Just keep repeating to yourself...Trip of a Lifetime....Trip of a Lifetime...:rotfl:

That mantra has been helping for me!! Everytime I have a "reality check", (ie, I look at my printed out itinerary that says what I've paid vs. what I still owe! :scared1: ) I just close my eyes, picture myself lounging near the pool, then I repeat those beautiful words..."The trip of a lifetime...The trip of a lifetime...The trip of a lifetime!" :lmao:

OK, so totally off topic...
But I have a question. Would any of you lie for your boss if it kept him/her out of trouble? I mean, not a HUGE lie...
(I'll just give you a hypothetical...;) :rolleyes1  ) :
Let's say your boss is going through a divorce, he's recently started seeing a woman who lives across state (like a 4-5 hour drive). They take turns on the weekends coming back and forth to see each other. For business, he had to drive yesterday to a city that is between where he lives (we'll call it city A) and where she lives (city B). He was supposed to be back at work today. But he's not because he decided last night that he was going to drive the rest of the distance to city B. He calls his employee  (from girlfriends's house in Kansas City...(OOPS!! mean city B)and says "If anyone calls looking for me, tell them I've been in the office this morning, but I had to go out to run some errands"...
So far, said employee has not had to field any of said phone calls, but would you lie if you were in her shoes? :confused3

OK, FINE! The employee is me!! You dragged it outa me!! :lmao:

I think that would be a very personal decision. It is not a very uncommon lie at the office I am sure, maybe not for the same reasons though. I don't see anything wrong with it since it is not your place to disclose information on your boss's whereabouts other than what your boss tells you. (kind of like when they tell you to say they are out of the office or busy on the phone, in a meeting, etc) The only time it would be wrong is if it was hidding something criminal. JMHO:)

Oh my goodness!!!!
I am officially writing to say Hello!!! I swore to myself, " Self, you can't post until you have read all the posts so you know what you are talking about" Today I told myself "the H E double toothpicks with that because the thread moves to fast that by the time some one reads what I write it won't matter if I don't have a clue what I said"
Now that I have totally confused myself, let me introduce myself.
My name is Laura and my husband Mark has just booked us on this cruise. I am sure that he has posted that we booked but darned if I can find where it is in the multitude of wonderful discussions going on here. His screen name is Disneypilots, in case we ever get to post again.
We are traveling with our DD who will be 17 and an entering her senior year the week after the cruise and our DS who will be 15 and probably wanting us to drive to LA so he can get in his miles to earn his Drivers license. Also, traveling with us will by my MIL and FIL.
Can't wait to meet all of you wonderful pirates and wenches, swabbies too. I do have to say that I am looking forward to meeting Todd as he has claimed the role of "THE" Pirate for this cruise, however, my DH has been calling himself Pirate for years now and will all ways be the true Pirate in my heart. I guess I will have to make us costumes. BTW I have two live parrots if someone wants to figure out how to smuggle them onto the ship for their costumes. Can't guarantee you won't need an eye patch afterward however.
I started to read the posts and read 250 yesterday and was heading for more today but real life keeps interfering. Hate that.

Here's my recap info.

:) Met DH at a wedding....long story.
:) I would be Doc if I was a Dwarf because he tends to mix up his words and I spend half my typing time doing corrections.
:) There was discussion on Lego's. Love Lego's. I coached a Lego Robotics team for 5 years. Even won a few 1st place trophies.
:) I say pah-cahn
:) love soft serve ice cream with sprinkles
:) was desperately in love with Leif Garrett, gotta love Tiger Beat mag.
:) Love motorcycles, DH has a Anniversary Harley Softtail. I think that might have been a discussion I missed but saw it in the recaps.
:) Love Crashes pictures and Andy's smilies.
:) Can't get enough of Target and gotta have the sales at Wal-marts too.
:) We have been to Aruba and will gladly give you directions to the bars. Or you could just take the Jolly Pirates cruise. The best time.
:) Be glad to bring some batteries or maybe just the rum.
:) Don't have a tattoo but would love to see others, to get ideas of course:rolleyes1
:) I don't care much for lime green but would gladly be tagged with a bracelet. Will need to read more to figure details on how to get those.
:) Love all the pictures, from weddings to pirates to green shirts
:) Think that Todd has an awesome talent for graphic designs. Very impressive.
:) My screen name comes from the fact that my dream job would to be The Fairy Godmother. Gotta love that wand!!!!!
:) Hope I can do a zip line.
:) if Downrivermama is still around, Howdy neighbor!!!
:) Gotta have ispell to edit your posts since there isn't spell check here.
:) Don't care when I eat, as long as there is food. After dieting to get into a bathing suit, I will be ready for any seating.
:) I am definitely ON THE LIST!!!!!
and by the way TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!!!!

whew, thats it for now. need a nap or a massage or a drink, or well.. maybe I will just read some more posts.

