There was a time BEFORE PBS?!?!?! :scared1:

J/K;)

I don't know if it was there or not, but it was probably one of those channels that was hard to tune in. It seemed like when I was a kid, most of the children's programming came from Canada. I live across the river from Windsor, Ont. Now it's the only place I can watch curling!

MR--I wanna sit with your family at dinner. You get the fun waitstaff!

This was our 2004 cruise the waitstaff was truly great. This 2006 staff, no so much. They were certainly efficient enough and that's all one can hope for, but the 2004 Toto/Opie/John combo went above and beyond!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You must really be getting excited now Tina!!!!

I'm working Mon-Wed. We leave bright (that's debatable) and early (way too early) Thurs morning. I know I'm going to be bouncing off the walls!

Funny thing the last time we went to the airport. A local cop car followed me for a couple of miles. Me probably was wondering what someone was doing on the road that early!

My brother use to work a shift were he was on the road at 3:30 am to get to work. One day a State Trooper stopped him. They wanted to know what he was doing on the road, so he told them. After that every time they saw him they would wave and drive by!

What does a pirate use on his hemorrhoids?

Prep-ARRRRrrrrgggh-ation H!

We were thinking about this machone too. Our Best Buy did not have one on display so we really could not consider it seriously. Then... I figure if I was to get a pinball machine I would want a REAL one... only problem is I dont want to pay a REAL price! So are we gonna get either one anytime soon... Hmmm What do you think?

But at $200 it is fairly inexpensive IF the kids (or grown up kids) get enuf fun out of it!

Anyone have one of these? Anyone seen one set up yet?

The one at our BB was actually setup but it was nonop. I'm not sure how many they had in stock but I saw two boxes up on the sky shelf.

This is a pic of an extended family vacation we did in June 05. There were 8 of us that went to VB for 3 nights, 3 nights on the Wonder and then a total of 24 that went to OKW for 5 nights. Gotta love those DVC points. We treated everyone to the VB and OKW stay and still had 2 of DH sisters not even attempt to go. It is DH's Dad with the red hat on. Sadly he passed away in June 06.

Hey, Captain Crash!

How are you doing there with your Pretty Pretty Princesses?

Hey there!

We went to Disneyland on Friday. I had considered going at 7 or 8AM... but being on my own with the kids it should come as no surprise that we left the house at about 11:55AM... which was very close to my cutoff for changing plans and not going. So... we stayed really late until 10:30PM or so... having arrived at about 2PM. We stopped to pick up some take out food the kids would enjoy - among the highlights of the afternoon were Merlin by the merry go round where he gave my daughter a spare medallion - the one you get for pulling the sword out of the stone. I casually asked when his next show was cuz my girl had been anxious to get another chance at pulling the sword as she had been choosen nce before but LOST her medallion - so she wanted to pull the sword again to replace the lost medallion.

Aside from that... we drove out yesterday to hook up with my cousins. We visited a TET festival down in Garden Grove. There were 1000s of people in a country fair environment. Our 5 kids threw balls into fishbowls to win 5 gold fish. One of the fish did not survive til morning... the other of our two was still swimming the last time I looked.

So - after the Tet fesival (my 1st one ever tohave attended)... we hung out at their home for the evenin'. It was pizza, chili fries and pastrami or roast beef sandwiches. So... not exactly gourmet fare but it passed for supper. Oh... the kids also had some chicken noodle soup and porridge too. Don't tell my wife what I've been feeding the kids... as the chili fries were not eaten by my kids... rather, my cousins' kids (who are older) were sly about sneaking several tastes - soo it is not as bad as it might have sounded initially. The pizza was great - but they didn't take to it well... so I finished off their portions without any complaints!

And as for today - I was pretty wacked... as I am now. So I am sort of getting about really slow at things today. My reading and posting here are pretty low intensity and I am trying to install new childrens' software on the new computer... and now my spouse is ringing me to ask that I try to get the computer exchanged for a "better" configuration that just went on sale at Office Depot. The speed on the processor is higher and it comes with an LCD monitor instead of the CRT - ut I do have to kick in $100 more. Well... the only complication is that the return policy is 14 days and today is the 15th day. So - I'm gonna swing by and chat with the manager and ask if he'll approve the swap - which makes sense to all I think seein' as it's only been a day.

The new computer subs a Pentium duo core, kicks memory to 1 gig, and the LCD monitor.... so I guess that's worth getting. We do have a 19" CRT monitor which the kids are using - so a 17" will be comparable in size while elimenating the radiation exposure. And I figure the P 2 core will have perhaps another 6 months of functionality somewhere down the road... so it is worth getting.

Thanks! I have been looking forward to it, but now I really want to be where it's warm after the past couple of weeks. After this cruise I'm going to have to start saving up my vacation time at work.

I know I will be hopelessly behind, so I'll read the summaries and just jump right in! (I like it, it's simple and easy to remember!)

We went out today and dd found a box of POTC fruit chews! It even has the captain's picture on the front! pirate: Cue the I've got a jar of dirt music :dance3: pirate: :dance3:

We got a box of fruit chews!
We got a box of fruit chews!

Your time before you leave will speed by. Enjoy yourself.

That's a great pic Paula! This is the exact reason I go broke at Shutters!

Judy, you are starting to hurt my feelings here... :sad1: ;)

Awww Caroline I"m sorry I had no idea if you knew we were near a pirate but apparently you have a great 6th sense for that........Not that you don't count......you were 100 pages back.......and you still manage to beat the guys......pretty sad for them.......

Yeah Lorri!!!!!!

Can't believe I left for awhile and look what you guys did......

I hate the daggone HBO channels......my kids were watching Harry Potter and the next thing that came on was this total porn thing......You have to be so on top of it...

Yes, it brings new meaning to "Chamber of Secrets", doesn't it.

Now that's the attitude I need...........

Do you know what I miss most (so far).....my 20/20 eyesight. I hate that I have reading glasses hanging around my neck all the time.

me too!!! - 45 here and I swear it happened overnight!!!! I decided to "embrace " it and went out and got funky purple pair of reading glasses!!!:rotfl:

Bye Everyone! I have got to ready for BUNCO. Hopefully I will win a little something.......

The one at our BB was actually setup but it was nonop. I'm not sure how many they had in stock but I saw two boxes up on the sky shelf.

Yeah...

.. they had a bunch of pinball machine boxes at floor level so I sort of gawked at the box and photos on it. I even went as far as to speak with a couple employees to politely comment on the need for a floor display before I (or others) might buy one of these things.

No luck though as in the visits since then I've not seen one on display - so I even asked at the front returns desk about it - and they suggested that IF I bought it and was not happy I could return it. I really dislike repacking and returning things. And - of course - now my spouse wants me to check into returning this computer we just got 2 weeks ago.

Which reminds me - I better get going if I'm to pack the kids up to do the swap - or make arrangements to do the swap ...???

SO I'll go get ready to go now - and I'll glance back here one last time before I step out for Office Depot.

I might add - the only thing we really wanted was the 2 core pentium and 1 gig, and LCD... exactly what thus configuration seems to offer. Buying from Dell was gonna cost us near $600 versus the bargain $305 configuration we've not got. So... with the Pentium 2 core, 17" LCD and 1 gig of memory... this is everything we want for only $100 more - thus potentially saving $200 or 30%. Of well.. THAT is why I'll scramble after what she wants in swing the return with the kids in tow.

Cheers...!:rolleyes1

edited in... I just noticed this was 4001st posting to the DIS. Wooo Hooo!!!
