As long as we have all started the serious planning, is there any thought yet as to how we are all going to link dining? I know that Waaaay back Lisa had said she would be doing it for everyone, but she hasn't been around in ages and I think she was one of those who left the thread :sad1:

I definitely want to link with fellow DISers for dining - I know that we have at least ONE thing in common and we have had a blast with our previous 3 cruises when we have dined with DIS folks. (The friends we made on our first cruise are still very close - they also happen to live nearby - we are going to their DCL house party in a couple weeks!)

We could just do it ad-hoc where we all try to PM each other and make up tables that way. If we do it that way, it might help if Tom could put a list of those who want to find table mates on the website or something. I wish I could volunteer to try and organize it, but I know that I am already over-volunteered and it wouldn't be fair to try and take on something this size. (I suspect that PTO, Garden Club, the classroom party, choir, etc would suffer since DIS stuff is more fun! ;) ) It would be really cool if all of us in the same dining time (Captain's Dining and Late/Traitors/Swabbie Dining) could be on the same rotation so we would be in the same dining room together and on similar schedules. Is that something we can request from DCL?

Anyway, I thought I would throw this out here and see if this is something that is already being thought about or if there are any great, new ideas.

Pamela (pdarrah)

I think that Kristina (goofyforlife) mentioned that she knows how to link the dining ressies and would do it when we got closer to the TOAL. If I'm wrong, then I'm sorry if I just volunteered you K!

Maybe one of our group who is also a TA (there are a few!) would know how to do it????

Kristina (Goofyforlife) was taking on this responsibility a month or so ago. She is just collecting names and times. As time draws closer she will nail down the details and obtain the information she needs to make this all happen. I would suggest that anyone wishing to link dinning PM Kristina with how many and dinning time.

:rotfl2: I guess we were typing the same thing at the same time.

Dare I suggest............some cake ???

David

Cake ...we  cake....

Good for you Andrew:thumbsup2
Since my knee injury, I have put on so much weight because my mobility is affected. The only way I can lose weight is to stop eating altogether.
David

Good job Andrew!!! :thumbsup2

I've taken off 5 pounds since 1-1-08, my goal is to lose at least 30 pounds, I need to give my knees a break!!! ;)

Congrats to all the swabbies getting ready for the speedo run :woohoo:

so you have to pay a fine if you didnt lose any weight that week? that will help me lose weight

Bullying and terrifying you into losing weight -- that should work! Sounds about right for your workplace, but for once it has a good result. Any word yet on your health issues? Any follow ups since December with the doctor?

Well them bullying their manager, ...well actually yes, they are ''helping'' me.

Ummm that whole pay if you don't lose is so wrong...
There are many weeks where i won't drop a lb but it will be an inches lost week. The human body is weird.:upsidedow i try not to beat myself up trying to understand it.

We flew out on her birthday. here is a picture of Linda with her toilet paper "cake" and barf bag "crown" from the SWA flight attendants.

We flew home from MCO on SW on my dd's 13th birthday. The FA's were great to her. They let her serve the snacks on the plane and rewarded her with a bunch of stuff. The "cake", a pair of maxi-slippers :rotfl: for entering "womanhood", a brown bag full of peanuts popcorn:: and a few pairs of wings.

PIRATES

pirate:

Those of us staying at the HoJo's call always suggest a meet by the pool!? Or laundry room prior to the cruise!:rotfl2:
Chrissie

Drinks by the pool perhaps?

You can take puppies at 6 weeks but the foster parents want to keep the puppies with mom for 2 more weeks. We can wait, well Cherie and I can, the girls are bouncing off the wall.

Actually Roger, those last two weeks is when the pups learn the most from each other "littermates" and their mom about being a dog and niping and stuff like that.
You'll get a much better adjusted dog by waiting those extra weeks.

Pam/Julie

I volunteered to take that over..... I will establish an email addie so that it can be posted on website and everyone can re-verify their desire to link and which dining they have. and other stuff (kids ages perhaps, # in party)

Anyway, Arlene said my TA has volunteered to help us if need be but we're still very early in all that. (dining isn't assigned until after the 90 day mark i think)

I wa typing too... Great pirate: 's think alike ;)

Mike - Goofy for Goofy is actually my DH....