Wow, I hope that covers it for now.

You know, I think we need to put that on one of the T-******

With all these t-****'s we're coming up with, I won't have to worry about what to pack. By the time we're done with all the planning we'll have a different pirate shirt for every day of the whole cruise :rotfl:

We learned that it's in our best interest to keep special vacation plans under wraps for as long as possible. DS is the kind of child who will wish away the present to get to what he feels is the good thing, but by that point he'll have super high expectations and is bound to be disappointed.

While we surprised the kids with the cruise last summer, I don't think I'll be able to spring this one on them at the terminal. I'm thinking of doing a travel-themed Christmas and giving them the news about the cruise on Christmas or New Year's. That will give them enough time to meet some DIS friends and learn about the ports of call, but hopefully not too much time.

Do you have any plans for when you'll tell the kids?

They already know! And they can't wait!!!:dance3:

Actually, you bring up something I was going to ask, has anyone gotten their mailed confirrmations from DCL yet? I've already requested a detailed breakdown from my TA but haven't gotten anything yet.

When you have done the 2008 repo how many days in total from all of your cruises would you have been on the MAGIC?

I would be at 54 days

Mine will go to my TA, I did get one for my Med cruise within a week as I booked that first and transfered to DU

Sorry I guess I did not see the "I" up-graded. I just wish they would give me a room number to shut me up!!!!!:lmao:

Cheryl, our TA told us yesterday that most everyone will be receiving a room assignment by this weekend. We used All Seasons in Florida. So that may give you some hope. Others in our party received room #'s yesterday. We're still GTY.

Cool question :thumbsup2 After this cruise I'll have 36 days on the MAGIC, plus my upcoming 4 on the WONDER ... makes 40 days on DCL ships for me and my gang :woohoo:

Hi everyone- My family will be joining you on the EB Repo as well. We were on board the Magic on the 31st, so we booked while on board- Actually I was at the pool while Leslie, the sales manager, booked for me! I have been lurking the boards almost daily since our first cruise in 06, but i rarely post as most questions are usually answered already! On the repo, it will be myself, DH, DD now 6 and DS now 3. I just hope I can keep up with the posts. When I returned last week, I never dreamed the thread would be this long! Better jump in now before I really get behind. Looking forward to cruising with such a great group!:yay:

WELCOME!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

:welcome: Aboard Laura!

WOW - You've been busy. Make sure you send your info into Lisa so you get on the manifest and have access to the website.

BTW- I think you will need to have all three - drink, nap and massage!

That will be great and a huge weight of loads of cruisers minds if they do, if it came from AST then that should be acurate information. Then fears on overbooking will stop!

I was thinking of waiting until May, after I've made final payment. That way there's no backing out. But I like your idea of telling at Christmas.

I still haven't told my DS about this year's Med Repo. Although he keeps seeing me on the boards and DU's banner with the Magic on top and keeps saying he wishes we could take a Disney cruise. Not sure how I'm going to keep this quiet much longer.

Although I have to tell you...(notice, I could have edited the above post, but NO! I need to boost my post count. SO I'm making a new post!! Tee hee hee..)

Everytime I read "Trip of a lifetime", I hear this in my head: :lmao:

"Ed, tell them what they've won!"
"Sure, Bob! We're sending them on the TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!
You'll arrive in beautiful sunny California, and from there, be whisked away to enjoy 15 sunny days and 15 glorious nights aboard the luxurious Disney Magic!
By day, you'll bask in all of the delights that the tropics have to offer! Prepare to dine in style as you feast on the smorgasbord of scrumptious offerings in the amazing restaurants aboard the Magic!
Then relax in the comfort of the spacious accomodations onboard the ship! Order room service anytime, day or night!
You'll visit exotic lacalles on your journey, including Puerta Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, Cartegena, Aruba, and Disney's own private island, Castaway Cay!! And don't forget the passage through the Panama Canal!
This is indeed, the TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!
And it can all be yours...IF the price is right!!" :thumbsup2
