A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

IMG_6196.jpg

i guess i'm a sick puppy but it looks to me like flounder's brain is exploding! :scared:

This is affectionately known as the Batman building.

IMG_6199.jpg

ahhhhhh......memories....

the batman building is a classic. i remember at one time there was a bat bar near the batman building.

Brooklynn wanted to walk this way - with her head between Jill's legs.

IMG_6208.jpg

that's interesting!

sounds like you guys had a great day (other than seeing the wreck - always a sad thing to witness). i love me some cracker barrell. i couldn't imagine living in an area of the country that didn't have cracker barrell. i grew up on steak and biscuits and hashbrown casserole! yummmm!!!!!

THANKS for sharing Ice with us!!!

This is affectionately known as the Batman building.
IMG_6199.jpg

My mamma worked there!!! But it did not say At&T at the top

But I missed the 'bat bar' somehow

This is SUCH a neat picture!!! She will like having this one day when she's grown up like me :goodvibes

because John was in a hurry to get going.

:confused3 Why are boys always like this :confused3

We all have our ups and our downs, so I have learned to appreciate and be grateful for all those good days.

So true and another wonderful thought :goodvibes

But I missed the 'bat bar' somehow

i think that was around in like 1997 maybe?????? i remember hearing about it right before i moved to georgia. my sister mentioned awhile back that it had become really trashy and then they eventually closed it. i have no clue where it was - i'm assuming near the batman building??

ETA: i googled it. it's now called either the liquid lounge or element (both names came up) and is located on 2nd avenue. from some of the things i've read i'm glad i never went there!!!!

Fun pictures of Disney on Ice! That looked like a pretty cool show....lots of different elements! Brooklyn definitely enjoyed it!

looks like a fun show. I would guess that is form the DVD of Tinkerbell. I saw something about it somewhere.

glad you got your dollar back. :rotfl2:

question...is Mt Dew okay to drink while pregnant? not trying to be nosy just showing some concern?

I love your pictures of Disney On Ice. I love Brooklynn's reactions to the show as well. So precious. I cant wait to see the Tinkerbell movie.

i love me some cracker barrell. i couldn't imagine living in an area of the country that didn't have cracker barrell. i grew up on steak and biscuits and hashbrown casserole! yummmm!!!!!

You mean there are people who don't have one where they live. So sad. DD#2 eats the same thing. Hmm love that hashbrown casserole.MeMom thanks for posting the pictures of E.Tubbs . I remember being there 3 years ago. and the Disney on Ice pictures they will be here in Oct. Now I have to go see it.Loving the TR. Can't wait for more.

You mean there are people who don't have one where they live. So sad. DD#2 eats the same thing. Hmm love that hashbrown casserole.

i had a friend move to california (yorba linda) and they didn't have them out there. she was distraught!

Good Morning, MeMom. I wanted to let you know for some reason the Lord has put it in my heart to pray for you. I don't know why but I'm doing what He says. I hope you have a great day and thanks for all the Disney on Ice pictures.

Wow, I hope nothing bad is about to happen! I'll have to watch my steps extra carefully today. I am going to be at a computer workshop all day - maybe I'm going to need a prayer to get through that! :)

Kidding aside, all prayers are always welcomed. "The effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16

This ride was given a thumbs up!

IMG_1560.jpg

Brooklynn has not yet mastered the art of thumbs up.

Crowds were beginning to get larger. These folks were waiting for a rope drop.

IMG_1561.jpg

Crowds can really interfere with all those nice empty street pictures, and they get in the way of all the cute buildings.

A banana break for the blonde one.

Pirates was next.

Here's a hint of what's up next.

I'm heading back a few pages to catch up on replies now.

Great seats for the show. I haven't been to an ice show in years and that would have been the Ice Capades.

The Disney on Ice shows are pretty good. Since Declan likes ice hockey, he might enjoy seeing the ice skaters.

