The Tag Fairy has been kept very busy trying to keep up with all of you. She needs to rest her wings for a bit.

And never forget, just when you least expect it, she's likely to show up again.
;)

Please convey my Hearty Thank You to the TAG Fairy. I have posted my Mickey Jail Story as promised, Oh Queen of the Fairy's. I'm never gonna hear the end of this............

Hi, just want to introduce my family to this board, we will be sailing with you all Aug 2008. I'm Tracy, Steve (dh), Jordan 14 at time of sailing (dd) and Jenna 12 at time of sailing (dd). I have been trying to catch up with all of the post but not doing a very good job at it! We have sailed Disney several times, infact we were booked on the 2005 EB repo but had to cancel due to dd's school conflict. Oh well, we WILL be on this one! Can't wait to meet all of you, seems like I know most of you already!

So far I have avoided buying the Jibbitz (just because the only place around here that seems to have them is Halmark and they are always too cutsie for me!) so I really don't know... DS7 has Mickey crocs, but I don't yet.

Of course, now that there are Disney Jibbitz I am going to have to get me some! They seem very expensive to me for what they are ($2.50 each) and the idea of adding shipping costs onto that always has stopped me before .... but for a Mickey Jibbitz I'll probably bite the bullet and do it.

Can you tell I tend to be "frugal"???? In our family, we say it is the Danish blood showing. My Danish grandmother is VERY frugal and can pinch a penny until it screams for mercy! She is 98 years old and still lives on her own. Her cousin (also Danish) is 102 and lives in her own apartment in a retirement community in Florida. There is one other cousin who is a yougster at 93 and drove from Iowa to Illinois last summer for Grandma's 98th birthday party - she also plays a couple rounds of golf every week! I sure home I can be like them in another 50+ years :thumbsup2

I haven't tried this, but on the Budget Board this link was posted for making your own Jibbitz.

http://mylittlemochi.typepad.com/my_little_mochi/2006/10/croc_charms.html

I've heard that many of the real Jibbitz don't work well in the Disney crocs because the Mickey shape holes are bigger and they tend to work their way out. However, if you make your own, you could secure it with a big enough button to hold it in.

Yes, we ALL Survived the family meeting........FGM was NOT a Happy Camper !!!

As for the Mickey Jail Story........... Its Long, so my apologies.....remember You guys asked !!!

On My Second Trip to Walt Disney World in 1972............................

I had pestered my parents into letting me take my best friend with us. My first trip was great.........But I had to hang around with my older brother (That's a different story !!!!). Now my best friend and I are allot alike...... and at that time ALL Boy.........meaning, what mischief can I get into, and still not get caught, and look like were Angels !!!!

My Family is from Tennessee, so every trip we took to Florida and Disney World, we would stop at My Grandparents. My family's from a small town area that, in a word, is country. And Country folks are different than city folks. Country boys like to shoot at things and blow things up !!!!! Mom and dad were smart enough not to let us take BB guns on vacation..... Sooooooooo

Fireworks, and larger explosive devices were readily available to boys in rural Tennessee. So guess what went with my friend and I to Florida ???

My Uncle owned at that time a resort hotel in Southern Florida, right on the Inter Coastal Waterway. We would stay at the hotel for a week, then head back up to Disney, which at that time was the Magic Kingdom.

There was lots of construction in the area at that time............ Long Story Short............ M80's in drain pipes........... M80's thru the pier slats into the Surf.........Firecrackers in toilets..... And not getting caught !!!

Head up to Disney......... U can see the trouble coming.........wish I could have.

Now my Best Friend is Fearless..........I'm only Brave. We are both enough of the former to be considered stupid. At least that's my Dad's perspective.

Now remember that in 72, Disney (MK) still had horse drawn wagons, and other animals, that might not like loud noises.............

Security back then was a couple of retired, overweight, old guys........not like today.

We had a bunch of Firecrackers.........Thankfully we had used up all of the M80's and other types of larger explosive devices !!!!

So my brilliant Friend decided it would be fun to see how many rides we could go on and light off Firecrackers..........Seemed like a good idea at the time!!!

We lit off FireCrackers on every ride and show in the MK, including the Train. It was smaller back then, even Space Mountain wasn't open yet. You had to use ticket books, and we were on our last ticket, to ride the Haunted Mansion !!!!

Now wouldn't you know, that every time we lit a firecracker in the Haunted Mansion it was either a dud, or got run over by a Doom Buggy just as it went off. Must have tried 20 times.......... I tried enough times that I ran out of FC's. We get off the ride, and its 5 minutes till the park closes. My Brilliant friend See's a Horse standing outside of the Haunted Mansion gates.......... and decides to flip a lit firecracker by it........... Bad News...........and it wasn't a Dud !!!! Bang goes the cracker, up goes the horse, friend gets tackled by Cast Members......... I initially escape by using ' Ive never seen him before in my life........as my Best Friend is screaming out my name.

So I get almost back to where we are to meet my parents at the Train station on Main Street....... and 2 CM's stop me. Even back then they had radio's. My Dad sees this, comes running up, just as two security guards are dragging my friend up Main Street.

We go to Mickey Jail......... Mom and Dad have to bail us out. Luckily no one was hurt........ Could have gone seriously much worse. Thank Goodness all the horse did was jump around, and not bolt. So the bail was to scare the living daylights out of us...... It worked. Had to stay at Security Headquarters for 2 hours after the Park Closed......in their holding cell. Listening to my Dad talking with the Disney park management. At the end, It sounded more like the Disney Team was trying to protect us from my Dad !!!!

We had to sign that we were under probation, never to be caught doing anything wrong at Disney again, and were released into my Parents custody. I would have rather stayed in Mickey Jail. My Bahoooooky hurts just thinking
about this.........

Mark

Interesting story. I bet you learned your lesson! I will have to tell dd there really is a Mickey Jail!
