Let me ask, Debra or Deborah? I'm Debra.
Thanks Maureen, it's good to be back, and actually able to keep up for the past 2 days...Anyway, the shop is off Arthur Kill Road, not too far from the Outerbridge. It is 62 Androvette Street, here is the website with directions, phone # etc, so you can even call me at the store if you need directions www.alexianasscrappincottage.com.
I am doing a show down in South Jersey next weekend, the StampScrapArt Tour and then the Scrapbook Expo out at Hofstra University the first weekend in September.
Debi
Deborah - pronounced Da-bore-ah when my mother was mad at me. Was spelled Debbie until 7th grade, when I decided I wanted to be different, and changed it.
Joel.....I love your new avatar!
Can someone help me with a quick passport question? I'm sure it's a dumb question, but I'm new to the whole passport process.
What happens if your name is spelled wrong on your birth certificate?
When I was born, my mom wasn't allowed to fill out the forms. She told the nurse how she wanted my name spelled, but the "woman" wouldn't listen. Instead of spelling it LaTanya she spelled it LaTonya.
It's spelled correctly on all other document (SS card, permit, insurance policies...)
Am I right in assuming I'll have to get it legally changed before applying for our passports?
Who else, besides myself, is really missing CAPTAINCRASH?
Raise your hand!
Hey, you did pretty good IMO!![]()
Sorry...though I tried, I certainly can't replace Crash [chuckles]
Oh I beg to differ. We always need him!We don't need

tonight.
Thank you for the concern but I don't even know where a fed passport office would be around here. Likely I'd have to drive to some bigger city an hour away (like Dallas or something) and I'm so NOT doing that right now a year out. Before we get passports, I have to be SURE we're going to be able to have enough saved to pay for the cruise! LOLHi Ya -
oh - and passports - Shelley - I suggest that you go to the fed passport office in person now. (given national security - passports will be required) If you have any problems - one of my law school buddies is an immigration atty - let me know!!
Although once all the dust settles with the new passports...I'm forcing J/Jay to apply for a new one, and use his whole entire name....and maybe add the middle initial.
Somewhere out there is a wanted felon by the name of James......*same last name as ours*........ and so far, customs has stopped us twice because of it. If my MR. Stubborn would just put the whole Jay on there, we wouldn't keep getting stopped!
And the first time we were stopped was before 9-11-01.
47 and still feel like a kid...hard to believe I am pushing 50...age is just a number. It's not the years in your life, but the life in your years that count (Abe Lincoln).![]()

you know... hadn't thought about it but DITTO!
Same exact situation here. Mine is one letter off- similar to yours except it's a letter missing (Shelly on BC, Shelley on SS/DL/Etc.) They didn't give me any trouble at all with DL and BC on the last cruise- but I'm not sure how it's going to work with passports. (yet another reason I hope they don't require passports past the point of this cruise.)
Hi Ya -
Wow - Tom - Cap'n Crash - is still in Hawaii - yes? Sure do miss him. His sense of humor & graphics are priceless!
Hey - you GIRLS - (35 -40 - almost 50 - hahahahaha) - been there done that - enjoy - you're all young'uns!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I do mean enjoy. Raising kids is a tough job - but trust me - before you know it they are grown & gone. While you're doing a Wonderful job raising them - take time to enjoy them. And - take a moment to reflect - the big picture - my DH always says - "don't sweat the small stuff." I'm talking here of 2 grown children & (oh surprise) 3 grandkids.
(BTW - Debi - loved your pics - you're still looking good kiddo!!)

I'm now going back to packing - Tuesday is looming CLOSE - So is Paris!!
Anyways, didn't mean to bring everyone down. So on to happier things.
How was your day?![]()
Thought I would post a pic of one of my favorite "sayings". It is soo true!

I had a "life lesson" at a young age that nipped any chance of me ever becoming an alcoholic.... a life lesson thru my MOM.
Totally freaked out here now. I leave in about 18 hours. Bags are all packed, except for the carry on. Still need to make copies of all the important papers and stuff and finish up some door magnets.
Why can't he just go straight to the Baaahhhrrr1![]()
Side note....they never let us Moms fill out the info for the birth certificate. Maybe they think our handwriting would be bad, I don't know.......but a nurse or hospital aide filled out all 3 of my kids'.
BIP, usually there's a passport office in the main post office. You could call & ask if the name thing will cause any issues - that way if you have to get passports, you'll already know what steps you need to take to make sure the name on the passport is spelled right.Thank you for the concern but I don't even know where a fed passport office would be around here.
Look in you phone dook for federal offices there should be a # to call and ask them. I know that if your ID and tickets to board an airplane don't match it will cause you some small problem but the airline can fix it at the ticket counter. Passports are probaly a little trickyer but with the current backlog of apps. I would act sooner rather than later.
Return to lurk mode
Here is Crash earlier today

Don't remind me. LOL
I just turned 38 and that's how old my MOM WAS when I got married. I really don't like to think about that.. cause I thought she was practically ANCIENT when I got married. Yet I don't feel ancient... i still feel like a big kid. LOL (and I tell ya what- I can't even imagine having a daughter getting married at my age now! I'm not even sure I can handle it when the time comes- hopefully many years from now LOL)
I wanted to say something profound for my 1000th post on this thread but instead I just kept on talking!!!![]()
How do you know when it's your 1000th post on the thread?
