This thread is certainly amusing. If anything, women control discussions on the DIS and in general men take a beating. I guess it would be useless to go back and pull up the old Johnny Depp threads where women express feelings clearly and repeatedly. And, of course, the divorce threads where pile-ons regularly occur.

Again, Johnny Depp isn't a poster here. I agree, women can be pigs too, no doubt about it. But, I don't think there was one poster in the ratty underwear thread asking for pictures of the poster wearing said underwear. Granted, eww, but you get my point LOL

Yeah, I'm surprised at this as well. Periods DO cause hormonal imbalances in most females. Why shouldn't our attitude or mood be blamed at times on PMS? It's a fact. I'm at a loss as to why this is even considered offensive or sexist or demeaning...

Because it has been used against women in the past. Man does something woman doesn't like, woman calls him on it, woman must be on her period to be so upset it can't possibly be the man!

That being said I do agree that hormones can be insane. I have a teenage daughter, I was a teenage girl. I see it and get it and agree that sometimes it is the hormones. I don't see blaming the teenagers attitude (from the thread) on hormones any worse than blaming it on Aspergers

Actors, not specific people on this site. I can't recall one female poster here asking to see a picture of a guy naked.

I just attribute that to the fact most of us guys here are pretty fugly fully dressed. And nobody wants to see any more than required

IIRC, the poster who suggested that has a child of their own with Aspergers. I don't think there was any malice intended.

I don't know which thread you all are referring to, or the context, but if I really have to explain the difference between

1. a man saying "This woman is acting like a _________, she must be on her period"

and

2. a person saying "This girl acts different so she could have Aspergers"

then common sense is pretty much lost and I don't really have anything else to say about it.

You've used the word piggish to describe the behavior. If I find the behavior of a person to be piggish, that usually means they have offended me. Not always, but usually.

I agree with you that women aren't being targeted here. It just seems like the eye rolling comments are increasing and I don't see why it's ok.

Is it okay? Have you contacted the owner of the board and / or a mod alerting them to the specific posts and asked if it's okay and if so, why?

They can't read minds and they certainly can't police every single post. If anyone feels something is questionable then, imo, their best course of action is to contact a mod and ask about it. Until then, it's an assumption that it's okay.

The board has a handy little "Ignore" button should a certain poster, or posters, post things that one does not care to read.

It was meant as a hey, here's what I've noticed thread. I guess I could have done it without mentioning certain posts but I think they would have come up eventually, or others like it.

And, if I was so easily offended, I would have walked away from this thread a long time ago. Either that or reported people or deleted my posts (even though they're all quoted lol). I've stuck it out though..
