A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

Great ultrasound-congrats Jill et al!

That 4D was truly amazing!!!! Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us!!! How exciting!

See you are the morning person and I the night owl!!
But I can't wait to see your pictures!
I'm glad Glenda has had good weather and a good time. She did not look dazed or crazy. She and her mamma were precious. I loved having dinner with them and am very glad we scheduled it!!
PanPan - One of my personal faves!! We actually walked on this ride which is ALWAYS cool!

It is a rare thing for me to ever make it to four o'clock.
I'll load pictures to photobucket, hopefully today, and give you a little visit to Disney on Ice.
I'd love to meet Glenda and her mom. I talked to her Friday and she PMed me yesterday. She's back at home safe and sound.
Peter Pan is a favorite of ours, too.

Loved your update and pics again MeMom. I love the Peter Pan ride. We hadn't ridden it in years because the line was always so long. But this year we bit the bullet and waited about an hour to ride :scared1: But I'm glad we did. It was worth it.

Cathy

The line is always long for that. We get it first thing in the morning, especially on EMH days, and it's a walk-on.

I love the boarding pictures.

I like Jill's big smile as they are taking off. That's my payback for us going on these trips. Quite a nice reward to see the kids having such fun!

Have fun today at Disney on Ice. Take alot of pictures to share.

We did, and I'll get them up today, I hope.

WOW... great pictures. I just finished reading and re-living my trip (aug.23-31). We had dinner one night at Cape Mae's and it was fantastic. I showed my Hubby (the Ice Cream King), the Beaches & Cream pics. he said "I was to full". So guess where we will be hitting next time.

Nan

I'm glad you enjoyed the Beaches and Cream picture visit. We'll be eating at Cape May on November 30th before we make our long haul back home. What a shocker that will be when I go to school the next day, Monday morning, knowing that less than 24 hours earlier, I was in Disney World having breakfast with Chip and Dale, Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie. My Monday morning Pop-tart eaten as I drag my sleep-deprived (more than usual) body to school will just be too sad.

Do you know that you are sick when you are already mourning the day after a trip that is still two months away?

pan pan is one of my favorites too!!

i never get good pics on snow white unless the ride gets stuck. then i pull out the camera and start clicking away!

I do the same thing! I love it when we get stuck on a ride and I can get a bunch of pictures better than I can get them when we're rolling by.

Cute Peter Pan pictures. We finally rode it for the first time on our last trip. I don't know what we were waiting on, it was a neat ride!

Can't recall if we rode Snow White or not....we may have decided it was too scary as Hannah was only 15 months at the time!

How was Disney on Ice? I'm trying to convince Ben to go to that when it comes to Indy in Dec. since we aren't going to WDW anytime soon!

It was good, but not as good as the one we saw in Huntsville two years ago. It had a short time of Cars right at the beginning. The cars were very cute, but they just sort of spun around to a song around and around the ice, and that was about it. Lion King and Little Mermaid were both good. The Tinkerbell Fairy part ran a little long. It led into the finale, which was bright and colorful. The characters did not spend time shaking hands and taking pictures at the end as they did when we were in Huntsville. I would say go, because it was a nice Disney touch, especially if you aren't going to be making a trip any time soon.

The souvenirs were fairly expensive, as you might expect. Since they're going to be in WDW in three weeks, Jill didn't feel the need to buy anything. There was a little flower hat that came with the cotton candy, so they got that as a multipurpose treat. (For boys, the cotton candy came with a Cars orange cone.) Then afterward they got a six dollar pennant, and that was it. A lot of people got the light up spinning toys, though. There were a zillion little girls dressed up as princesses.

great update and pics.

well this weekend started with 8 hours in the ER. that was fun.
I am fine.
Today saw "Burn After Reading" very good.
Tomorrow is "Righteous Kill" and then going to World of Disney for the Enchanted exhange of the Month. It is Goofy this motnh so I need to find something good.

I am going over to your report to find details about an ER trip. That's not the way you're supposed to spend a weekend!

Peter Pan is one of my favorite rides in Fantasyland! The others are IASW, the Teacups, the Carrousel, and Philharmagic! I think that is almost all of them.

Me, too...I like them all for their own charm, fun, or excitement - whatever the case may be!

