A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

There were things for sale at pretty high prices. If I'm going to buy high prices, I probably need to be actually in Disney World. This stuff didn't just pull at my purse strings.

Don't blame you at all!!

We walked through the Princess displays. They were cute, but not as cute as they would have been if we were in Disney World.

See a pattern forming here?

What's up with the headless princess?? :lmao: They should have had those in the MNSSHP

Mickey and Minne waved.

IMG_5793.jpg

And Brooklynn waved.

IMG_5791.jpg

CUTE! :goodvibes

I can see what's happening,
and they don't have a clue...

WHO?!? ;)

Great pics!

looks like the show was a lot fun so far. Brooklynn looks like she is really enjoying it.

Those are some really great pictures! Thank you for providing the storyline that goes with them. :goodvibes The pictures of Brooklynn's reactions are adorable.

The pictures that you took of Nashville remind me SO much of the city center in the part of Ohio that some of my family lives in. We go there every summer for a few days and I just love it.

After the break, Mickey and Minnie and the others came out again.

I really cannot remember what all they said, but they were there for a few minutes, and then it went into the Tinkerbell/Fairies stuff.

IMG_6065.jpg

IMG_6067.jpg

IMG_6070.jpg

Then it was off to Fairyland or whatever it is, and at this point, I will plead complete ignorance, because I know nothing about these little creatures.
I've seen toys and things of them, but I've never given them a second glance, because it's not anything Brooklynn has gotten into.

Yet.

So, I'll tell you what I think I saw, and you can take it for what it's worth, which is very little.

There was a queen fairy involved.

IMG_6076.jpg

IMG_6078.jpg

The premise was something about Tinkerbell making spring not come or something.

And a bunch of other fairies of different colors and talents. Each one had their specialty, but I don't remember the particular specialties.

IMG_6086.jpg

It was not until I heard the name Tinkerbell that I recognized any part of this.

IMG_6088.jpg

This was a very long segment of the program, and I got pretty bored.

IMG_6097.jpg

Brooklynn enjoyed seeing Tinkerbell, but she was rubbing her eyes a lot during this part, since she wasn't so interested and she was getting sleepy.

IMG_6104.jpg

The props were interesting.

IMG_6117.jpg

There were some very strange looking characters in this show. You may know their names if you have a daughter under about 10, I'm guessing, and you can help us out here.

IMG_6119.jpg

At some point, Tinkerbell had to face a bunch of weed-looking things, maybe dandelions?

At least this part looked a little like Tough to be a Bug, so I could relate for a minute.

IMG_6131.jpg

I never could get them going slow enough to get a good picture.

Tinkerbell, by facing the weed things, made spring come back, and it suddenly got very colorful.

IMG_6151.jpg

IMG_6154.jpg

When it got to this part, I got interested again, because it was pretty, and they were skating and not doing so much talking.

IMG_6155.jpg

Tinkerbell flew overhead.

IMG_6161.jpg

IMG_6164.jpg

As soon as she came down, some familiar faces reappeared, and the music got louder.

IMG_6166.jpg

IMG_6169.jpg

IMG_6171.jpg

Brooklynn was excited again.

IMG_6173.jpg

Almost done. One more group of pictures, coming up.

This is the famous (or so they tell us around here) Ryman Auditorium.

IMG_5732.jpg

saw john mayer and tori amos here. GREAT venue, although the hard seats are not good for your bum for a long show!

Oh, and a Mountain Dew, because they're Mountain Dew-ers.

i wish i could drink mountain dew and be as thin as jill. if i drank anything other than water on a regular basis i'd balloon up fast!

Mickey! Minnie! Dondle! Goofy! Yay! Flap, flap, flap!!!

IMG_5785.jpg

I'm not sure she could have opened that mouth any wider. She was so excited!

this is soooooo precious!!!!

i like the princess displays - very cool! is it just me or do cinderella and ariel's dresses look very similar in those? i guess i just never really thought about it before.

that makes me think of a comic i saw right after "enchanted" came out. this just cracks me up!

can't wait to hear more about disney on ice! i wanted to go to the show here but i'm just so busy in the upcoming weeks i don't know if we'll make it or not. maybe your pics will convince me otherwise!