I wanted to do a seperate email account for us to reverify with everyone so please don't send PM's yet. (since my PM box is so limited.)

Oh Paula -
I was in Costa Rica a few years ago and Fell In Love w/the country & peope. I will definately be going back - in fact my girlfriend & I are considering going for a one month language immersion program (an adult program that includes side trips).
Happy you had a great time - looking at you pics brings back such fond memories!!

Chris that sounds like an interesting trip and a month would be great. It may take a few years for us to go back--there are so many other places I want to see. I am really looking forward to a time when Alan and I can travel more often--but work keeps getting in the way.:goodvibes

pirate: In Honor of the One Year Anniversary of this Thread, I thought I'd share this video with y'all, I hope you enjoy it!!! pirate:

Andy, I remember watching the ship on the websites and was thrilled when he posted that video. I believe he got it on the boards the same day, didn't he? I have on my computer.

Brendan and I haven't really decided on excursions..you all are so organized! I hope he goes diving..doesn't like to leave me in foreign places to fend for myself....so I may have to find a friend to do something with..

Chrissie

We're not doing anything too adventurous. Let us know if you need company.

Ok this is a first for me ... :cool1:

:yay: :yay: :yay:

We were at Epcot this morning.. just got home.. the marathon was aweseome over 35000. and the weather held out.. the rain did not come in until 1.30

I heard there was some hail today for a bit. Did you see M's DH?

That looks awesome Julie:thumbsup2

I've been hoping to do the BOB excursion on Cabo, though I can only do it if I book direct because DCL's age restriction won't allow my DD11:sad2:

If we don't book the BOB, we may go with the ATV tour since our last horseback riding experience didn't go well for DH and DS:rolleyes1

I would like to do the BOB as well but someone said something about the pressure on the ears.(mine are really sensitive since my tonsils were taken out as a kid) Does anyone know if this is true with this kind of equipment?
Both of us would love the horseback as well but it has been Yearssss since either one of us have been on a horse and if memory serves me, it was on our honeymoon over 38 years ago and that is too long.

Thanks all for the Birthday wishes!

Anyway as far as TOAL goes, I still have not booked airfare... will likely book return flights soon. I am holding out for Virgin America for the flights to LAX and they have not published fares for August yet.

I hope everyone had a pleasant holiday.

Regards,
Sil

I was hoping they would fly out of Orlando but no such luck so far.

Maybe one of our group who is also a TA (there are a few!) would know how to do it????

We got a thumbs up on help with that but closer to the trip.

Tracy congrats on the pirate:

:scared1: Yikes just noticed the time....

Gotta go to bed...

Nite pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN.....

DS is still in the hospital. Doc says no earlier than Monday, but probably won't even be coming home then. Sad to say, I've seen him get worse, not better, since he's been in.

Hang in there Monica!

Cherie and I gave the girls a coupon for a puppy for Christmas so today we finally found one at a local adoption. He is only 6 weeks old so we can't take him home yet but it was fun to see him. He is a mix but probably has some lab and maybe some cocker.

P1120006.jpg

Awww don't you just want to hug him??? :lovestruc

We had a great time at WDW and we got a Dream. In fact, it turned into a Double Dream.

We were talking to a Dream Squad CM, who offered us a private meet and greet with Cinderella. I knew my DD and my Mom would be thrilled, so of course I accepted, and we managed to keep it a secret from both of them. My Mom was so excited when we went through the curtains and she saw Cinderella that she was crying. Here's a picture of the family:

100_1830.jpg

The CM could tell that the boys were a little less than enthused with the meeting. I guess that's what happens after years of princess breakfasts. He said to meet him at the pirate tutorial in Adventureland, since that was something that the boys would enjoy.

We met up with him about 15 minutes before the show, so we could be sure to be right up front. The show was really fun. We all enjoyed it, and the kids all "joined" Captain jack's crew at the end of the show.