MeMom, Trent eats 6 sandwiches? at once? all the same? my boyfriend eats like 4 in one sitting, i guess i wont get on his case anymore

i think i like the peter pan ride more than snow white but love the pics nonetheless

No, he eats them by twos usually. He will be eating sandwiches as he asks me, "What's for supper?"

I like Peter Pan better than Snow White, too, but I can never get decent pictures in Peter Pan, either.

So as promised here is a picture of our new addition. This is a picture of a picture but is still pretty good. It is a lot clearer in person though.

What a cute little baby you have already! :)

Your little peanut is precious. Those 4d ultra sounds are cool. Also look at my new ticker. I talked my husband into going December 14-20. Sorry for hijacking your thread with my rambling I am just so excited and you guys are the first people I have been able to tell!!!!!!!

That's very exciting that you get to go at Christmas! You will love all the decorations and the characters dressed in their special outfits. The parade is so cool, too! You made a good choice!

Sorry I had to cut your celebration down to one banana, but I've gotta have room for pictures here in a few minutes.

Okay, never mind. I'm waiting on doing pictures for later, so I'm returning some of your celebrating friends::banana: :cool1: :dance3:

And I'm adding a few of my own::donald: :dumbo: :goofy:

Very exciting about your trip. I just got an e-mail code for free dining for our October trip so we are eating for free!

There she goes talking about that free dining October trip again. She better bring me back a nice souvenir!

jill - i meant to tell you thank you for sending us a pic of your little peanut while we were at disney! it's so amazing they can produce such detail at such an early stage in the pregnancy! have you shown it to brooklynn? if so, does she have any idea what it is?

If you as her if it's a brother or a sister, she says, "Budda, Sissah." She can't decide. Or she has no idea what we're saying and she's just mimicking us.

:goodvibes aww Jill your little peanut is so cute!

Already a cute baby, isn't it?

Jill,
Thanks for sharing your new little one with us. Although, I have to admit I was looking for a hidden Mickey somewhere in there.:rotfl: Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Again, I will say, why didn't we think of that?!?!?!

I just got in from a day of shopping. DD got the Hannah bear but the outfit was sold out. Already? It just came out yesterday? So we got the Halloween kitty instead. (she had coupons off so I caved on two) I got DD 5 tshirts that were $22 each, on sale for $8! They have a picture on the front and back, that join on the side of the tee. I wish I could show you, I will later on.
I really wanted a snowglobe but showed restraint. I also wanted the Beauty & Beast dolls. I saved them for another trip. I tried to convince DS to get some tees but he declined. I thought the Grumpy one was perfect for him.
He actually was in a pleasant mood today, go figure. Must have been the pizza, new hoodie & shoes.I was happy to have him along. Today was a good day.

Sorry about the sell-out. I hope she was happy with the others. I've seen those shirts you're talking about with the characters on both sides. They are cute. Kids can muster up a good mood when you're buying them things. Every parent of a tween or teenager is always grateful for a good day!

I can't do snowglobes. I can't stand the fact that those people/characters are under water and can't breathe. I have to take a deep breath even as I write about it. I know I have claustrophobia, but would you call that snowglobophobia?

Jill, thanks for sharing the picture of your little one! That is an amazing picture!

Wow! Ultrasounds have come a long way in the last nine years!!!
Thanks for sharing, Jill! :goodvibes

Great ultrasound-congrats Jill et al!

WoW! They have come along way! Thanks for sharing, as others have said.

That 4D was truly amazing!!!! Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us!!! How exciting!

Thanks from everyone for the well wishes for Jill and the baby. The ultrasound is awesome. It does make it very real very soon, doesn't it?

I didn't get a chance to comment on the ultrasound picture until right now. WOW! It's amazing how they can produce such a clear picture. I'm sure it makes it that much more exciting.

I hope Disney On Ice was amazing!

Good Morning, MeMom.

Good afternoon, reelmom!

I didn't get a chance to comment on the ultrasound picture until right now. WOW! It's amazing how they can produce such a clear picture. I'm sure it makes it that much more exciting.

I hope Disney On Ice was amazing!

It was good, but not as good as the one in Huntsville. I think it was because the one down there had a lot of classic Disney with it, like Pinocchio and others, and it had a really cool Small World segment. If you look back on Baby and the Tramp during October, there should be pictures of it on there, if you're interested in seeing that one.

Just checking for pics of Disney on Ice. I'll check back later. Have a great Sunday!

Coming up! I came straight in from church and started loading them, but it's been a little slow, so they're just finishing up.