Thanks so much for the pics, you have shown me more than I expected. I thought I would get a sign, maybe cotton candy pic. You came through for us, thank you. I feel like I got a mini version of the show. I thought Brooklynn's reactions were adorable. Its so nice to see she enjoyed the characters. I liked the princess displays. I don't know the fairy names but when the movie comes out I'm sure I will.:rotfl: I'll check in for the rest later.

while a tall, dark, and handsome stranger watched from afar.

IMG_5842.jpg

This guy was totally in character. His face spoke volumes. He was truly trying to impress someone with his acting ability. Maybe a little overly into it.

but the most important question is: DID HE HAVE A MULLET???? :rotfl2:

Mufasah's fate.

IMG_5959.jpg

i always cry when mufasah dies. :sad1:

The animals running around were very cool.

And not just because of the ice.

the costumes look really cool for the lion king segment. the ones for the lion king musicle were AMAZING. i could've sit and watched them for hours. you forget those aren't real animals and are instead people in costumes.

great pic of tink! i probably would've loved this part of the show because tink's been a fav of mine since i was little and fell in love with peter pan. i just love her spirit. although i probably wouldn't have known the whole story that went along with this because i haven't read/seen it yet. i need to get on that before we go back in december because i hear she and her fairy friends are doing a meet and greet and i'd like to know who i'm meeting before i say anything to them!

With Mickey's arrival,

IMG_6175.jpg

I am interested again, too!

My Mickey!

That was me this time, not Brooklynn.

My Dondle.

IMG_6182.jpg

Skate, skate.
Clap, clap.
Singing and merriment.

IMG_6186.jpg

IMG_6189.jpg

So long, Mickey!
We will see you at Thanksgiving.
We are eating supper with you!
Have the turkey ready!

IMG_6191.jpg

IMG_6192.jpg

And so the show was over. The characters did not make the hand-shaking rounds like they had done in Huntsville, so that was truly the end.

Back out in the lobby, there were still many things for sale.

IMG_6193.jpg

IMG_6195.jpg

IMG_6196.jpg

Jill got Brooklynn a Tinkerbell pennant for her room, and it was the cheapest thing they had at $6.00.

IMG_6197.jpg

Brooklynn was plenty happy with it and waved it proudly.

That was it for Disney on Ice.

Here are a few more pictures of Nashville for you.

This is affectionately known as the Batman building.

IMG_6199.jpg

Tootsie's Orchid Lounge is a favorite of many country stars.

IMG_6200.jpg

Guitar pick signage. Aren't we just so clever with our decor?

IMG_6202.jpg

A guitar with a bunch of country stars on it.

IMG_6204.jpg

Brooklynn was looking at something very interesting the other way, so I moved to the other side.

IMG_6205.jpg

I never looked to see what she was so interested in, because John was in a hurry to get going.

Again, we walked past the Ryman on the way to the parking garage.

IMG_6206.jpg

IMG_6207.jpg

Brooklynn wanted to walk this way - with her head between Jill's legs.

IMG_6208.jpg

Such a weird little girl!

Nashville has quaint little buildings and shops, and it has very big modern buildings.

IMG_6210.jpg

Nashville has many buses.

IMG_6211.jpg

You could close your eyes and picture yourself at the bus stops at Disney World by the sounds and the fumes.

Brooklynn was holding the money to pay the parking attendant, but she didn't want to give it up when the time came, so I handed John another $5 bill to pay for it.. Fearing Brooklynn would toss the original $5 somewhere where I couldn't find it, I traded her out for a $1, which she gladly accepted.

She was asleep about twenty-two seconds after we left the garage, and at that point, I even took my $1 back!

With dollar and pacifier.

