A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

Well dang-- I didn't realize we MAYers had said anything funny over the course of the last few days.:confused3
It's actually been slow today in that thread. Hum... who knew?

Anywho... that comment about Tiger bait was highly uncalled for, but since you are thinking of pledging the MAYers, I shall over look it.:snooty:

:rotfl2:

Shelly--- why oh why can't I ever remember the name of the place we eat at in DHS? You know. We've talked about it before. Was it Studio catering? I think it was. And I've never eaten at WPE-- only the dining room. I have to do the express next time.
After seeing your list of restaurants, I started counting all the places we've eaten. It was shocking. I think we need a discount, we've been to so many!:rotfl2:

Trix.......:cloud9: love peanut butter. Peanut M&Ms, Peanut butter cups, peanut butter hot, peanut butter cold.... love it all. Nothing like hot toast with Pnut butter on it, all melty.

Yum.

Now... everyone be good and wish my Gators the best of luck tomorrow.

Kiss, kiss.

:rotfl:

Jo

I hope your Gators win every game except one this season! And I always pull for them in the NC game, where it seems they are EVERY YEAR!

ooohhhhh..pb on toast is the BEST!!!!!
We haven't done WPE yet...so, I am thinking we will eat there when we arrive that Sat. It's usually DTD for our first afternoon....where is it? I guess I have just never looked for it....I hope it's good after all these rave reviews!!!! Shelly...what do your kids get from there? My oldest is great---he will try anything new...even exotic food! But the other 2 not at all!!!

I hear you on wanting to skip Pizza Planet :rolleyes1
We snacked at Backlot Express last trip- had to do something to pass the time between tries at getting DS in the Jedi show. I the kids got the same old chicken strips you get anywhere but they weren't bad. DH and I only had the fries and some soda.

I'll be the opposite on Wolfgang though. We ate there on our honeymoon in 2001 and didn't care for it. Perhaps we'll give it a shot again next time. We didn't like Earl either but at least we didn't get warm PB- ewwwwww! Who eats warm PB??? (no offense if there is actually someone out there who does!;) )

I am not only wanting to skip Pizza Planet this time, I am doing it!! I need a break!

You should definitely give WPE another try. They got a new menu a few years ago.

I know, warm PB - GROSS!

Oh My! I never realized how many people eat warm PB- guess I'M the strange one then! Perhaps I should give it a try. :rolleyes1

Is the Studio Catering Co. the little place with picnic tables~kinda katty-korner to the B&B auditorium? I hope they don't close too early!! That was our dinner plan on our DHS day! We have the 50s place at 11:45 for lunch and was planning to eat here and jump over to the Osborne lights.I guess if that is closed we will just watch the lights and go the the Cont and eat in the food court.
Oh, Shelly! A milkshake sounds soooo good!!!!

I'm not really sure where the Studio Catering Co is! :confused3 Maybe that's how I'll decide which CS to do at DHS, whichever one we happen to be closest to when we get hungry!! :rotfl:

I know, I'll be having a big chocolate milkshake from Sci-Fi in 8 weeks from today!! :dance3:

I do! I do! :yay:

Grilled peanut butter (like grilled cheese~but with peanut butter and without the cheese) is delicious!!!

Oh! And peanut butter cups instead of chocolate bars on s'mores are delicious, too. They get all soft and melty...yummy! :cloud9:

And peanut butter M&Ms are to die for warm (like if they were sitting in your car on a hot day :rolleyes1).

I'm a weirdie. I'm okay with that. :lmao:

Trix.......:cloud9: love peanut butter. Peanut M&Ms, Peanut butter cups, peanut butter hot, peanut butter cold.... love it all. Nothing like hot toast with Pnut butter on it, all melty.

Jo

ooohhhhh..pb on toast is the BEST!!!!!

OMG look at all the warm PB eating weirdies (Trixie's word, not mine! :rotfl:)!!! :faint:

:sad2:

J/K

Oh My! I never realized how many people eat warm PB- guess I'M the strange one then! Perhaps I should give it a try. :rolleyes1

No, it's not you. . . . IT'S ALL OF THEM!! :rotfl2:

I remember talking about DHS CS, but I can't remember where is was either. :confused3

Yes, you should give WPE a try! :thumbsup2

I know, I was surprised by how many places we've eaten at too. I knew there were several but didn't realize how many until I actually sat down and typed it out. Good grief, we should all weigh 600 pounds! :upsidedow

There are actually 2 WPE at DTD. One is on the West Side right by the WP Cafe and the WP Dining Room. That one is small and only has outdoor seating. The other one (the better one IMO) is in the Marketplace. It had a rehab a few years ago and is really nice. Has lots of indoor seating and I think outdoor seating too. DS10 gets pizza and loves it. DS7 gets the chicken fingers and says it is the best chicken in all of Disney World! Probably because it's not the same chicken fingers/strips they serve everywhere else! They love the choc/van yogurt with chocolate chips for dessert too!

Afternoon PTR friends! :goodvibes

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It's kind of cool out here, I think fall has come early here in PA. :confused3 Hopefully we will have at least one more warm spell!

