A message for the guys..

I thought you meant mine from another wedding thread. But moving on to this one, do you really think the poster really meant that they should go nakie?

Of course not but why make the comment in the first place? That's the point I'm trying to make. i know that can be said about all the comments here based on someone's own opinion.

The only point of this thread was to point out that the comments had increased (NOT to make it a call out thread). I don't get offended easily. I'm not dainty by any means. If anyone told me to show naked pictures in a thread, I'd get points for my response. I can handle myself, but maybe everyone here can't. Maybe someone who is getting these comments or reading them is uncomfortable and doesn't want to say something. I'm saying it for them.

Since clearly you are indeed calling people out, I'll bite.

You can consider me "piggish" (as well as the female(s) asking the same thing) - but when given a scenario where a teenage girl is acting moody and grumpy, I still will consider it a possibility before passing judgment on the girl's upbringing. Perhaps you've been blessed with PMS that makes you want to sing show tunes while skipping around the yard, but based on women close to me, they don't have the same response to it. Some times they are in such discomfort they even take over the counter drugs to try and feel better.

Seems far more insensitive to bury our male heads in the sand and pretend it has no impact whatsoever ... and believe me, that's something we've all tried to do - and would prefer to do - but we're slammed when we do.

No, I've suffered, but why does it have to be used as an excuse. I can be a ***** just for the sake of being a *****.

But if you can remember as a teen - or raised teenage daughters - it is a real possibility. And it seems unfair to rule it out as a possibility and then crucify a 17 year old girl by assuming she's just being a ***** because she happens to be a *****.

People need to keep their minds out of the gutter. I have not read that topic but asking for photos on a big chested topic ? Sickening.

It was said in a joking manner, but I do understand why you would be offended.
It doesn't offend me, unless it's frequent or more sincere than joking.

I wonder why, OP, you are calling out those threads, but you ignore the fact that men get teased here as well. I've seen a few posts where the "ha ha, guys can be so dumb" type of comments have been made. Maybe you just happened to not have seen them? Neither bother me, personally, but I think it's a bit odd to point out one but not the other.

For everyone saying just to ignore it, does that mean I can start swearing and if you don't like it, you can ignore me? I know the rules say no swearing but IF they didn't. I haven't read the rules but I'd be surprised if be respectful isn't in there.

Yes, I think so.

I just read the teen drama with nephew thread. . The originator of the on her period line of thought is a female or at least purports to be. Can't blame the men for that one.

Ok, let's call this one moot. There are still lots of other examples. If you were walking down the street with your wife and some random guy walked up to her and said lets see you naked would you tell her to just laugh it off and ignore it? My guess is that you'd put him on his back. Why is it any different here?

I don't what I'd do.

But I know for a fact if it were the right time of the month, my wife would knock his lights out. :D

Sorry (seriously) ..... I just couldn't resist.

I've noticed that. That is probably the most blatant double standard I've seen here.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think maybe the distasteful comments made by men are more noticeable because there aren't many male posters.
Yes, I do and like I said earlier, none of the comments have bothered me.
So if you were out with your daughter and some random guy walked up to her and said lets see you naked you'd laugh it off and say, boys will be boys? Your husband/boyfriend would feel the same? I know I wouldn't be ok with it and my husband would DEFINITELY not be ok with it.
Did that happen and get mentioned on a thread? Because I thought we were discussing posts on a message board that is inhabited by, from what I can tell, almost exclusively adults.
I wouldn't care if he said it anonymously on the internet. It wouldn't even be a blip on my radar. I don't let anonymous strangers control my emotions.
I haven't seen any one poster specifically calling another poster dumb..can you quote an example please?
Also, right or wrong, there is a difference between calling someone dumb and asking for naked pictures and suggesting (joking or not) that they go to a party naked. I can't be the only one who sees the difference?
You're avoiding the question..
Because in the case of "go nakie," in the wedding attire thread, nobody is walking up to anyone or even suggesting they actually want to see anyone naked.
No I can't quote an exact post right now but I know I've seen more than a few where people start ragging on their husbands including alluding to how dumb they are(which is how I see most of what I think you're referring to...alluding).
I actually do get what you're saying. I don't think the posts you're referring to were that serious. I mean.... I admit that I just skim most posts but did someone actually ask for naked pictures or made an offhand comment like "Pics or it didn't happen." I think there is a difference...
There is a report button. If someone says something uncomfortable or creepy they can be reported. I don't think the mods would take those kinds of complaints lightly. Maybe it's not bothering as many people or maybe it's not being reported :confused3