IMG_6213.jpg

Without dollar and pacifier.

IMG_6214.jpg

She was fast asleep!

We ran by Opry Mills to see what was in the Disney Store. John just stayed in the car with a sleeping Brooklynn while we ran in. We got Halloween party stuff, and Jill got some Disney Dollars. The mom and daughter team working behind the counter will be in WDW at Pop at the same time Jill will, so they may see each other there. That would be one of those 'small world' moments!

On the way home, we saw a really bad wreck on the interstate near our house. There were police cars and state troopers and fire trucks and ambulances and everything out there. A car had run head on into a concrete truck. Trent had called to warn us about it already. He said the only people who could have lived through it would be anyone who had been in the very back, because the front and back seats were smashed straight in all the way back. We heard this morning at church that it was one lady, and she was killed. I do not know if she was a wife or a mom or not, but I know she was a daughter, and most likely a sister, and for sure, she was someone's friend. Very sad.

We all come and go doing different things throughout our days. One person may be having a great day with their loved ones, and another may be losing a family member or going through a difficult trial. We all have our ups and our downs, so I have learned to appreciate and be grateful for all those good days.

When we got back home, we ordered from Cracker Barrel and gorged ourselves with good home-cookin'. Chicken and dumplings, yum! Drew texted me and said if we were getting food to get him something, but it was too late, because we were coming down our road when I got the message.

I am a nice mom, so I shared with him.

And we Dised, naturally.

Jill and John went to buy a new double stroller and a portable DVD player (for Brooklynn to have in October on the plane, if needed). Brooklynn and I watched Awull for the bazillionth time. She picks that one almost every time she is here. I occasionally talk her into a different movie, but she usually just wants to see Ariel.

Oh, yeah, we youtubed the Castle Party show and sang along to that! :) Jill 'stole' my CD and has been playing it in the car, so Brooklynn knows a lot of the words. It's pretty cute to hear her singing along to the parts she knows.

All in all, it was a fun and happy day for us.

Too cute!! I love your pics of Nashville i've never seen pictures so I was wondering how big of a city it is!

I enjoyed the Disney on Ice pictures! Look like fun! Brooklynn looks so excited! I think we will have to go!

This bears repeating.

Brooklyn is too cute.

You guys had great seats for the show. And thank you for showing us some sights of Nashville. I've never been and would like to get there some day. Although, that would mean that I would have to give up a trip to Disney. Maybe DH and I could go for a weekend for our anniversary one year. We live in Ohio so I'd have to find good air tickets.
Is it just me or did the Queen of the Fairies look like a dude???:confused3

I thought that briefly, too.

After looking at some pictures, I'm thinking Ariel and Queen Fairy Lady were played by the same person.

Can you tell anything by those extra pictures? The nose and mouth look the same to me.

Also, here's the weed things that Tinkerbell had to face to make spring come. I forgot to add those before.

I love the report on your trip to Disney on Ice! I haven't gone in about 20 years but now your pictures make me want to go again, if only so I can eat a sno-cone out of Flounder's head :rotfl: The pictures of Nashville are lovely too, that's a city I want to visit someday!

I think the princess displays with all the little props are cute...wouldn't it be a great job to travel with the show and set those up at each stop?

Awww, I love all the Disney on Ice pictures and the Nashville pictures!! I haven't been to Nashville since 1996!! I love that place!!! I actually went up there for a friends wedding! We stayed with my great-aunt Elaine, who was the mother in law of Jerry Reed. I remember she had all these pictures of Jerry with Burt Reynolds and Sally Field all over her house and all I could think of was, geez, this lady has a lot of barbies!!! :lmao:

Thanks for sharing all those pics of Disney on Ice!!! I LOVED them!!! I don't know if we are going to take Megs this year or not---we have so much going on between now and October when it comes, that I just don't know if it will fit into our schedule!!! Isn't that CRAZY!!!!!

Totally. Ariel is the Queen of the Fairies! A very ugly fairy!
