Don't you just love the "Fro"?

Nice do Debi :hippie:

Debi

Been some time since I posted on this board, but yes we are still travelling with you. Now that we are just a little more than a year out, maybe I can get back in and try to keep up with you. :rotfl: :rotfl: Keep up, yeah right like that will happen.

When we booked this trip, it seemed so far away, now a year doesn't seem so bad...lol.

Debi

Hey Debi....Welcome Back!!!!!

Just called HoJo's to extend our stay one night. No problem, the price has gone up about $30 but that's alright, still less than $100 a night and across the street from DL. What more could one ask? :goodvibes

Brendan and I did the same. We booked the entire week before and will adjust if necessary (I will be there for the entire week..he can adjust if necessary!:lmao: )

Chrissie

LOL
Ditto!
I'll be there... with my kids. Whether or not DH will take off work to go there extra days early is still up in the air at this point. It depends on if we can afford him to take the extra days off (I mean it's already like 17 days with just the cruise and getting there a day early... anymore than that is getting darn near close to a month off- yanno?). But it also depends on if he WANTS to. He's not all that fond of the parks really... (which is why I've taken so many solo and with kids only trips in the past)

I did the same thing. When I called, I only booked for 3 or 4 nights. After making a list of all the things we wanted to do, I called back and booked the whole week.

Looks like alot of us will be at HoJo's before the cruise. We will definately have to set up a mini meet. We are there for a week before the cruise. DH will fly in the day before (no way can he get three weeks off)so I was thinking I will stay close to port after I pick him up at the airport

I hear you, that's why the 2 Disney cruises we have been on we have done WDW/DL first. I always need a vacation after that. :rotfl:

Debi

Ain't that the truth - WDW is NOT a relaxing vaca at all

I went to my step brother's wife's funeral this morning. We did not know her very well, except that her and my brother are both drunks. She passed away on the 7th of Psorosis, she was 46 but looked like 76. An "old" friend of hers got up to read an open letter to her and talked about how they rode around with her uncle, at 15, getting drunk and smoking pot and how much fun they had. And then the final song that was played was one I'd never heard of,by Brad Paisley and Alisson Krauss called "Whiskey Lullaby". All I could do was shake my head,:sad2: it felt like I was in the middle of some low budget "black" comedy. My step brother was clearly wasted. How do you respond to something like that?

:grouphug: Sounds like it was a very hard day for you, Debi. So Sad.....I doubt you were the only one shaking your head when the letter was read.

Thanks, You know I just don't miss it any more but I remember everyday "But for the grace of God there go I" I only have today and I will make the best of it. That is all I can hope for everyone else. I believe that I should live each day as if it might be my last. Never know what will happen and I really want others to remember the positive I have offered not words I have said in anger. Enough said got to get back to watch TV with my spouse. Lois

Definately words to live by:thumbsup2 .

I do not know the secret either but I do not want to fool the Dis Mother Nature!!!!:lmao: :lmao: Get it( don't fool with mother nature).

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

.....and don't mess with your TAGS or they go POOF!!!

Um, maybe my post was a little TMI......
:confused3

No, not at all, BIP. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Andrew,

Just curious. Did the Disney Mediterranean cruises (at least yours) seem to have a high draw for Europeans? Kind of wondered if Disney was attracting the European crowd to their cruiseline, or if it seemed to be more Americans who liked the benefits of a European Vacation AND Disney Cruise all wrapped up in one.

Thanks.

By far the most people on the cruise were still from the USA, that was very evident, then I feel the Brit's because my cruise July 28th is within our school holidays a lot of people from the UK with kids.

A guesstimate, about 20% British, there were some people from Europe and Asia, particularly from Spain, Italy, and some from the Middle east, maybe Dubai.

Here a just a few from a time long,long ago.(June 16,1979)

QUIZ

What is this???