WOW!!! How amazing is that!!!!!!!!!!
Will you find out the sex of the baby (we say in our family 'find out if its pink or blue'!)?
That's just so cool!!!

MeMom, the Fantasyland piccies are great - we only managed ISAW in July so I can't wait to get on Snow White and Peter Pan, sorry Pan Pan!

She should know if it is pink or blue around Thanksgiving.

If you can't do both, do Peter Pan for sure. Either get there eartly or Fastpass it, because PanPan lines are usually bad.

i also like the one where she's picking her nose. :rotfl2:

I debated about putting it up, but Jill said to go ahead.

Brooklyn is so cute!!! I love how excited she was to see her good friends, Mickey and Minnie and gang!!!

That face says it all. I wish it was clearer. Maybe Jill's camera will show clearer ones when she gets a chance to get them up.

The princess displays may not be in Disney World but they were still fun to look, and say I wish I was at Disney World.

Trent and Kristi make such a cute couple, then you throw in the real cutie Miss Brooklynn and you have adorable.

The displays were a nice Disney touch, considering we were ten and half hours away from a park.

Trent and Kristi are both both nice-looking kids, and they're good kids, too. Both are very concerned about morals and grades and family. They both love Brooklynn and are really good with her.

Disney on Ice looked like a blast! I think I have been to a Disney on Ice atleast 6 times, but i haven't been since I was about 8. I LOVE Brooklyn's hat she got with the cotton candy. :lmao:

You should take in another Disney on Ice show. Even as a grown-up, they're fun.

At first she wore it for a minute and then put it down. Then another little girl in front of us had one on, and Brooklynn thought the little girl had taken hers. She said, "My hat!" Then we showed her that hers was on the floor. She wasn't taking any chances after that, so she put it on her head until the show started.

I actually got tears in my eyes seeing Brooklynn getting excited. I can't wait to see a preview of the show we are seeing in October.

Have fun in October. At least you know now which parts are shorter and which part is the longest. Or at least it seemed longest to me.

Great Disney on Ice photos!

Thanks!

Hey MeMom!! I am back from the beach and dropped in to catch up!! I love the Disney on Ice pictures!!

I enjoyed seeing your beach pictures.

what great reaction shots of Brooklynn:thumbsup2

She was very reactive, for sure!

What's up with the headless princess?? :lmao: They should have had those in the MNSSHP.

Wonder why you still have MNSSHP on your mind? I'm so glad you got to go!

looks like the show was a lot fun so far. Brooklynn looks like she is really enjoying it.

She had a blast!

Those are some really great pictures! Thank you for providing the storyline that goes with them. :goodvibes The pictures of Brooklynn's reactions are adorable.

The pictures that you took of Nashville remind me SO much of the city center in the part of Ohio that some of my family lives in. We go there every summer for a few days and I just love it.

Glad you enjoyed seeing Nashville. That area is a big tourist spot.

Wow! I feel like I have seen the first half of Disney on Ice! Great photos and commentary, MeMom!

I'm glad you got to come along to the show!

i like the princess displays - very cool! is it just me or do cinderella and ariel's dresses look very similar in those? i guess i just never really thought about it before.

can't wait to hear more about disney on ice! i wanted to go to the show here but i'm just so busy in the upcoming weeks i don't know if we'll make it or not. maybe your pics will convince me otherwise!

I thought the same thing about the dresses. They were all very pretty.

You would enjoy the show, but since you just got back from Disney, it might not be as exciting for you as it was for me.

Thanks so much for the pics, you have shown me more than I expected. I thought I would get a sign, maybe cotton candy pic. You came through for us, thank you. I feel like I got a mini version of the show. I thought Brooklynn's reactions were adorable. Its so nice to see she enjoyed the characters.

Cotton candy, signs, and more!

i always cry when mufasah dies. :sad1:

the costumes look really cool for the lion king segment. the ones for the lion king musicle were AMAZING. i could've sit and watched them for hours. you forget those aren't real animals and are instead people in costumes.

great pic of tink! i probably would've loved this part of the show because tink's been a fav of mine since i was little and fell in love with peter pan. i just love her spirit.