DS10 came home from school yesterday not feeling so well. Fever and chills. Yeah, after only 4 days of school. :sad2: He feels better today but has been sneezing a lot and has a nasty runny nose. Poor little guy. And tomorrow is his first ever "travel" soccer game. He has played in-house soccer since he was 5 and this year he was to the age where he had to try-out and make a team and travel and play other schools. His first game is away. So hopefully he will be all better tomorrow! :wizard: He would hate to have to miss the first game.

So we are just taking it easy today. Not doing too much. We may order in some dinner later.

I'm still here! Don't hate me....I've been reading along but just haven't posted. Heck, I haven't even updated my own trip report. Just too busy the last week or so.

Let's see what I wanted to comment on........oh, and keep in mind, I know that these are totally out of order.;)

1) The evening shows and fireworks are "must dos" on our lists;

2) My husband likes to take a more laid back approach to Disney too. He may not show it, but he loves it every bit as much as me and the kids;

3) Love your ADRs and your counter service choices. I agree with you on skipping Pizza Planet. Seems like we always end up eating there. Next year, I will insist that we eat somewhere else. Last couple of times we ate at ABC Commissary, it was beyond yucky! Backlot Express has the typical burgers, chicken, etc. but they've always been good;

4) Congrats on paying off the trip. It always gives me a wonderful tickle in my tummy!

Okay, I know I'm probably missing something but I guess that's it for now.

On our DHS day in January, we ate over by ToT and RNRC. I got a burger and Madison got chicken nuggets from Rosie's All-American Cafe and Tony got a turkey leg from Toluca Legs Turkey Catering Company. Fairfax Fries, Anahiem Produce and Catalina Eddie's are also over there. There is something for everyone!

Studio Catering Co. is back next to the Honey! I Shrunk the Kids playground.
I don't think it closes too terribly early, but we missed it barely on our last trip. It was actually kind of frustrating, because my youngest brother HAD to get Pizza Planet. His eating habits are a bit frustrating at Disney, because even though he likes plenty of other things, he insists on pizza for just about every meal. We got him Pizza Planet, then headed over to the Studio Catering Co. for the rest of us and it was already closed, so we all ended up at ABC Commissary instead. I ended up just getting Fries and a Chocolate Mousse, and refilled my water bottle. Everyone else got burgers, I think. I was mildly frustrated about all the walking around to find something to eat, because as a picky eater myself, I think my brother is giving us a bad name.

I do! I do! :yay:

I'm a weirdie. I'm okay with that. :lmao:

I tried the Peanut Butter Cup s'mores just the other day! We got s'mores stuff, but ran out of chocolate too quickly. I found out that Peanut Butter cups don't microwave well, (they just didn't taste that good) but if I just melted the marshmallow then stuck it on the peanut butter cup it tasted better.

One of my favorite things is Peanut Butter Blossoms with Peanut Butter Cups, instead of Kisses. It just makes them so much more peanut buttery.

Thanks for the help with getting my sig done...after dinner I will work on the ticker (gotta tend to family needs first);)

this is what I was talking about!! Last year(Jan) we got the kids a pickle and a pretzel from one of these! Love this little place(s).!! Thanks dearie!!!

Shelly...we will definitely be looking for this place!! I didn't really loooooove Earl of Sandwich..it was ok...but I didn't want to have to do it again! T-Rex is up on the list again for the kids, but I want to skip it! So...WPE here we come!!!

the only sandwich I really like at Earl of Sandwich was the caprese one... with the cheese.... it was yummy... WPE was MUCH better!!!! Plus you get the added benefit of being at DTD and can shop at the Christmas, kitchen and the Basin stores.... 3 of my favoirtes.....

YAY ~ I love DTD shopping!! :thumbsup2

Hi Shelley,

I found you're PTR! I am late joining ! I have read through the pages and will provide you with some thoughts and "opinions":goodvibes

I am so exicted for you and your family to be going again and so soon! I know DHS is your favorite park and we both share the same views on BBP - I am thinking of skipping this this coming trip... maybe by Jan they'll clue in that the Stars and Motorcars should come back! :rotfl:Actualy I would love this :lovestruc. I also will not do Pizza Planet this trip. We did it last trip and it was mad chaos - a Fantasmic day with tour groups. We went because we were hungry and it was there. The food was fine, it was just so loud!
Our other trips we have eaten CS at ABC commissary - never again - Blech!and Backlot Express. Backlot was nice and big and plenty of seating and as another poster said right next to the Jedi Training Academy- eating lunch here we saw Darth Vader out the window and headed out! However I also had the grilled turkey pepper sandwich and it was blech!

My DHS day for Jan has me planning on Studio Catering Co for a light salad - hopefully nothing can go wrong with that!:confused3

I am glad you got all your ADRs - you have selected some great choices. I am curious about Captain`s Grille and the Mexico restaurants. They seem to get mixed reviews.

I started my mock up intinery for Jan in hopes to narrow down my ADR`s. I did finish reading The Complete Walt Disney World 2009 this weekend, what a great book, so many hidden secrets.

I hope your son is feeling better and that soccer season goes well. This week sees DD starting her dance career - she will be taking recital Jazz and Contemporary- so we have a busy year ahead!

Happy Planning!

Joanne
