A Summer Wedding and a Disney Trip CANCELLED, HELP DECIDE WHEN WE'LL GO IN 2011

Love the Wedding Venue!!!!!

It is going to look twice as beautiful in the summer :-) !!!!

Thanks, yes, i've seen the pics of it in the summer and it is gorgeous!!! I can't wait.

Pam, it's gorgeous!!!!! I cannot WAIT to see your wedding pics! I wish we had gotten married outside...I should have waiting until I was older and wiser! ;)

That was the one thing that I really cared about. I knew we wanted to have an outside ceremony and was soooo glad to find this place!

Your wedding venue is gorgeous!

Thanks, i'm very happy with it!!!

BELLETINKMOM: Thanks for joining us! Oh, good, your kids get an insane amount of Christmas gifts too :headache: I actually have to get rid of stuff that they don't use much before christmas every year so we have room to put all their new stuff! I know i'm glad they get it all and happy for them ,but I always make sure my kids know that they should be very grateful for what they have!
And thanks for the dining reviews. We cannot wait to do Character meals and eat at Disney fancy restaurants. Coral reef is one I am most looking forward to! When we went in May we did the QSDP, and as we liked it and had no complaints I am so looking forward to the regular DDP!!!
I'm going to check out your TR!!!

I love your venue!!!! So pretty!!! Boy, once the wedding plans take hold, they just seem to take on a life of their own, don't they??? Peter and I went to a bridal show yesterday and absolutely fell in love with one of the cakes.....can you guess what the figures were on it??? Yep, Mickey and Minnie in their wedding outfits. Actually, I fell in love with it, I think Peter just agreed to make me happy. Smart man! Oh, and big, I mean big news --- Victoria is now THINKING ABOUT having Peter go with us to Disney!!! :lmao: That's a big step for her!! I see you've joined my pretrip report....yeah!!! I've got to get some more posted to it!

Pam, the pictures of your wedding venue are beautiful. I know you are just itching to get to the bridal show. Glad to hear that you're feeling better too.

Thanks! I can't wait to go to the Bridal Show too! I also, would like to have a Mickey and Minnie on our cake! And Manny would say the same thing, sure, whatever you want. Thank you!!!
And glad to hear Victoria may be ok with the idea of an "intruder" on her vacation

Thanks, yes, I can't wait to go! It's right where we're having the wedding , so we'll get to see everything all decorated!!!

Ok, so I need to narrow it down to 8 restaurants and I have 9! HELP!!!!

I put a lovey face next to the ones that I definitely won't change!

So our choices........

Chef Mickey's (Mk day):lovestruc
Crystal Palace (MK day, MNSSHP night):lovestruc
1900 Park Fare ********
Coral Reef (first epcot day):lovestruc
San Angel Inn (second epcot day):lovestruc
Sci Fi (DHS day):lovestruc
Yak and Yeti (Animal Kingdom day)
Espn Club (The night we go to the Boardwalk for dinner and surrey bikes)
Raglan Road (Our DTD day for the boat rental, disney quest and shopping)

Ok, so I have all of these restaurants on the days that I want them, but I really wanted to go to 1900 Park Fare. The restaurants that I have are where we will be those days, but I really want to add this one in. Which would be easiest to switch out. I was thinking maybe our DTD day or BW night, switching it and taking away ESPN club or Raglan road.

What do you guys think???? I really want all 9, but don't want to pay OOP for any! It will get pricey with our family of 6!!!

I've been to both ESPN Club and Raglan Road and, if it were me, I'd swap out ESPN Club. The food was okay...nothing spectacular and very similar to "sports bar food" you can find anywhere. The service there was TERRIBLE!

Correction...we didn't do the sit down at Raglan Road, but we ate at the little counter service restaurant that is attached, Cooke's of Dublin. The food was awesome! I got HUGE scallops! My oldest son had a fried snickers bar for dessert! We went into Raglan Road and the restaurant is beautiful.

If I had to choose one to do again it would be Raglan Rd/Cooke's.

Just my 2 cents! :goodvibes

Ooh I have heard great things about Coral Reef!!!!!!!!!!!

Pam, you guys have gone to Chef Mickey's before right? The kids love it, I'm sure, but I think I would switch Park Fare for Chef Mickey's. From everything I have heard, they will love Park Fare as well. It's on our list for September! It's something new and I was glad that we went to chef mickey's, but we won't be back. The food was really not good and our service was bad. The characters were awesome, but so are the characters at Park Fare. Hard choices!!!

I know what you mean about OOP, as of now we only have QSD for free, so we're adding 3 TS meals OOP and it was hard to choose just 3!

Thanks! The Ragland Rd/ Cooke's rest. look so pretty over there!

I know, me too, it's so beautiful in there ( by the pics i've seen)

No, we have not been to Chef Mickey's. In May we did the QSDP, we didn't pay OOP for any others meals. We were happy where we ate and were just happy to be there for the first time! So, really Chef Mickey's wasn't that great for you? Hmm, Oh, I don't know anymore??? :headache:

I NEED A VACATION. By the time i'm done planning this trip and our wedding, i'm going to be locked up somewhere :upsidedow

Pam, I gotta chime in about Chef Mickey's too. We ate dinner there this past August and I was very disappointed. The food was just blah and not good at all. My son who will even eat a cheap frozen pizza just nibbled on the pizza there. We mostly ate salads and breads just to fill us up. The worst part was how dirty the floor and buffet were. I certainly won't be going back there.