Isn't it amazing how you know it's a cartoon - a drawing, now - and it can make you tear up?

I really wish we had gone to Lion King when it came to Nashville. I think we were trying to save every dime at the time, so we didn't.

I can see where you would relate to Tink. You both have a little spunk to you.

I just realized I don't write the word spunk very often. It sounded funny to say it.

Great TR title! :thumbsup2

Thanks for joining! This camel is big enough to carry a whole bunch of us!

Too cute!! I love your pics of Nashville i've never seen pictures so I was wondering how big of a city it is!

Maybe you can visit Nashville someday. Bring your video camera and do your famous narrations on what you experience in Music City!

I enjoyed the Disney on Ice pictures! Look like fun! Brooklynn looks so excited! I think we will have to go!

I hope you get to!

This bears repeating.

We need to be thankful for every day we have that things are going well, and it unfortunately usually takes a bad thing to make us realize it.

You guys had great seats for the show. And thank you for showing us some sights of Nashville. I've never been and would like to get there some day. Although, that would mean that I would have to give up a trip to Disney. Maybe DH and I could go for a weekend for our anniversary one year. We live in Ohio so I'd have to find good air tickets.
Is it just me or did the Queen of the Fairies look like a dude???:confused3

We did have good seats, but they were kind of expensive.

Maybe you could stop in Nashville if you ever drive to WDW. It's probably a good stopping point from Ohio.

I love the report on your trip to Disney on Ice! I haven't gone in about 20 years but now your pictures make me want to go again, if only so I can eat a sno-cone out of Flounder's head :rotfl: The pictures of Nashville are lovely too, that's a city I want to visit someday!

I think the princess displays with all the little props are cute...wouldn't it be a great job to travel with the show and set those up at each stop?

I hope you get to visit Nashville. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. Maybe you can try to go next time Disney on Ice is near you.

Awww, I love all the Disney on Ice pictures and the Nashville pictures!! I haven't been to Nashville since 1996!! I love that place!!! I actually went up there for a friends wedding! We stayed with my great-aunt Elaine, who was the mother in law of Jerry Reed. I remember she had all these pictures of Jerry with Burt Reynolds and Sally Field all over her house and all I could think of was, geez, this lady has a lot of barbies!!! :lmao:

So you've been in the presence of country greatness...twice removed!
Nashville has grown a lot in recent years. They've done loads of construction in downtown Nashville, and there's the coliseum where the Titans play, now. I wonder how long the little places, like Tootsie's, will hold out.

Thanks for sharing all those pics of Disney on Ice!!! I LOVED them!!! I don't know if we are going to take Megs this year or not---we have so much going on between now and October when it comes, that I just don't know if it will fit into our schedule!!! Isn't that CRAZY!!!!!

I know the feeling about being swamped. If you get to go, come back and show us a picture of you guys getting excited about Mickey and Minnie, too!

Totally. Ariel is the Queen of the Fairies! A very ugly fairy!

Maybe not the most beautiful fairy I've ever seen, to be nice about it. I guess being a good skater holds more weight in choosing parts.

ahhhhhh......memories....

the batman building is a classic. i remember at one time there was a bat bar near the batman building.

i love me some cracker barrell. i couldn't imagine living in an area of the country that didn't have cracker barrell. i grew up on steak and biscuits and hashbrown casserole! yummmm!!!!!

Jill loves Cracker Barrel, and she doesn't have one close to her house, so she likes going when she's here. The new one up here makes it very convenient.

THANKS for sharing Ice with us!!!

My mamma worked there!!! But it did not say At&T at the top

This is SUCH a neat picture!!! She will like having this one day when she's grown up like me :goodvibes

:confused3 Why are boys always like this :confused3

So true and another wonderful thought :goodvibes

They just love being fun-squashers!

