:lmao: Gotta love the stories about clients and customers who think they know it all!

Karen - I don't know if you've ever heard of Mario Baseball but Daisy & Peach are in that game. They play on the softball team in shorts versions of their dresses so I was thinking of maybe modeling a costume around that.

You can get a mickey ice cream bar delivered to your room?? How about chip-wiches? They are my favorite! :thumbsup2

Donna, why would your daughter freak out in the water of Castaway Cay? I hope your friend gets to come on the cruise. It sounds like it wouldn't be very hard to talk her into it!

LOL, Kelly and I got to the beach, went in the water....it was so clear and so blue that you could see the fish swimming...and she started yelling they were going to eat her...and that one of the Jaws movies took place in the Bahamas...so she wanted out of the water and back on to the boat. Mind you she was 14, and completely hysterical. The fish weren't even big...they were aquarium size! :rotfl2: She assures me she will not be repeating that performance this time around...apparently it was some kind of teenage freak out or something. Actually it is a good thing we spent probably all of 30 minutes on Castaway Cay...Kelly and I are both so fair skinned we are practically clear...she was really sunburnt. So we are going to really prepare for that this time.

I do have an equally embarrassing story about myself from Castaway Cay .... As Kelly and I were leaving our stateroom to make our way to the beach at Castaway Cay I asked her if she had the prepaid vouchers for the rafts...I got the typical teenage answer, "Mom, you asked me about a 100 times!" Ok...so let's head out then I replied. So we make our way down to disembark from the ship and Mickey and company were behind us, along with a character handler....I said, "Kelly, keep those vouchers handy, because I don't know when they are going to ask us for them." She replied, "What vouchers?" I had just asked her about them less than five minutes before...and I completely lost my temper...and used the "F" word. I turn around and everyone is laughing as Mickey is holding his ears and shaking his head. The handler said "We don't use that kind of language at Disney"...the guy in front of me almost busted a gut laughing...he said "Yeah Goofy is going to come and take you to jail". Talk about red! To this day, I can't believe I said that!

:rotfl2: Both those stories are great!

I'm not a big fish person, at all. I like to go snorkeling but tend to swim away if the fish get too close. If you see a girl in the water, yelling 'The firh touched me! The fish touched me!' you know who it is! :rotfl:

It's something about the eyes I think...that they never close!

I found of picture of Kelly from right after the cruise...I think it was taken at the Animal Kingdom....you can see how burnt she was. By the second day of the land portion of our trip her nose started to crack and bleed.

Lesson learned...Fair skin + Bahamas sun = Fried to a crisp! Solution massive amounts of SPF65!

Ouch! The first time we went, we had SPF 15 and the cruise staff told us that wasn't good enough. We ended up buying SPF 45. Good thing too because we ended up getting a little fried even with that!

I think a lot of people forget that the sun reflects off of the water and you can get sunburned really quickly. I have gotten sunburned on my knees from laying in an inner tube at Tyhpoon Lagoon. That is pretty painful too, every step when you are walking hurts. I really like the spray on sunblock it seems to give a better overall coverage on your legs and arms.

Thank you for thinking of me Mary it is so WINDY here i almost got blown over all of our stuff out on the porch is no longer on the porch it is on the GROUND!! and our dogs wont leave their houses and neither of our cats will go outside they look at me like im crazy when i open the door.

Lainey, it looks like you are still having some bad weather down there! I hate storms! It is raining here again. At least it isn't snow!

Donna, did you hear about our esteemed ex governor? He is at Disneyworld! Tainting the Saratoga Springs at that. I will have to ask NOT to be in whatever room he was in when we stay there in September, Lol!

ooh, what did the ex govenor do to become an ex?

gary made the same mistake on CC, he wanted a tan so he didnt bother with the sunblock. well he made the mistake of falling asleep in one of the hammocks by heads up bar and ended up looking like a lobster and doing a lot of peeling the next few days!! luckily we had the sunburn cooler cream stuff from the AKL toiletries so that helped. that'll teach him to fall asleep in the sun!! i was off kayaking so i wasnt there to wake him up.....

not looking forward to work today, gotta go through our company debtors with my boss in the morning and i know she's going to pick holes in everything. glad its the weekend tomorrow so i've only gotta suffer with the inevitable headache its going to cause until 5pm.
anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend? we're trying to decide on where to go for a drive, thinking kent, might go to canterbury. will probably take gary out for dinner though for a late birthday thing.

jenny, just looked ay clips of mario baseball on youtube, looks like a good thing to base your costume on, and the shorts will be a bit more ride practical!

Karen, I forget that you don't live here in the States, so you probably haven't heard about Blago. To make a long story short...When Obama became President, he left a seat in the Senate vacant for Illinois (each State gets 2). So here in IL, the law is that our Governor fills it. Well, ours tried to SELL it!! Which is totally not surprising as he is generally a slime ball (can you tell I just loved him, LOL). So anyways, after filling the seat anyways with some old dude who sounds like winnie the pooh, he was Impeached and thrown out!! YEA!! :cool1: And now he is in Disneyworld on vacation with his Family. Glad i'm not there right now!!

I will have to make sure to remember to get some very high SPF sunblock before the cruise!! I have tons of freckles, and they will be popping out like crazy in the sun. I will look like one huge freckle!!

