Just a quick hello to you all. It's been a very difficult few days. DS has been improving but in the meantime I had a few health issues that resulted in emergency surgery Thurs night. I'm doing better now, but still taking it easy. DS has been released from the hospital but is in a residential facility that is supposed to ease the transition from hospital to home. He should be coming home next weekend.

I'm really ready for it to be someone else's turn. I think my family has had enough in the last 6 months to last us the next 10 years!!!

:grouphug: Hope things start looking up soon for all of you. :grouphug:

Just wanted to share what I just saw in my Sunday morning newspaper, I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but take a look see at this.

Angelina is back in the ranks of the unemployed. Angelina did a birthday party yesterday at work and was fired because the mother of the child who the party was for handed Angelina a tip. Angelina said she wasn't allowed to accept tips, but the mother insisted she take it and put it in her pocket. The manager on duty saw this and told Angelina she was no longer needed at the store.............:headache:

Well that is riduclous! Hopefully she will find a much better job soon.
I got fired from a summer job I had when I was a freshmen in college. I worked for Zales and I was vacuuming out the jewelry cases, got busy with customers and never put back the cases of jewelry. It was discovered when a litttle kid crawling on the floor picked up a handful of expensive jewelry and showed his parents. Oops! I got to "go back to college a little early". :rotfl2: I soooo deserved to have been fired from that one.

Give Angelina a little extra TLC - she is probably feeling a little let down (and no doubt mad too).

Oh Monica,

Did you move yet?????:confused3 :confused3

A couple of days ago we were given a closing date of either the 29th or 30th (January). We went out there yesterday and things are looking BEAUTIFUL!!!

We haven't started packing ...... And we are busy with 2 different plays....The kids and I won't be able to move anything the weekend after the closing since we have 2 shows that Thursday, 1 Friday, 2 on Saturday & 1 on Sunday.....:rotfl2: Luckily that next Monday & Tuesday I am completely free!!!!

Because of the delay in closing we are going to have a *late* DCL House Party!

Nope, and by the time he said something to her, the mother had already left the store of course. Angelina said this particular manager is not well liked by most of the store's employees. Angelina was only getting between 8-10 hours a week anyhow, so maybe this was for the best.

Tell Angelina, I feel for her. My employees get tips all the time from customers cashing in lottery tickets.

Oh My..........

Angelina is doing OK, I told her maybe she shouldn't look for another part-time job until the school musical and her trip to Chicago are over with.

:sad2: I'm sure the *rule* is in place so that employees don't *solicit* tips but, when they are freely given....... I feel bad for Angelina!

Oh Andy, that's terrible! :furious: How's our little Angel taking it? I'd almost want to dispute that firing.

Sounds like the manager had some issues and this was a power-play on his part:confused3
Tell her to look on the bright side, better to get this kind of life lesson when you're not depending upon the job for a living.
I also was fired (layed off) from a job when I was 18. The store was doing poorly business-wise and what hurt was that the manager fired me before another employee that they hired after me because she liked the other girl better:rolleyes:
I've had some really aweful managers over the years:scared:
I really appreciate the good ones now:)