He wasn't being too grumpy, but I could tell he was hurrying us on down the road. I think he was ready to get home to some football and leave the princesses and country music stuff behind.

i think that was around in like 1997 maybe?????? i remember hearing about it right before i moved to georgia. my sister mentioned awhile back that it had become really trashy and then they eventually closed it. i have no clue where it was - i'm assuming near the batman building??

ETA: i googled it. it's now called either the liquid lounge or element (both names came up) and is located on 2nd avenue. from some of the things i've read i'm glad i never went there!!!!

I don't go downtown at all, so that's why I took all those pictures while I had the chance. I don't like all the homeless people in search of money. They had signs up all up and down the street saying DON'T GIVE! in regard them.

Fun pictures of Disney on Ice! That looked like a pretty cool show....lots of different elements! Brooklyn definitely enjoyed it!

It was a fun day, and she's at a great age to enjoy it.

looks like a fun show. I would guess that is form the DVD of Tinkerbell. I saw something about it somewhere.

glad you got your dollar back. :rotfl2:

Every dollar is a Disney dollar. That dollar can buy half a something in Disney World. Or maybe a third of something.

question...is Mt Dew okay to drink while pregnant? not trying to be nosy just showing some concern?

I love your pictures of Disney On Ice. I love Brooklynn's reactions to the show as well. So precious. I cant wait to see the Tinkerbell movie.

She doesn't drink much, I don't think. I know she has a glass of milk every morning for breakfast.

Maybe if I watch the Tinkerbell movie with Brooklynn, I can retrace the Disney on Ice show and make more sense of it.

It's nice to have you along, especially since you have at least visited Nashville at some point. Let us know if you see the show.

My standard that I cannot deviate from is chicken and dumplings, green beans, and fried apples. My team teacher has been after me to try the hashbrown casserole. I couldn't choose what to give up, so I just added hashbrown casserole, got four items instead of three, and had plenty of leftovers.

i had a friend move to california (yorba linda) and they didn't have them out there. she was distraught!

Jill could never move to Yorba Linda.

Good Morning, MeMom. I wanted to let you know for some reason the Lord has put it in my heart to pray for you. I don't know why but I'm doing what He says. I hope you have a great day and thanks for all the Disney on Ice pictures.

I guess the prayers have worked so far. All is well as of right this minute. I appreciate you sharing your good thoughts.

A Disney cruise....kinda.

I had been thinking about a career change, so I was interested in this.

IMG_1584.jpg

I checked out the employee cafeteria.

IMG_1585.jpg

I'm only going to eat on weekends.
(REALLY!!)

The very inviting(?) employee accomodations. It might not be much, but hey, look at all the fruit!

IMG_1587.jpg

We boarded our craft, Congo Connie,

and we set off into the depths of the jungle.

Disney fakeness at its best.

IMG_1596.jpg

IMG_1597.jpg

I never have liked this scene. Look at the poor zebra over at the side watching his loved one get massacred.

IMG_1598.jpg

Gross!

IMG_1599.jpg

Welcome to the jungle. Sit on the top of my head, and I'll carry you across the river.

IMG_1602.jpg

Heck, no - I read The Gingerbread Man at least two hundred times when the kids were little. I know better!

Hippos under water.

Did any of you ever play Hungry, Hungry Hippos with the marbles? This makes me think of that game.

You know what this is!

We made it through the jungle and safely back to our landing.

Phew! Glad you made it through the jungle.

that lion on the left is getting dangerously close to eating some zebra butt! :scared:

Did any of you ever play Hungry, Hungry Hippos with the marbles? This makes me think of that game.

i did! that was my older cousin's favorite game so we played it ALOT.

Playful pachyderms.

IMG_1617.jpg

wait until you see the only decent picture i got on our nighttime jungle cruise.

What do you mean Disney Fakiness?? Aren't these animals real? I thought this was the water version of the safari.

Great update and pics.

those photos are very nice.

Love the thumbs up pic earlier.
