9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

i'm really happy at the mo!
you know all that stuff that kicked off at work, and i left? well when i left my boss said she'd pay me til the end of the month and my outstanding holiday pay, well i thought there's no way of that happening. i was just expecting to be paid my holiday pay and nothing else. and i thought i'd have to fight for that. i was totally expecting her to stab me in the back.
well i've just checked my bank account and she's paid me everything. a full month's wages and my outstanding holiday pay. its taken sooo much pressure off me, it means i dont have to worry about paying for the rest of the holiday and i can go and enjoy ourselves.
i'm so relieved right now.

We're going to buy our new flooring tomorrow for the room we're re-doing! We found an awesome deal for some wood flooring and it's only going to cost us $200 to do the room (versus the $500 we were originally planning for). We're putting it in ourselves, so I'm REALLY hoping it will be done before the cruise. The carpet in that room is just so yuck. And I hate that the baby crawls around on it

It was a good day for us....although my shoulders are hurting from all of the yardwork I did today

Greg and i should have some extra cash for the trip since we are doing a dollar dance @the reception. for those who dont know a dollar dance is where guests pay to dance with the bride or groom they did it at my sisters wedding my mom paid $20 to dance w/my BIL and my stepdad paid $50 to dance with my sis. It is so funny my BIL's best man pid to dance with him they were GREAT!!!! It was a true YOUTUBE moment!!! they usually do 2 songs so everyone can dance with us.

never heard of the dollar dance before but it sounds like fun, and yay for more money for the honeymoon!!

loving the dancing smilies! and now its 60 days til we cruise!!

there's due to be a shuttle launch in august. it was scheduled for the start of the month, then got pushed back to the 15th, now its been pushed back til "late august". i'm hoping they push it back further to when we're there!

i'm a bit peeved with the disney cruise website. every so often when i open the US disneyworld website, it redirects me to the UK site. but now the disney cruise website is redirecting me to the UK WDW site too. i cant get on the cruise site. its annoying me, i know its too early yet but i'm anxiously checking the site every few days for room assignments!!
ETA: i've managed to get round it by going directly to the reservations section instead of the homepage. i hope they get it sorted soon though, its annoying!

sorry to rub it in but 48 days for us!!!
i think i'm going to book our MNSSHP tickets soon and divequest. i'm really looking forward to doing that again. i booked divequest as a wedding present for gary, then was really jealous because i wanted to do it too! thats actually the reason i got scuba certified. its just so relaxing yet so fun at the same time! i'm going to try and book it for the night we're at le cellier, its EMH that night so we can have the whole night in epcot!

Dang it! The storm clouds went away for a little bit, and now they're back in full force with bad thunder and lightning. I had just finished setting up the kiddie pool for the baby when it rolled in. Here's the sky from our backyard:

I've heard of the dollar dance before; I know on wedding boards it creates a lot of controversy. We didn't do it at our wedding, by my husband is really shy and only did two dances with me anyways...LOL.

My husband's cousin did it at their wedding and they made a good amount, but someone on the wait staff actually stole a lot of the cash from them.

those clouds look really bad, we had bad storms here friday night, it knocked our power out for a few hours. we got bored so went down the pub!! :

its just been really dull and cloudy here all day, bit of drizzly rain but just sucky weather all day.

yeah i have heard slot of people say that it is tacky but everyone in my family LOVES it and they think it is fun and cute so we are doing it i just had to promise greg that the dances would be slow. Well I had to take my mom to the hospital again her breathing wasnt good they are keeping her atleast overnight but her (and i know someof yall wont get this) O2 saturation was up to 94 and for a person with cronic asthma and COPD that is pretty dang good but they want to keep her (and the wonderful MORONIC DR, wanted to give her asprin which it clearly states on her chart that she is allergic to!!) Then she asked well what kind of reaction would you have if you were to take MOM said "I WOULD DIE!!!"
But she seems to be doing fine and is not happy that they want to admit her but hopefully she will be home 2morrow night.
I CANT TAKE MUCH MORE STRESS!!!
this on top of wedding plans and FAMILY PROBLEMS(will explain later when my head stops hurting) my head and hair cant take much more.
Sorry im venting to yall but you always seem to listen to me and make me feel better.

Lainey, I hope things are going better with your mom. That stinks about the hospital wanting to give her asprin, I know my sister and neice have problems with that all the time because they are allergic to penicilin (or however you spell that) and they are constantly trying to give them something that has that in it.

Still no room number for the GTY 12!! But I keep checking every day, LOL!! Gives me something to (hopefully) look forward to!

Steph, those clouds looked pretty bad! Hopefully you didn't blow away, LOL!! We had nasty storms at my Dad's house on Friday night, poor Tim had to drive home from his motorcycle class all the way through them. The warning actually said "the line starts in Pontiac and extends north to Braidwood" which is EXACTLY where he was driving. The power was out for 3 hours, and I had to stay up to help my dad bail out the sump pump a couple of times so his basement wouldn't flood.

Well, it's back to work today!! I think i'm going to take a couple of days off to study this week, I have my first CPA test next week!! It was supposed to be this month, but I kept pushing it back because I didn't have enough time to study. But, I have to take two tests by the end of August, so time is up!!

Karen, I meant to ask you -- you are renting points from AKL, right? And adding on the dining plan? When do you have to pay for the dining plan if you add it to that? I think that we are going back in December and renting points from my friend at work again, and I wasn't sure when we would have to pay for that. Thanks!!

yeah you can add DDP to a DVC reservation, you pay for it when you arrive and check in!! its helping my budgeting no end at the mo!!

right, someone posted on the UK board that they've opened more reservations for september.

i know a lot of you were trying to get le cellier reservations, i've booked lunch reservations for 2 people at 12.40pm on monday 21st, tuesday 22nd and wednesday 23rd before the cruise. i've also done one for 2.05pm on the monday 28th as i know mary and tim aren't together til after the cruise.
i've already got a reservation for le cellier for myself but i made these three just in case you guys still wanted to try it. (and in case they all went before you managed to get on and check the site)

let me know if you want them and i'll give you the reservation details if they're not any good to anyone, i'll cancel them.