We never eat a table service meal at Animal Kingdom. We usually go to Downtown Disney or one of the resort restaurants on our Animal Kingdom day. Given your kids' ages, they may like to eat at Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney. It's on the dining plan.

Whispering Canyon Cafe had good food too. It's another place that I think your kids would enjoy. They have stick horse races and if you ask your waitress for ketchup, they have you stand up and yell "I need ketchup" and soon there will be lots of people bringing ketchup to your table.

We've eaten at Coral Reef, Crystal Palace and Sci-Fi and like all three of them. I actually have pictures of our Coral Reef meal on my trip report if you want to take a look at them.

I'd swap out ESPN Club-- it doesn't scream "kids" or "Disney" to me. It really has a sports bar, almost Applebee's feel, which you could have anywhere!
Coral Reef is WONDERFUL, I have to say. DBF and I went there on our last trip and we count it as one of our best "dates" ever! Very kid friendly, but very romantic-- perfect for what you guys are going for!
I also have heard not great things about Chef Mickey's, but the atmosphere seems so fun for kids. I guess you have to weigh what's more important to your family-- great food or a fun atmosphere.

Hi Pam!!! Just wanted to share an awesome website I came across:

http://www.weddingfavorsunlimited.com/

Have Fun!!!!

Ooo, thanks, i'll go check that out!

Thanks for all of the advice. I'm surprised about Chef Mickey's, I guess it just looks like a fun place! I did see your pictures from Coral Reef, it looks great in there!

Thanks! I'll definitely have to think about Chef Mickey's now! And it's not like we won't see Mickey. We saw him twice on our May trip. Once at his house and once in AK!

GUESS WHAT!!!! We bought our rings tonight!!! We dropped the girls off at my mom's house to play with the puppy, Maggie!! (I have to post pictures of my lovey!!!) I am allergic to dogs, but I am drawn to this little munchkin anyway!

So, we dropped them off at 6pm and had our rings by 7:30. We fell in love with the first ones we looked at and we think the price was good! We kind of had a price range in mind and these were in it, so it was a go!!! They will be ready by next week and i'll post pictures of them!
Does anyone think that is bad luck, Manny does? I did take pics on my cell phone, but they are not clear enough for me to upload them to the computer, you can barely see the diamonds in mine!

OK, ONTO THE RESORT!!!! As much as i'd like to stay at CBR or CSR even, I think this year with the wedding and all it would be better for us to go with POP Century! As we've been dishing out all of this money for the wedding i'm going :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: How are we going to get this trip paid off! Now, granted we'll use the wedding $$ and we are registering for the Disney Honeymoon registry, so we'll have a huge help, but I just don't want to have to worry about anything! After making that decision I felt quite a relief. Also, when the girls look at the POP pictures, they ask if we can stay there. Emily keeps asking if we're staying at the hotel with Roger Rabbit!!!!

SO JANINE AND ANN WE'LL BE IN DISNEY WORLD AT POP AT THE SAME TIME!!!!

I've never heard any bad luck stuff about wedding rings or pictures of them. Don't know on that one. :confused3 Pop Century will be really cool. I'd like to stay there sometime because I really like the theming. I might get my chance when we go in November for my parent's Disney Vow Renewal. :goodvibes Your wedding location is beautiful. I'm sure everything will be so nice and pretty. Can't wait to see pics of your rings and the dress when you find it. :goodvibes

Hey Pam!
have to agree with Leanne; never heard anything about bad luck w/the rings before...
the POP is probably will be where we are staying too; esp, if I go with two rooms...I too like the decor there, and I like that they have their own bus.
:wave2: Connie

YIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo::banana::cool1::yay:

Your girls, Anthony, and yes, even Manny are going to LOVE it!!!!!!!

Are you guys taking an early flight in or a late one like us?
We want to take the 6:40PM flight to Orlando on Monday 9/20, so we will probably be arriving at Pop a little before 10pm. So, we will probably take a swim if its not too late, eat, or walk around the resort. I think POP century is an awesome place to take the kids. Everything is sooooo bright and cheery :lovestruc. Like I said, my family and I are mostly in the parks most of the time, so there is really no use in me forking out the extra cash for a mod or deluxe. Plus it really has that Disney feel too it :wizard:!!!!

I also think that it is AWESOME to register for Disney!!!!! That way you don't have to worry about getting a crockpot or anything like that :lmao:, and it will help you toward your trip/souvenirs. Let me tell you, if you plan on getting a cake like Ann's, which is absolutely GORGEOUS and looks delicious- don't forget to mail a piece to NJ :rotfl2: And I cannot wait to see those rings :bride:pirate:!!!!!

Have a great night, and Congrats!!!

I have to wait a WEEK to see them?!?!? You better post pics as SOON as you get them! ;)

POP is great, it holds a special place in my dd's heart b/c we stayed there our first trip. I had to convince her that ASMU would be fun too b/c just wanted to go to Pop again! :)