We don't have any huge plans for the weekend. Finishing the bathroom so that I can take a showere here instead of driving to my MIL's. I am off today, so i'm going to MIL's a little later this morning and we are going to lunch and curtian shopping. And i'm bringing my dog over there so that she can hang out with their dog. We have weiner dogs, they are just so cute!!

Jen, Tim has Mario Baseball for the Wii. I can't remember what the costumes look like, but i'm sure they are cute. What a fun idea!! Last year at the MNSSHP, there was a lady dressed up like Minnie (which is not encouraged anyways...) but I saw her leaning over the garbage can in the smoking area having a ciggarette!! It was very disturbing!!

thats just ruining it for the kids!! not good!

how did he think he could get away with selling his seat in the senate!??!?! its not as if its something you can put on ebay!
reminds me of something thats happened here recently, one of the senior MPs has had to make a public apology after her husband charged a hotel naughty movie to her expenses account! makes you wonder how these people think they can get away with this stuff!

on the up side, its only 2 and half hours til i finish work for the weekend, only got a 4 day week next week, and my report to my boss went a lot better than i thought it would so in quite a good mood! i've got a huge pile of things that need to be done before i go home, but steaming through them. i'm technically on lunch at the mo, went downstairs to the kitchen to have my lunch, but one of the managers was having a meeting in there so decided to come back to my desk and dis instead!!

People with money or power think they can do anything, like the rules don't apply to them. :sad2:

I'll be sure to buy lots of sunblock for this trip! The whole problem with me is, I'll put sunblock on initially and then forget to reapply it. Kind of defeats the purpose, ya know? I have to be more on top of that this time.

So for the costume, I'm thinking maybe I'll get one of those shorter, tennis type skirts and wear shorts underneath it. A skirt just makes it seem more princess-y and it's still ride friendly. I can't believe I'm planning out my MNSSHP costume in April! :rotfl:

As for dressing up like a character 1) you're going to confuse the kids! and 2) ew! ya shouldn't be smoking a cigarette if you're dressed like one, see reason 1!

It's pouring here today. It's a very blah day. TGIF.

its actually nice and bright here, but bright cloud. it was glorious yesterday, clear blue skies (for once), but its just a bit bleugh here today, cant actually see any of the sky, but its nice and bright.
think you might be the only one of us lot on here going to MNSSHP thats going to dress up! i'm just not really a fancy dress person, had to dress up last halloween for work for the whole week, i hated it. got a £1 an hour bonus for doing it, but only did it because everyone else in the office was. hated it. (i'm a bit boring in that sense!)
you'll have to show us your costume when you get it sorted! sounds cool

btw came up with another cool idea for my FE gifts last night, i keep coming up with ideas but i know i need to slow down or i'll end up with a lot of excess luggage to take over there otherwise!

Well, as of right now I'm dressing up. We'll see if I follow through on it. If I don't, I'm at least going to get MNSSHP inspired tshirts for me and Joe. We have to be in the spirit somehow!

That's one thing I have to work on, the FE!

i'm looking forward to the trick and treating! being from the UK its not really a thing we do much here. the UK isnt into halloween as much as the USA, looking forward to bags of candy!!

Trick or treating is the best! And I won't even have to feel too old because we'll be in WDW!

for the first day this week it isn't raining here. Jen you def have to post pics of your costume if you decide that you are gonna wear it. I have dressed up for halloween the last few years mainly b/c my little brother wanted me to take him trick or treating year before last i was a bunny rabbit(comfy costume white scrubs and bunnyears and a tail) but last year i decided to try something a little different and man was that a mistake i dressed up like marylin monroe:rotfl::rotfl: but since i hated all the blond wigs i decided i would go with her natural hair color of red mine is already pretty red(auburn actually) but my sis-in-law said it needed to be redder so i dyed it luckily i think my mom is the only person with a picture of me all dressed up and NO ONE WILL BE SEEING THAT!!! (i will stick to the bunny costume its comfy and my hair doesn't have to go any redder)

I will definitely post pictures if I decide to dress up. They actually sell two princess peach costumes but they're the "sexy" versions. I didn't dress up for Halloween last year but the year before I was a french maid. We had to wear costumes at work, we had no choice!

I dyed my hair once for a costume too. My hair is dark brown and I tried to dye it blonde (it wasn't permanent thank god) just for the costume. My guy friends were Hugh Hefner and Fred Durst so a couple of the girls were going as playboy bunnies and since they're usually blond, it made sense! I looked awful! My hair looked like straw! I couldn't wait til it washed out!

weel my dye wasn't temp. but it really only showed up really red around my roots so the rest of my hair just looked like a redder auburn and it showed my just how PALE I am!!
I am def making sure that i have enough sun block for the cruise my DFi doesn't really have to worry about it he is part native american however his other half of his family is Scottish so he does burn but the next day he tans i on the other hand BURN(stay in pain for a few days) PEEL and go back PALE with a few more freckles i guess that shouldn't surprise me most people that have red tint in their hair burn easily and the fact that my dads side of the family is Irish should have told me that i would probably never be tan. I had some weird guy while i was at work one day ask me if i was from Ireland i said can you not hear the southern accent in my voice?

Maybe he thought you were from southern Ireland? Some people are clueless.

I usually only burn bad on my face and shoulders, sometimes the backs of my legs. That's the only place where it's painful for me. But it usually only lasts about a day or two.
