i'm going to call disney cruise and link our reservations, lainey, can you send me your reservation number and i'll get it all done. cant wait, its all official now!!

I've never stayed at POR and I'm looking forward to it. We took a side trip to check it out last time we were down in Orlando and it's just so beautiful! I can't wait to stay there. I'm afraid I'm going to get lost though, it's so big!

DVC would probably be a good investment for me one day!!

I love NKOTB. I have for 20 years! I'm planning on seeing them June 13 when they come back to NJ. This will be the 4th time on this tour. :rolleyes1

Port Orleans Riverside is beautiful, we usually try to get in Alligator Bayou building 18. It has a quiet pool there, you are not far from the bus stop and it is a beautiful walk to the Riverside Mill to grab something to eat. If you want to go to Downtown Disney and you don't want to take the bus you can take one of the river boats there. Also you can take a romantic horse and buggy ride around the property.

You have seen NKOTB four times this tour! I only got to see them once in the early 90's, I took my niece to see them...she is still a fan, and her hubby sent her to the concert when they were in Chicago last year. My daughter is a huge Backstreet Boys fan, since 1998 I bet I have seen them with her at least 60 times in different arenas all over the US. I even drove once to Orlando in 1999 in the middle of a snowstorm here so she could see their New Years Eve concert (they were taping the show for cable).

Somehow my daughter can talk me into just about anything...for example, I am home today from work, I had oral surgery yesterday, and I am full of packing in my mouth, I am taking mega antibiotics and pain pills...and she comes down to tell me she bought two tickets for us to see Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal in Rent tomorrow night...now a sane person would say, "sweetie, I can't even bring my teeth together, my face is so swollen I look like the Godfather. I can't go see Rent with you." Apparently I am not a sane person because I said "Sure if I don't have to drive":lmao:

My DH, Bob, and I have only been married a short time (It will be five years on Saturday), but we have been to Disney twice a year every year since 2001. We looked at DVC in 2003, but passed on it because we were planning the wedding, and having three kids between us (they were 16, 17, 18 at the time) that we were all in private schools....money wasn't exactly plentiful. Flash forward to 2009, my step-daughter (she is oldest) is married, my daughter is working full time and supporting herself although she lives at home, and my step-son is working and mostly supporting himself. So when we did the math of two trips per year which runs about $4000 - $5000 with all the bells and whistles...we could pay for DVC in about three years. So for us the time was right to buy....plus now with the DVC including Hawaii (which is the only other place we like to vacation) we decided to go for it!:cool1:

yeah sounds like it works out great for you! we were looking at it last year but we havent got the money for it at the mo. but maybe sometime in the future!

We took the boat ride from DTD to POR last time we were down. I loved it! I'm always up for taking the boats instead of the buses. I liked that you could see the Treehouse Villas being built too!

Yes, I'm obsessed with NKOTB, can you tell? I saw them once on the Magic Summer tour back in the day at Giants Stadium and I was way up top; so I'm making up for lost time on this tour. My DBf thinks I'm crazy. I just can't get enough of them!

Wow, 60 times for BSB? I thought I was bad! :rotfl:

I love Rent! I went to see one of the last performances on Broadway. I wanted to see those guys when they toured Jersey but I missed out!

Let us know when you get it linked Karen! And please let us know if we all have to do it or it'll be all set once you do it.

just waiting for Lainey to get back to me, then i'll give them a call. will keep you all updated. hopefully we wont all have to call and that one call will sort it out

Jenny....LOL, there is always a story behind a story. You see when my mother was a teenager, my grandmother took her to see Elvis...which led to grandma taking my mom to a bunch of state fairs to see him. Then when I was a teenager my mom took me all over to see the Osmonds, we would take two weeks each summer and follow them on their concert tours. So naturally when Kelly was 13 and discovered the Backstreet Boys, I felt I had to follow tradition and do the same thing for her. All of my friends tell me that the women in my family have a really strange mother-daughter bonding tradition...but it's fun, and we both have made lots of life long friends from the experience.

I clicked on your pre-trip report, you and your DBf are so cute! I wish him luck with his film. My ex husband (Kelly's Dad) was Vice President of a movie theatre chain, so Kelly grew up in screening rooms and she went to Columbia for film editing and screen writing...which is probably why she is managing a movie theatre now while she works on her screenplay...she LOVES Film. Rent is Kelly's favorite play. I was on a business trip to New York and I took her along...she found out that if you have a school ID that says you attend a program in the arts that you can see plays for $25...she spent the entire week on Broadway while I was working. Actually on that trip we saw Wicked and Joey McIntyre was Fiyero. I am pretty sure that she saw Rent for the first time on that trip and Drew Lachey was Mark!

I don't think that's strange! I think that's a pretty neat tradition. I wish my mom were willing to do things like that. She doesn't get that I keep going to see NKOTB over and over again. Yet she's seen Clay Aiken plenty of times herself.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'll pass them along. He went to the NY Film Academy for their film program. He didn't get into it until he was in college; since then he's been very passionate about it. I hope it all works out for him! He and Kelly can discuss all things film on the cruise!

I was supposed to go see Wicked when Joey McIntyre was in it. I was with my ex at the time but we broke up before the actual show!

LOL .... I have begged Kelly to go see Clay Aiken with me since he was on AI! She keeps avoiding it....so I asked her if David Cook came would she be willing to see him....that she agreed to!

My mom loves Clay and David Cook too. My sis and I understand the David Cook thing...but Clay. Explain it to me! We so do not get it.

LOL!!! I actually really like Clay also. It was bad times the night that he lost on AI to Reuben. I was QUITE broken up about it!! :guilty: I have been to see him in concert once, when he was on tour with Kelly Clarkson. I just think he has a really great voice. And he's kind of cute too. Although, I guess that I am probably not his type...sigh :rotfl:

jenny, lainey and mary, reservations are linked! we dont need to do anything else, its all done!!

and jenny i asked them if you can get free dining with the land and sea and the answer was no, sorry! i think if you split the booking up you probably could but as a normal land and sea, you cant combine offers.

now for some serious planning!!

who's definately up for doing the FE exchange thingy? i'm itching to get started shopping for it!!

 I wonder what would make you say that?

I'm sorry, I still don't get the Claymania! :rotfl: He does have a great voice but other than that...he's just not my cup of tea I guess!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Thank you for asking! I appreciate it. I'd heard I couldn't but thank you for double checking.

I'm up for an FE. I'm just going to need to seriously research some ideas because as of right now, I'm stumped! And my DBf looked at me like I was nuts when I asked him for help.

Is anyone making magnets for their doors?

oh yeah!!! will use some from last time but still going to make new ones!!

I agree Clay should have been the American Idol, not Ruben. I like Clay's voice, looks wise he reminds me of an elf.:rotfl2: David Cook, has a great voice too, and I like the scruffy look he has. I am still kicking myself in the butt for not going to the taping of the Christmas Parade...I had a feeling he was going to be there, but I couldn't get anyone to confirm it for me.

This season of AI I like Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey. Adam is so over the top, but has an amazing voice. Last week when he sang "The Tracks of My Tears", everyone said he looked like Elvis...I can see that he looked like Elvis, but he reminded me of Zac Efron. Danny Gokey has a voice like Michael McDonald, it's soulful.
