Angelina is back in the ranks of the unemployed. Angelina did a birthday party yesterday at work and was fired because the mother of the child who the party was for handed Angelina a tip. Angelina said she wasn't allowed to accept tips, but the mother insisted she take it and put it in her pocket. The manager on duty saw this and told Angelina she was no longer needed at the store.............

Oh Andy that is a ridiculous no win situation for Angelina. What if she absolutely refused & the customer got upset? Would she have been fired for upsetting the customer? Give me a break!

Just a quick hello to you all. It's been a very difficult few days. DS has been improving but in the meantime I had a few health issues that resulted in emergency surgery Thurs night. I'm doing better now, but still taking it easy. DS has been released from the hospital but is in a residential facility that is supposed to ease the transition from hospital to home. He should be coming home next weekend.

I'm really ready for it to be someone else's turn. I think my family has had enough in the last 6 months to last us the next 10 years!!!

Oh gosh Monica! You have had enough! You really deserve some light at this point & I so hope it comes your way really soon & you both find good health!!!

OK, 15 minutes 'til kickoff, so I'll make my call.

I want the Chargers to win. We became fans while living in San Diego. (SoCal Sing-a-long: San Di-ego super Chargers, San Di-ego Chargers). Unfortunately, I think they will get beat by the worst coach in Browns history, ummm, err, I mean Bill Belichick & the Patriots.

I want the Packers to win. During the few years of no Browns, I was a Packers fan. Gotta love Brett Favre, although I hate hearing about how old he is since he's only 3 years older than me.

I don't think I'll get my way today, but if I do, I may need to attach a lightning bolt to a cheesehead for the Super Bowl.

You know, Andy, if I had been the mom hosting the party, I'd be horrified. We ALWAYS tip the party hostess when we have parties away from home. I would have done the same thing that mom did, figuring the employees had to follow the "refuse once but accept graciously if they insist" rule.

Hopefully, something better will come Angelina's way.

We always gave a nice tip to the kids(teens) that handled Angelina's parties when she was younger. Not once were we told tips were not accepted. I think B-a-B might need to think about changing their policy. I've seen what these kids do when doing these parties, they work really hard, and in my opinion deserve anything extra they can get.

BTW, I did send B-a-B Headquarters an e-mail last night, but I can't let Angelina know I sent it off, as she told me she wanted to handle this.

Hi Everyone - we're staying warm here. I seem to have a bit of a cold so I didn't leave the house at all today. The furnace has been running pretty much non-stop and DH built a fire in the fireplace this evening.

I took a long nap this afternoon and it seems DH and DS8 have done nothing but play the Game Cube all day (Paper Mario: The thousand year door). Actually, they are still playing! Since this doesn't happen very often and at least they are playing together nicely I am trying not to be a "mean mom" and tell them no more video games!

I think it must be the weather - it is VERY unusual for either of them to focus on a game for this long. Usually, they only play for an hour or two and then move on to other stuff.

DH has been selling some bits and pieces on Ebay (in between turns on the video game!). Last week he put up an auction for a bunch of Smurfs that he had picked up at a thrift store - the bid is up to $89 with about 1/2 hour to go and 30 "watchers"! For little blue plastic SMURFS!

Well, that pretty much sums up our day here! I guess we are hibernating