Saturday morning - Disney on Ice - 9/13/08

Jill, John, and Brooklynn met us at a local mall on Saturday morning. Trent and Kristi were just going to drop me off to meet them so we wouldn't have to have two cars downtown, since they were coming up from Alabama shortly before showtime.

As always, Trent begins harrassing Brooklynn.

IMG_5719.jpg

"Hep me!" she laughs.

IMG_5720.jpg

She wouldn't know what to do if he didn't aggravate her.

A quick hello and a quick goodbye, and we were off.

IMG_5722.jpg

Every two year old needs a nose-picking picture, right?

The show was at the Sommet Center in Nashville, so I will also give you a glimpse of our fair city in all of this. You'll see some places you may have heard of, but never have seen.

This is the famous (or so they tell us around here) Ryman Auditorium.

IMG_5732.jpg

Legends Corner. (Famous people found here.)

IMG_5733.jpg

IMG_5735.jpg

Ernest Tubb Record Shop.

IMG_5736.jpg

As we walked toward the front door, we could already hear the barkers selling the programs. A program was ten dollars, and we didn't think it was worth it at all, so no money dropped there.

There were many little girls dressed as many different princesses, but I only saw a very few little boys.

There were things for sale at pretty high prices. If I'm going to buy high prices, I probably need to be actually in Disney World. This stuff didn't just pull at my purse strings.

IMG_5739.jpg

IMG_5740.jpg

IMG_5741.jpg

IMG_5742.jpg

Now this was tempting, but I did not give in. I pretty much only have a funnel cake when I am in Disney World.

IMG_5743.jpg

We walked through the Princess displays. They were cute, but not as cute as they would have been if we were in Disney World.

See a pattern forming here?

IMG_5744.jpg

IMG_5748.jpg

IMG_5753.jpg

IMG_5758.jpg

IMG_5759.jpg

IMG_5762.jpg

IMG_5764.jpg

We did our bathroom pit stop and then headed to our seats. We were on the floor, Row B, which was the first row on a small riser, so we could see pretty well.

IMG_5771.jpg

Jill and John went out to get a few food items, since they were hungry. John got a burger and Jill got chicken strips and fries, and they got Brooklynn a cotton candy with a flower hat that came with it.

Oh, and a Mountain Dew, because they're Mountain Dew-ers.

Brooklynn in her flower hat.

IMG_5778.jpg

Jacket on - the show is about to start, and it is getting chilly.

IMG_5781.jpg

In a short time, the lights went down and the action began. Brooklynn's face lit up and her hands started flapping when she saw her friends!

IMG_5784.jpg

Mickey! Minnie! Dondle! Goofy! Yay! Flap, flap, flap!!!

IMG_5785.jpg

I'm not sure she could have opened that mouth any wider. She was so excited!

That's it for now. I'm tired of typing. I'm going to go read some of your reports for a while, and I'll come back with the actual show later.

Great seats for the show. I haven't been to an ice show in years and that would have been the Ice Capades.

So as promised here is a picture of our new addition. This is a picture of a picture but is still pretty good. It is a lot clearer in person though.

IMG_6219.jpg

WOW!!! How amazing is that!!!!!!!!!!
Will you find out the sex of the baby (we say in our family 'find out if its pink or blue'!)?
That's just so cool!!!

MeMom, the Fantasyland piccies are great - we only managed ISAW in July so I can't wait to get on Snow White and Peter Pan, sorry Pan Pan!

Can't wait for more piccies xxx

aww brooklynn's so cute how excited she got when she saw her disney friends. i also like the one where she's picking her nose. :rotfl2:

The princess displays may not be in Disney World but they were still fun to look, and say I wish I was at Disney World.

Trent and Kristi make such a cute couple, then you throw in the real cutie Miss Brooklynn and you have adorable.

Disney on Ice looked like a blast! I think I have been to a Disney on Ice atleast 6 times, but i haven't been since I was about 8. I LOVE Brooklyn's hat she got with the cotton candy. :lmao:

I actually got tears in my eyes seeing Brooklynn getting excited. I can't wait to see a preview of the show we are seeing in October.

We had a hard time getting good pictures, as these skaters flew across the ice very quickly at times. Jill was trying to take pictures, but Brooklynn kept wanting to be up in her lap, so she was trying to shoot and balance Brooklynn on one side. I don't know what kind of pictures she ended up getting.

