A Pink Pixie Princess - Complete!

Pretty toes!! Good luck on the next set of training. Can't believe you'll be back for another race in just a few weeks!!

Glad you are feeling totally recovered!

I finally made my first INB purchase after reading about them for so long on your reports - I bought the Shady Tech shirt since it was on sale. Not my favorite design (but not my least favorite!), but I wasn't willing to risk $50 on a shirt I might not like! So later this week, we'll see if you made me addicted or not!

Yay to free cars!! :car:
YESSSS :cool1:
Yay for a free car rental! You've gotta use those points for something, the car is an excellent use of points!

I love the pedicure! You definitely deserved that after everything your feet have been through lately!
Yes!! Man I love having credit card points!

I love the pedicure too! I tried a new place and really liked it a lot. :) And fun colors are a bonus!

Thanks! 1 day of training down...yay.

I can't believe it either. I almost feel a little guilty about it...and then Tink right after!

Me too! I was afraid I'd be hobbling around for at least a week but I am pleasantly surprised!

Yeah there are some great deals going on right now! I can assure you that Shady looks better in person than on the website. :)

Bling!

After I posted here yesterday I got around to finally hanging up my new medal holder! I ordered this from Allied Medal Displays around Thanksgiving and it's been sitting in a spare room ever since! (I highly recommend these medal holders - they have some good Disney-inspired ones, and while the holders themselves can get pricey, they seem really well-made/high quality.)

I have had the "If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It" one for awhile now. I love this phrase because it's obviously Disney-related, and I feel it applies to me, in a way. ME ME ME

I am not a natural runner, by any stretch of the imagination. I have to work at it...but so far, when I have decided I have wanted to do something running-related, I have put my mind to it and gotten it done. If you can dream it, you can do it! :wizard:

Thanks to runDisney challenges, my medal rack got pretty full quickly, so I knew I needed a second one! "It's Kind Of Fun To Do The Impossible" seemed like a super appropriate one as I was getting set to tackle the marathon, which...after the injury and getting back into things, seemed pretty friggin impossible! :wizard:

So here they both are! With the extra space I was able to spread out the medals I already had a bit more. I love it because now I can see them all a bit better! :)

With them all spread out! :lovestruc

Love all that bling!!! I've debated about getting a medal rack since mine are all crammed in a dresser drawer. :)

@Ariel484 Your medal racks look great! My running medals are starting to add up (nowhere near yours, but still a good number) and I'm beginning to think I need a medal rack as well instead of just having them laying out on my dresser/desk. My Wine and Dine Challenge medals are just in a stack next to my laptop. Haha. I love the ones you have and will need to look into them. Can I just ask how you arranged them so they hang at different lengths? I noticed that there are some that look like they're hanging from the same rod, but hang down to different points. Did you clip them or something?

The racks came with plastic clips that you attach to the ribbons! I think it helps to see all of them a little better. :)

Well since the impossible quote is my favorite Disney quote of all time I need to get that one. Sorry for stealing your idea but its just too good.

The medal racks look great!
(Much better than my idea of just stuffing them all in a box on my desk... of course, I only have 5 medals, so I can probably hold off on the medal rack for a little while)

Nice. I think I need one. :goodvibes
They are very nice medal racks! :)

I like having the medals hang up - it's fun to see them! :) You should hang yours up on something!

@roxymama @ZellyB - INKnBURN Lotus shorts! Hoping to run in them this weekend!

I'm liking the pocket placement for like a key/ID, because pockets on the hip area I sometimes worry about stuff falling out. They seem to be a good length too. let us know how they fit when running.
I'm on the very tempted side of the fence on these (since I'm not a huge fan of shorty shorts in this style)

Also that pullover is so cute...if my closest wasn't full of other blue or pink pullovers right now I'd have to bite.

I have an iPhone 6S in a somewhat slim case and it fits in the pocket really well. I had my phone in a pocket on a pair of tights for the marathon and it stayed put!

I like the length, too. If they stay in place during my run they will be definite winners!! They are super comfortable just wearing them around, but the run will be the true test!

1-year anniversary

So, sort of random, and only meaningful to me...I just realized that it has been a little over 1 year since the disc in my back decided to be a PITA.

I've come a super long way since then, and I am mostly choosing to focus on that, but I'll be honest: I was definitely expecting to be fully recovered by the 1-year mark, and I'm not - and that's a little disappointing. I'm still experiencing weakness on my left side and numbness in that foot. And still the occasional burning back pain. Again, light years from where I was, but not normal like I was hoping/expecting.

At some point I may just suck it up and make a follow-up appointment with Dr. Spine, but I think the bigger issue is that I just did not do my PT exercises for a few...um...months in the fall. :guilty: Maybe if I had stuck with them like I was supposed to, I WOULD be recovered by now. Who knows. I've been hitting them a little harder since the holidays and have noticed improvements - and I made it through the marathon with way less pain than I expected - so I think I need to keep going with them before I decide to try to make an appointment. It would be pretty embarrassing to show up, explain what I'm feeling and just have him say that I'm a dummy because PT is the answer. Good waste of the $35 co-pay. :confused3

But hey - a year ago I couldn't even walk across the street without having to stop and sit down because it hurt so badly, and I did just complete a marathon 11 days ago...so that's progress at least! :thumbsup2
