$99 HP Touchpad

Of course, hubby (who was skeptical about me ordering this anyway because he's an Apple snob) decided he wanted one AFTER I sat on hold for an hour with Macmall. I called right back and got straight through to my salesman who had given me his extension and they had just sold out! Think I should share mine?

first off, I can't believe I found this thread on DisBoards. I searched via Yahoo for info on this sale and most replies/sites came up on Disboards, so I had to join, lol.

I originally got through on HP Small buisness on Sunday morning, I got (2) 32GB pads, I got a confirmation# but only got an email saying my order was received but not shipped. I called HP small buisness today and got a hold of someone after 2 hours and she said when my order is accepted, I will get another email.

In the mean time, I found out about ONSALE on Amazon and ordered 4(16GB) pads and 4(32GB) pads. Looks like those went through, I got emails with order numbers and shipment dates and my credit card company called to make sure no one stole my card, lol I confirmed no one stole it and confirmed the orders for the 8 touchpads. So, the Amazon order looks great, looks like I am backordered for HP small buisness though, and that is okay, I don't need 10 touch pads!!! If I get all that are ordered (10), I will post that here and offer them first come first serve at cost/shipping. I am not looking to "score" here, lol. I don't need 10 touchpads...........lol. Right now, I got 2 for my kids, 1 for a friend's kid, one for my brother. So, I would have 4 excess if all goes through, and perhaps 6 excess if HP small buisness panned out. please don't PM me, just go through here on the forum if you would be interested, remember, first come first serve (if it all pans out of course)

I got an order in Sunday morning through HP SMB. Got the email saying that they got the order, overwhelmed, etc. Was able to find order status last night, but link is down now. Hope I got one for hubby. I'm tired of him stealing my iPad.

If it didn't work though, I'd love one of yours!

Like I said, if this all pans out!! Amazon states should be delivered by 8/30 and perhaps the 8/25, but no tracking info yet but it states it wont be shipped until today!

Ordered mine from Macmall yesterday and was advised I would receive it on Wednesday.
Got a call this morning from salesman at Macmall saying that my Jetblue amex rejected the charge. I gave him my Costco amex card number. Called Jetblue amex and was informed they approved the charge yesterday.
Called salesman at Macmall and left a message. He called me back and said the second amex also refused the charge. I said this is bull. He told me to call Macmall's billing department at 1-800-682-1042.
I spoke to them and they said Both transactions had been approved but they would onli charge one credit card and the item will be shipped.
I have not seen the charge yet on my credit card and my order does not show a fedex tracking number thus far.
I called all the stores in my area Bestbuy,Walmart, Sam's club etc.
They said there were none to be had anywhere in the Austin area,. A couple of stores said the ones they had in stock were all grabbed up by store management.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get one.
I saw this article that states HP will be offering more in the coming weeks.

I will keep everyone updated. I only ordered one as my dh is a Mac snob....now he wants one and my ds said he would like one to carry on college campus but didn't ask fo one as he thought they were too expensive but at $100 -$150 he could pay for it himself.

The HP lady told me today ( after staples sent me an "oops sorry" letter today , when I thought all weekend I was in luck ) that HP Canada is not getting any more, that only the US site has a chance at getting more inventory.

I am sooooo bummed I wanted one very much for my DD's 16th birthday - she is very tech deprived and would be over the moon with this.

Steeler- I would be interested in one as well. It would make a great Christmas present to my (many) kids- especially since I just started working after being unemployed for 2 years (hence just booking a Disney trip since we have been shut ins for 2 years). LOL

Yes you were right, Saturday the 20th. But I re-read all the tweets and may have jumped the doom and gloom a bit. The breakdown is this:

1. credit card charged
2. confirmation # (appeared as webpage only)
3. confirmation email with order status link

If you have all 3, your order will be fulfilled as inventory becomes available. The odds are decent you will get your order.

If you only have 1 and 2, you are back ordered and may get your order. The actual tweet said "up to you if you want to cancel, but worth a shot 2 hang in there".

There was a confusing post that mentioned a second confirmation email, but I think that was a typo. At least I hope so, since I got in before most everyone else on Saturday.

again, I can only get rid of the "extras" if this all pans out, I have 8 ordered through Amazon that look like they will be shipping..........HP small buisness, 2~32GB pads only HP knows! I will post if HP cancels and I will post when I get the ones from Amazon, crossing fingers. I will keep in touch with everyone, good luck all! Someone would have to direct me in how to get rid of the "extras" this way if this all pans out, I would be glad to make some childs Christmas!!!!

I am worried about ours. Best Buy still says it is being processed. If by some chance there are still 2 extra floating around I'd appreciate a chance at them. They are for my kids. I can't believe how invested I am in this!

Me too, mine still says processing but then it says this when you click on the order link: Order Status: 1 item(s) - Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in null - null days

What is up with the null days LOL I paid with Paypal so if they are not going to ship it and the order is null....then they better be refunding my money.

My account has also been charged for the 2 that I ordered from onSale through Amazon. However, I have not seen an additional confirmation of shipping, just an expected arrival date on the Amazon site. Last night I sent an email to onSale via Amazon. I am waiting on a response from them.

In other news, I spoke to HP yesterday and was told that I was on the list to be fulfilled; but, the two authorizations sitting against my CC have dropped off. I also saw a call from San Jose, CA on my caller ID with no message left. (I am guessing that was HP calling me since I don't know anyone out in high tech land, except the friendly, swamped HP people I have spoked to recently!)

Still keeping my fingers crossed but not holding out much hope. I was really hoping to get a couple for my DDs so they would stop hijacking my laptop to surf the web.

(If anyone gets extras, I would be interested in purchasing from them.)
