when did you place the actual order? if you don't mind

I placed my order with HP Sunday Aug.21 around 2ish pm EST.

Has anyone who ordered through HP SB gotten a definite "It has shipped" email with tracking #?

I'm starting to picture 3 guys in a small room with 6 miles of computer paper spitting out of their printer. They're scratching their heads saying what the heck!

I still cannot get thru to HP SB... and NOW my credit card status where it said pending is not there.. there are no charges or pending charges from HP. I did get a confirmation from them on Sunday, I did get an order number..... yet nothing has happened.. I have not gotten an email stating they are canceling my order. Their site stated after Monday! I ordered Saturday. If this does happen, I will get a statement from my credit card company showing how they had pending charges, I will wait until they are no longer swamped and show them my pending charges, my confirmation email and ask where was my email showing that they canceled it! I could very well have ordered from elsewhere, I had time.. and did not.. this is pure BS.. they have no customer service. In one aspect, maybe this is a blessing in disguise..

Maybe they read these boards and saw my post on who their business practices's suck

Wow! The one I ordered from macmall on Monday left Montgomery AL at 3:00am and will be delivered today (to Mobile)!

I didn't even pay for expedited shipping!

I placed my order thru the HP SMBS site. My CC was charged, two emails and still says that the shipping date is Aug.26. Trying to get into the details of the order and but it's taking forever.

Yeah they are supposed to replenish their stock, so now we have to stalk them again, lol!

This shows "no order found" when I put in my order number! My CC still hasn't been charged. But I fit within the pre-4 a.m. Monday window. Guess I'll be calling this afternoon!

ETA: I tried the link on p. 11. It still shows a current order, but when I try to view, it asks me for the zip code. When I put the zip code in, it shows "unable to load order from Vista." I must say, at this point, I'm not hopeful.

Here I go assuming again.

I would assume that if they are actively soliciting more customers, that all confirmed orders will ship at some point.

I've ordered three in two separate transactions.

Yesterday I received a confirmation email on the one order - the last one I put in late Sunday evening for one 16G.

The first order on Sunday noonish I received the 'Your TP purchase has been received' email but no confirm yet. That was for two of the 32's. Both through small and medium business.

Anyway, not losing sleep, if they come, they come. If they don't come, I'll save some money. Both orders are still pending on my Amex.

And, everyone I know now wants one - but mine are all for family - nothing for sale.

It may be available at that store. But I wouldn't travel out of my way thinking that it would be there when I got there. If you are thinking about going to BBY, it would be better to call that store and pay for it over the phone (if they can do that). Also any of the Touchpads that are purchased at Best Buy after 8/20 cannot be returned to the store for any reason. They are final sale.

On the phone my local Best Buy said there wasn't any. On a whim, I went there on my way home from work and they had one left at Customer Service. You are correct, no returns even if the product is defective. For defective products, you have to go thru HP. THey said to check back in a couple of days that they MAY get more in. I am very excited I got one but I was hoping for 2 so I could give 1 to my DH as well. They only had the 32 GB ($149) at that store.

Darn, me too, same time via phone after holding for 2 hrs. However, the rep (who took my order) called back at 10 am and cancelled my order. He didn't tell the truth about what happened...told me my (zero balance) cc blocked the sale. Liar. So a supervisor is supposed to call me back.

Now looking back he kept saying that he just came in to work and had no idea the frenzy with the touchpad...makes me wonder if he purposely cancelled my order. . At this point I'm not holding out for any miracles.

Amen! I couldn't agree more. It would have been nice to get one at this low price but the fact that my order was cancelled is not the end of the world.
You are right there are much more important things to wish and pray for.

Does anyone have a good phone number for onsale? The one listed on amazon keeps saying network busy try your call again. 800-896-2011 is that phone number.

I ordered it the 32g on 8/21. It still shows shipment pending. They have not responded to my email of 8-23-2011. The estimated shipment is supposed to be received 8/23 to 8/24. They have not charged my cc either.