Anyway, this is some of what we got, and I'll try to be brief with it instead of giving you the hundreds I normally do.

The show begins.

IMG_5786.jpg

Brooklynn greeted them as they came closer with, "My Mickey!"

IMG_5787.jpg

The gang is setting out on a trip in a little red car.

IMG_5788.jpg

IMG_5789.jpg

Mickey and Minne waved.

IMG_5793.jpg

And Brooklynn waved.

IMG_5791.jpg

The little girl next to us in the green crocs was also very excited to see Mickey and Minnie! She was very cute.

But, alas, the plans are altered as the car spews out steam and stop in mid-ice.

IMG_5798.jpg

After a brief discussion, the gang leaves Red Car behind as they skate off stage.

Moments later, a familiar friends happens by, thinking he might be of help.

IMG_5804.jpg

Tow Mater got a thunderous round of applause from the audience.
I suspect every little boy in there was happy to see some dirt and rust after having been surrounded with all the frill and fluff of the little girls dressed in princess outfits they had had to stand in line with.

And after that, the rest of the Cars gang showed up.

IMG_5813.jpg

Roaring in to help save the day was Lightning McQueen.

IMG_5823.jpg

The whole Cars gang had a bumper to bumper discussion with Red, and in no time at all, they had him back in action.

IMG_5827.jpg

All the Cars cars danced around the ice to a fairly long song, and their twisting and turning was somewhat reminiscent of a mild version of Lights, Motor, Action -
only with less noise and more poise, and no fire, of course.

So, with the ice looking somewhat like a spilled Slushie, a cardinal-colored crustacean appeared.

IMG_5838.jpg

Everyone was clapping their claws for this guy, too!

Ariel and Flounder appeared swimming through the ocean,

IMG_5845.jpg

while a tall, dark, and handsome stranger watched from afar.

IMG_5842.jpg

This guy was totally in character. His face spoke volumes. He was truly trying to impress someone with his acting ability. Maybe a little overly into it.

This was a good performance, but a few times the actors did kind of stumble on the choppy ice. None of them fell, thank heavens.

IMG_5871.jpg

Ursula came and did her bargaining with Ariel, as you know the story goes.

IMG_5874.jpg

Ariel traded her voice for what do you call those? Feet!

IMG_5888.jpg

In the end, Ursula lost and Ariel won, and she and Eric danced and danced and danced.

IMG_5901.jpg

Brooklynn enjoyed 'Awull' very much.

IMG_5910.jpg

The rest of the show is on its way.

Hey MeMom!! I am back from the beach and dropped in to catch up!! I love the Disney on Ice pictures!!

Now it's time for the zamboni.

Not!

Now it's time for lions.

IMG_5912.jpg

And their lion cub.

IMG_5913.jpg

Rafiki was a big hit, as he skated his blue behind all over the ice.

IMG_5920.jpg

IMG_5922.jpg

Everything was fine on the savannah, until Scar showed up.

IMG_5931.jpg

I love the songs that go with Lion King, and Scar singing of his plans to become king was great!

The hyenas joined in on his plans.

IMG_5935.jpg

The stampede.

IMG_5947.jpg

Mufasah's fate.

IMG_5959.jpg

The guy with the tongue hanging out reminded me of Stitch gone wild.

New-found friends for the exiled one.

IMG_5970.jpg

Brooklynn, totally entranced in the show.

IMG_5980.jpg

That spinning thing ice skaters do.

IMG_5985.jpg

That raising someone high above your head thing that ice skaters do.

IMG_5995.jpg

I can see what's happening,
and they don't have a clue...

IMG_5998.jpg

IMG_6008.jpg

IMG_6009.jpg

IMG_6011.jpg

IMG_6012.jpg

IMG_6013.jpg

The animals running around were very cool.

And not just because of the ice.

IMG_6019.jpg

IMG_6034.jpg

It made me feel a little like I was at Festival of the Lion King, only to do that, I'd have to be...

in Disney World!

Now the zamboni?

Nope.

Graham cracker break.

IMG_6046.jpg

And finally - a zamboni.

IMG_6048.jpg

Reflection in the ice.

IMG_6050.jpg

The guy who was patting the ice down was a trainee, I guess, because 'the suit' went out and did a little more when he was done, and then he was explaining in much detail how to do it.

IMG_6051.jpg

I'm going to take a break while the water/ice is drying up. More later.
