We've been here at SSR since the 15th - wonderful stay as usual.....except...
apparently we're not the only ones who have had issues with their reservations - you should have heard the people checking in this morning..
Ours was minor - we were on a waiting list for the last night and the waitlist came through several weeks ago - I called MS twice to make sure we could stay in the same room and they said "no problem, same reservation number" . I had to check in online twice though... called again - same "no problem - same room" Got to SSR - front desk cm disappears for 10 minutes and comes back saying -there's a problem, you'll have to change rooms" After another 1/2 hour, they said they found one room we could stay in for the whole trip, but, we'd have to go down and get new room keys on our last day. (today) The CM said they were having "some problems" with the upgraded ressie system. I called last night to verify the need for new room keys. , and they said "yes, if you don't get new room keys, you won't be able to get back in the room". We go down this morning, and there's a line of at least 30 people, many of whom said they had problems with their ressies as well. Once we got to the cm, they said "no need to get a new room key - why would you think that..." Obviously, there are some issues...Hopefully they'll get them resolved soon.

Hope everything was sorted out today. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Just another FYI, not all of the resorts have switched to the new system yet. Until they do, they can't use the information from your Travel Plan if you change resorts during your stay.

Based on Disney's and DVC's history with computer systems and websites is anyone surprised by the problems that are being reported? Moreover, don't be surprised if, as in the past, it takes about two years for them to fix all the problems (which any computer savvy company could probably fix in less than a week). I am beginning to believe Disney outsources all of its computer systems work to the Bernie Madoff Computer Systems Co. which gave Disney a deal that was too good to be true.

We got the new key thing as well, but was told we were all set when we went to do it!

When we checked into AKV on 12/1, there were lots of problems. My brother's room hadn't been made up by 6:00 PM, the DME luggage didn't show up until 11:00, we tried to put a credit card on our room "key" and gave up. I didn't even try to put our park tickets on the keys. I spoke to a CM a couple of days later and they were still having problems with the reservation system. He said that on the first day his job was to break up fist fights. I think he was exaggerating, maybe just a little. I've posted the first day mess on our trip report here.

We checked into AK on dec 22. More computer problems with the system upgrade there. My husband can't use his key to charge to the room or use his dining plan. And the cast members can't figure out what the problem is. They even gave him a new card. That is beyond frustrating!
Also we booked a Jambo Value studio. Two people two times at the check in desk told us how lucky we were to get a Savannah view with the Value booking. We went to the room and it was a parking lot view. We inquired about that since they made such a big deal about the Savannah view and blamed that on the computer also. :confused3

On the 15th of Dec, the last upgrade, all DVC resorts are now included. We were informed of this when we checked in to BLT. The CR CM informed of the final upgrade for all DVC resorts.

can't wait for the on-line booking to begin:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao::eek:

It'll be great. At check-in, they'll give you some funny glasses and tell you to enjoy your on-line only room. Of course you'll still have to ask for a blender, so it will be quite amusing looking at all the people with funny glasses carrying around a blender.
