To the posters and readers of the DVC-Forum boards.

As many of you know, during the last few weeks we have had a few posters try to dominate some threads with sarcastic remarks that are meant to belittle other posters' comments. The DISboards have always considered these types of posts to be personal attacks against others, and is not allowed.

While we all believe that a free and open forum is ideal, we cannot allow forum rules to be broken. Forum rules cover items such as bypassing the word filter, or continued bashing of other users using snide or sarcastic remarks or ridicule about them or what they have to say. Forum rules are meant to keep the boards civil and suitable for free discussion by all.

Depending on circumstances, warnings in the way of PM's are usually sent to the offending poster, giving them a chance to understand their infraction, and to correct their posting styles.

Unfortunately some users insist on continuing to break posting rules.

As many of you have probably figured out, for the last couple of weeks, some board users have continued to violate posting guidelines, even after several notifications from moderators. Following board policy, we found it necessary to remove posting privileges for these accounts. One user was banned outright for continued attempts to bypass the word filter. Another was given a 2nd chance. Both were informed of the issues and policies involved and yet both chose to repeatedly violate the same policies almost immediately. We let it go for a few days before deciding it was a sufficient violation and that total loss of privileges from all DISboard access was warranted.

So far, between these individuals, they have created numerous new username accounts, and repeatedly returned to the boards to post comments. We will continue to monitor these issues as they arise. Please feel free to use the "Report This Post" feature if you find something that you feel violates the site guidelines or the spirit of the DVC Boards.

We take the reported posts and PMs from our users very seriously. Often our users will alert us of something before we are able to detect it ourselves. We investigate, discuss as a team and act on the decision we reach. We appreciate your patience and your support as we deal with these issues.

Thank you for working so hard to keep the overall tones of the boards respectful and friendly. Other travel forums can get downright crass and it's refreshing to not find it here. Thanks! :thumbsup2

I just want to say how much I enjoy reading the posts on the DIS and I appreciate all that is done to keep it an enjoyable and informative forum. It had gotten to where you didn't even want to see what "they" had posted next.

Thanks again! :thumbsup2

Thanks to all! And I promise never to say "poo-pooed" again to another annoying poster, I promise ;)

Thank you and hopefully those that left due to the nonsense will join us again in meaningful DVC discussion. :thumbsup2

Its the only forum I feel "safe" to be a part of. Thanks for your continued efforts to keep things this way.

As a former moderator for the AOL travel boards, it can be a tough job to stay on top of some people who purposly try to cause termoil on the boards.
These moderators do a great job staying on top but we as posters can help them out by quickly reporting any questionable posts.

Thank you DIS Mod's for making these boards so much fun to visit everyday!

Many, many thanks! I just recently joined the forum, but I dislike the negativity from the repeat bashers.
Keep up the great work :)