For the non Romantic viewers the answer is not a load of padlocks!
Florence.
DCL2007097.jpg

Amalfi
DCL2007059.jpg

The answer is young love.

When boy and girl get together and want to show their long lasting love for each other, they purchase a padlock, put their names on it, and padlock it to the frame of a fence etc.

They then throw away the key, of the cliff, or into the River to show it will last forever!!

Now as Julie is touring Europe inbetween DCL cruises, she gets back on next Saturday for the transatlantic I can get away with this.

If you look at the Amalfi one you will see:-

FRABRIZO for JULIE, her Italian Lover to be!
Well how neat- except for the leftover padlocks all over fences. LOL

Heyyy, I meant to ask you. How in the world did anyone EAT anything off that tower of "whatever it was that you already explained but I can't remember how to spell it" in one of the first photos you showed? It was like a tower of balls 'something'- was that just for looks? how could anyone get one to eat without the entire thing falling down? LOL

No, it just shows you are able to learn from others mistakes. Too many times people have to learn for themselves. It is good you know you have an addictive personality and can deal with it positively. Good for you.
thanks. It wasn't hard to learn from that lesson though...

What a beautiful wedding- thanks for sharing the photos! :)

Thank you BIP. I like to pull them out every year or so and giggle. We were so young! It's amazing how much I look like my Mom now. She was just 1 week shy of her 40th birthday when we got married.

Don't remind me. LOL
I just turned 38 and that's how old my MOM WAS when I got married. I really don't like to think about that.. cause I thought she was practically ANCIENT when I got married. Yet I don't feel ancient... i still feel like a big kid. LOL (and I tell ya what- I can't even imagine having a daughter getting married at my age now! I'm not even sure I can handle it when the time comes- hopefully many years from now LOL)

Only 5 more days till we depart for WDW!

Even though I feel like a zombie I'm still excited. It will be fun to meet everyone on the 25th.

We just bought tickets to the Princess and Pirate Party at the Magic Kingdom on August 28th, should be fun and Piraty!:)

BTW Peter....Are you going to leave a list of names at guard shack and/or send PM's so we know your real last name or do we just tell the guard your DIS name and laugh....

We are going to P&P on Friday night.....

Don't remind me. LOL
I just turned 38 and that's how old my MOM WAS when I got married.

DH and i were just talking today.... i was thinking i feel old with a 14 yo. Then i remembered someone i knew in HS who had a baby at 15. Geez, she would have a 20-21 yo by now :scared1: Now that would make me feel old.

But looking back my mom was 42 when my dd was born. DH and i were already engaged but we could have been married that year.

So i don't think i'll mind too much if my dd gets married in the next 10 yrs (that would give me until 45 at least)

You can tell from the pictures I was early in the queue, and was able to take a lot of pictures before people 'destroyed' the works of art. There are servers around to help you and I think they are fully trained jugglers. I presume you take from the top, ......slowly, like a game of Jenga.

You might all already be aware of this, if so I apologize as I was away on the Magic, but 2008 resort packages for Disneyland are now out, and I have just booked through DREAMS, a pre cruise stay, for four days staying at the Disneyland hotel, on-site.

Now need to book flights in September.

So if you are going to Disney before our cruise you can book now!

Hi -
My DD was returning from vacation today - she just called to say apparently a computer crash (or?) at LAX - she's in Chicago and her flight was cancelled & she can't get any flight to LAX or to the west coast period.
She's got a great attitude - they've never been to Chicago so she's calling it an adventure. A real adventure as her luggage stays at the airport!!!
What a mess!!

that's exactly what I was thinking. Now if they have that on the repo, I'm going to be chanting....Jenga...Jenga...Jenga :rotfl:

Glad I'm not flying through Chicago.

Totally freaked out here now. I leave in about 18 hours. Bags are all packed, except for the carry on. Still need to make copies of all the important papers and stuff and finish up some door magnets.

I was curious too but I see Andrew always gives us all the information!!!