We thought that it was cool, and were about to leave. the CM said he had one more thing to show us, so we followed him across the street to a CM only backstage door. He opened it up and told the boys to go in, and we all followed. They walked along a pathway, and guess who popped out to surprise us all???

Captain Jack Sparrow!!!!

We had a nice little private Meet and Greet with the good captain, and his mate Mack from the pirate tutorial show. They posed for pictures and gave us autographs and chatted with us for a few minutes. It was a really fun experience.

Mike congrats!!! Sounds like you guys had a blast!

Angelina just announced that she was asked to go to the Senior Prom, in May, with the boy(Frank) that she sang with in a school talent show when they were in second grade. Frank told Angelina last night that he wanted to ask her to go with him last year, but he was to nervous to ask her. It's a shame because neither Frank nor Angelina wound up going to the prom last year. Frank and Angelina have known each other since pre-school. In fact, Angelina just told me that she and Frank were married :bride::groom: on the school playground when they were in Kindergarten............Somehow, I never got wind of that wedding.........:rotfl:

Aw that's so sweet! Congrats to Angelina!

Driveby posting - literally - I'm on the monorail !!

Happy disaversary to all my pirate friends.

DH finished the marathon-got his Mickey medal. It's raining, but we're having a blast.

Congrats to DH M! :cool1:

Thank you for asking hope you are well as well.

Had a bit of a chat on this thread with Julie last night,

Headaches are still there now and then, but slightly better, Blood pressure last week was 145/90, so high but had been 158/95, this is cuased by Steriods, I am on a diet, so that is helping, 7/8 pounds off in first week, staff will check me on Monday for this week.

I am seeing various doctors over the comming weekes starting Monday 21st, they are checking everything nearly at the same time to see the reason for my blood disorder.

DW, is good, thats the first Christmas in three without any problem, so that is good.

Best of luck with the results Andrew! :wizard:

Apparently in Florida they have a law regarding abandonment of property - we were 15 feet away getting food at a buffet!! With this in mind, the police weren't interested, eventhough I could see my property in the back of someones car.

After the police went I went back into the restaurant, grabbed the thief, dragged him outside, took him to his car and gave him 30 seconds to give me my property back or I told him I would break his face and legs (I was so angry I would have). By this time Helen was screaming at me to leave him alone as she had visions of me not returning to the UK the following day and spending some time in a Florida prison.

The thief started crying, returned my camera and lenses and begged me not to tell his manager what he had done.

I was so relieved to get my kit back, I agreed.

I think that is the first tme I have written this down but I have not given the name of the restauant or the name of the thief - other than to say it is part of a chain and in the LBV area, near DTD;)

David

Wow good for you! I would've been like your DW, but I'm glad it all turned out well! :thumbsup2

Pamela...

I believe Tom31 said we had 500+ folks registered on the Pirate Zone and this does not even count the folks some of us have coming with us - as in my case I have about 30 people in my group. So, this poses an unusal problem with trying to get mostg of us into a particular dining rotation. As it stands I am going to be simply thankful to have my 30 together...let alone having my 30 with the bulk of the "crew".

I can see it now... if we could get all 500+ of us into one dining rotation on the last nite Todd would stand up and declare...

Maybe one of our group who is also a TA (there are a few!) would know how to do it????

To link reservations together for dining you need to call DCL or have your TA do it. Each person that wants to be linked together needs to provide the reservation number and lead person name.

Example - Say Bellelinus (Julie) wants to dine with 5 other families she would need to provide the reservation numbers and lead name for each person and link them to her reservation. Each of the 5 families don't have to call just one. Since many of you want to be linked you would have to figure out who will be doing the linking or split it up say one person calls to link 10 reservations. Another calls to link another ten plus one of the previous ones so now 20 rooms are linked

Keep in mind that there aren't many large tables so the best you can hope for is for the tables to be near each other

You also need to make sure that whomever you are linking to has the same dining time, Main or Second.

Hope this makes sense
