I didn't have time to go back and read everyone's responses, but I really feel like you just arent' going to miss those park hoppers, at all! Your schedule looks great, with a good balance of late nights and sleep in time. Good move to ship those costumes down ahead of you!

I feel you anxiety of park hours not coming out "in time". I hate that! It really seems unfair and a bad deal for those of us going earlier in the month. Boo!

Just noticed this little tidbit on MousePlanet:


…For some reason, we haven't yet listed the fact that Disney has extended the 10 percent discount for using the Disney Rewards Visa card into the theme parks. Traditionally, the discount has only been available at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. It's only available at Disney-owned and -operated locations for purchases of $50 pre-tax or more. It's not valid on many types of merchandise, including ticket media, gift certificates, video, DVD, cameras, and so forth.

Your best bet, if you're using your Disney Rewards Visa card is to ask ask if the discount is available.


I don't think I'll be making any huge purchases, but perhaps some of you can use this information!

So.... with a few cuts here and there, we will save a total of ~ $625!

The Baic Dining Plan will cost us $160 per day, or $1280. So, with the money I'll save I figure that covers almost half of our Dining Plan!

Gosh, it really stinks that we DVCers couldn't get in on Free Dining!

Nice work Kathy! I love saving $. Before I had an AP there were several times where I omitted the park hopping. I think its useful when the crowds are high, but when the parks are a moderate level I do not think having a non-park hopping ticket has much impact on a trip. There are many times where I like to go back in the evening to "finish" the same park I started in.

I like your 2.0 itinerary. You are so close now.

I must comment, I had NO idea transportation costs to the airport would cost that much. Yikes! Thank goodness for getting a ride one way!

Unfortunately, that's what we get for living in the general vicinity of NYC!
It's a lot more to travel out to JFK airport than it would if we were using our usual Newark Airport; but we saved so much $$ on airfare!

It is true...I saved some $$$ that way a couple weeks ago...but you have to ask for the discount and in most cases use your Disney Visa to pay for the purchase.

Yes, the discount isn't being advertised... you do need to ask!

I always thought it was a bit wacky to make us go to WOD for the discount... there's a lot of impulse-buying that goes on in the parks!
