9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

Thank you! Bob and I had an Hawaiian themed wedding here in Chicago. The wedding was themed from the idea of Ohana from Lilo & Stitch....which is also why we named the dog Lilo. We had a Disneyland/Hawaii Honeymoon!

Those are pretty dresses, Donna! I was in first seating but I switched to second seating because it seemed like everyone else on this thread was in second! Me, Mary, Karen, and Lainey are all going to sit together. It'll be nice to sit with people I somewhat know!

I called DCL and tried to get the second seating for dinner, but I was told that since the cruise is free (with the DVC Voucher) that I can't pick our dining and won't know where our stateroom is until we check in.

Lainey, I LOVE your dress. I am all about sparkles...which I would have had when Bob and I got married...but I figured second marriage, married at 44...best not sparkle!

I am in for the FE. Although I need a little clarification...do we do treats for everyone in each cabin? It's ok with me either way...I have lots of ideas and want to know before I get started.

Also sorry ladies if I am slow to respond today...I work at a medical association and the phones are ringing off the hook today...don't these silly doctors know I want to spend time on the DisBoards!

last time we did gifts for the cabin.
some people do gift per cabin, some do per person, its entirely up to the person giving the gift i think.
donna, do you have a reservation number? if you do you might be able to view your booking on the disneycruise website and check your room assignment and dinner seating. chances are that they'll put you on second anyway, as first is infinitely more popular and normally has a waiting list of people wanting to get on it! if its any consolation, i'm in a cat 12 gty room, so i wont know my room assignment until about a month before we cruise.

Ok, I checked online....mine says: Dinning: Main Dinner Seating, category 6. I did notice they have our flight information backwards...they have the arrival information switched with the departure information. I guess that really won't matter, we are planning on renting a car to get to Port Canaveral...so I don't need the Disney Transportation.

For FE is anyone traveling with children? If so boys, girls...ages? As you can see I am already in planning mode.

Lainey and I are both on the same deck. Hopefully, you guys will end up nearby.

FutureDIS hasn't been on this thread since the start of it so I'm not sure if I would count that person in for the FE. Unless you've talked to that person through PM, Karen.

I remember when my ticker had a year on it! It's crazy to see it at less than 6 months now!

EDIT: Nope, not traveling with any children. Just me and the DBf.

Donna, you'll be on the first seating then. but a cat 6 is nice for a free cruise!! who did you call to ask about which dining you're on? we're all on second seating now (jenny switched from first).

i havent spoken to futuredis, but she was the first person on here to bring up the FE, so she'll probably still be up for it. i'm going to start looking round for stuff, but not really going to be seriously shopping for stuff til closer to the time, as there's bound to be more people joining.

My sister won tickets to U2, FLOOR SEATS. And I'm going to be on the ship that day. I can't complain but I've been waiting for them for 4 years to come around and it has to be while I'm on vacation!

Jen, that stinks!! Seeing a concert up close like that is awesome!! My DSis & I went to see Rascal Flatts last year and had second row seats -- now I am spoiled!! This year, we are seeing them on my Birthday at Wrigley Field -- I am SUPER excited about that, and hoping that I have great seats!! I get fan club seats, so you don't know where they are until you get there, but usually they are awesome.

Donna, no kids here. And don't ask what the hold up is, LOL!! I get that all the time!! We've been married almost 5 years, but DH wants to wait. Try telling that to certain people in my family though!!

Lainey, your dress is really pretty!! I just love wedding dresses!! I absolutely loved mine, I wish that I could wear it for something again. Some people wear their for Halloween or something, but I think that would be a little over the top. Not to mention heavy, and hot!! But fun!!

It does stink! I can't complain though because it's not like I"m going to be stuck at work or something. I'm going to be on a cruise ship! With you guys! If there's karaoke that night, can one of you perform a U2 song for me? With sunglasses on ala Bono?

Karen - I logged into the Disney Cruise Line website and it had my trip listed on there. With the free cruise voucher we were restricted to certain dates we could redeem it...and September is still part of Hurricane season, so I am assuming that is why those dates were among what we could have picked from. Since we already had our fall vacation booked, we just added the cruise to the front end of it. The voucher had a special number to call and make the reservation and a code you had to give to book....they never asked me about which dining seating I would prefer.

Mary - LOL, you really made me laugh about your family being anxious for you to have children. My husband keeps telling Brittany he is too young to be a Grandfather...so she better wait until he is about 55 (we are both 48). When I married my first husband, the plan was to wait 5 years, and learn to be a married couple....plan went right out the window (not on purpose) and two months after our first anniversary I had Kelly. I am glad I had her when I did, my mom passed away when Kelly was 5, so at least she got to know her grandmother a little.

Ok...so it looks like no kids, on the FE, so no toys for presents! That helps with planning.

I have to get a few drinks in me before I will consider karaoke. I'm all for singing in my car and in the shower but in front of people...even people I don't know...not so much. Maybe I'll bust out some old school NKOTB!

A cruise with U2...interesting. They're doing a NKOTB cruise next month. That's going to be chaos.

Is anyone going to MNSSHP?

We are going on October 2nd...and we are deciding if we should dress up or do a t-shirts like we did for Pirates and Princess

Or just a family shirt like we used for My DS 21st Birthday Trip, except with a Halloween Picture

I have a couple costume ideas but they aren't exactly ride friendly!

Thanks! I loved the shirts and the Disney Photopass cast members always seemed to take lots of extra pictures of us because we matched. My photo CD had 150 pictures on it!

A few other Disers made the designs for me...just check out The Just for Fun section then Creative Community Thread. They sent me the files, then I printed them on transfers at home...and my hubby did all the ironing...it was so funny, he measured and marked the shirts before he would even let the iron touch the fabric!

Surprisingly he really got into the whole "Dis" Thing....he wore a Dis green neon shirt, we had one of the Dis stuffed crocodiles for one of our trips...we got great pictures of it all over Disney World...we went on a fireworks cruise with people we met here on the boards. The man has totally embraced and become a big part of my Disney Obession.
