I was just reading the tipping thread on the main board.:sad2:

I was wondering if it's possible to prepay the tips for the cruise. If so, how would I you go about doing that.

istockphoto_116936_sneaky_business.jpg

You can send ME a check. I'd be happy to hold it in my "Vegas" and "Super-Lotto" acount til embarkation for you! < hacking snickerrring > If not me - then I'm sure SIL can hold it for ya... he's a dyed in the BLUE money person! And see - he's freshly come free from other professional obligations so and going conveniently on a Disney Cruise! He can sort of "try out" your gratuity funds to see if they are any good? <chuckles> However ... you'll have to send ME your funds before I take my cut.... er rather forward them to SIL.

Remember - I only accept small denominations in cash - and prefer you just drop them in a predesignated place (use a plain brown paper bag and a quiet little used garbage can at the park). I'll send you the location info by public fax - give me a while to put together an untraceable message.... <chuckles>

How fun!

I have similar critters chasing me around the hotel room now. There's a little "Super Minnie" who gives me Karate style "Kee EYE" swats and the big sister who justs laughs and screams a lot as we run around the room. We packed few toys this time.

Shoot - who needs a gym membership when you have active little kids to chase and be chased by?

BTW.... I love this picture of yours! I can totally imagine the thoughts behind your childs eyes (even though I can't quite see them) as the pony stick is being wielded!

What I have done over the past few cruises is add $$ by calling DCL and having stateroom credits added to my ressie. This can be done in denominations of at least $25.00 minimum. I found it to be a big help, by the end of the cruise, our bill was very small.

Dont you worry crash! I have been very busy since the return has been filed.

See below:
untitled.jpg

Very NICE! I must confess - in spite of all the images I've posted I never made a freak flag or effective door sign (yet). Our last cruise fellow DIS friends put up a "Happy Anniversery" sign on our door and we used that the whole trip! Yeah - for 11 nites we celebrated our anniversery with that sign more or less. I was so busy back then (having boked for it only 90 days prior to embarkation) that I never got around to making a door sign. BUt I did buy the magnet material to make a sign and I printed photos out to make one.

And here I thought you only accepted payment in Mickey Bars!

OK, I'm not having a good day. I stayed home all day waiting for the Direct TV guy. No go. Stupid trees. I am now 0 for 5 over 9 years trying to get NFL Sunday Ticket. I just want to watch the Browns from my own couch, drinking my own beer, eating my own food! Not that you really care but I need to gripe!

A Breif History of Sk8fam NOT having Direct TV & Sunday Ticket

1998 - stupid little pink rental house (FL) - landlord said no dish. Missed most Browns games that year, we had an infant.

1999-2000 - our very first "we own it" house (FL) - stupid HOA said dish only on back of the house. Ours was facing the wrong way. Don't even get me started on owning a house that you have to ask permission to do stuff to...never again. Caught a few games at a local sports bar.

2001-2003 - bought another house (CT) - lovely wooded lot, too many trees to the south so no reception on dish. Spent many a Sunday at the O'Club watching games.

2004-2006 - bought yet another one (AK) - You know that beautiful mountain I've posted pictures of??? Lovely to look at - messes up TV reception. We were regular fixtures at the Eagle River Bowling Bar...kick off was 8 am so they had a breakfast bar.

2007 - George's neighborhood (VA) - In CT the problem was no line of sight to the south. We have one here! Nope - in VA the line of sight is SW. AARRRGGGHHH! Stupid wooded lot. Just finished looking online & we'll be spending Sundays about 30 minutes away at Kilroy's Restaurant with the rest of the Browns Backers.

Why is this a big deal to me? 1980-1993 I watched games from MY seat on the 30 yard line at old Municipal Staduim.

I am not a happy camper right now. Thanks for reading. Carry on.

OK...

My spouse is WAY late - but she called and she's OK. We're gonna pull into LA with HEAVY TRAFFIC most likely ... so that ought to magnify our schedule pressures. I'm not sure how it's gonna pan out with getting the LCD projector or getting to her dinner tonight in the valley. We may have to accompany her directly to her dinner rather then get dropped off at home before 5PM.

However, I have to vacate my room now and reluctantly it will require I bail on ya all as I shut down so I can fully focus on following the kids as we loiter in the lobby here at the Bakersfield Hilton. It looks like I won't be around for the pirate sprint after all... <sob> so may I pull up my Swabbie ALERT flag and cheer the guys on towards another noble sprint! And toast the ladies on another likely victory as I think they have the symbolic initiative here!

TTFN!

I'm just getting caught up on this thread, emails & the main board & I know this is old news, but I just got to say how excited I am to see that DCL reversed their decision on the $100 per person. I know in the scheme of things it's not much but it brought our total price up over 10K & that was really bothering DH. He's been complaining a lot lately about how much this cruise is costing us, especially when we are dealing with some major renovations on the house so we can sell it & now with house prices dropping so much, we don't think we're going to recoup our money. He also doesn't read the DIS boards, so his emotional attachment to this cruise is not as great as mine.
Anyway, with this reversal & our OBC credits (I love DU!), this cruise is not looking as expensive & I'm just hoping that DH will have such a time of his life, that he will feel that in the long run it was all worth it so I'm not cancelling unless I feel we absolutely have to. I'm just going to wait & see how our financial situation is in the spring & pray that everything looks a little better & DH gets excited about this cruise. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I think I posted earlier but welcome back!!! :yay: Diane, You have no choice.;) Tell DH we all insist you go on the cruise with us!!! Maybe get him involved a liitle in the board like I did with DH. Also any bribery or seducing is okay!!! :rolleyes1 What ever it takes!!! Besides he would not get to meet me!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Sorry, Cheryl! :goodvibes

But I have to tell you....they shouldn't even call it Raspberry Chip, because it's actually chocolate chunks! Sometimes HUGE chunks! It's like finding a little treasure when you come upon one of the big ones!

blackras.jpg

Deanna, are you trying to give me a diet relapse?:confused3 I had to go get a bib to control my drooling.

OMG it is so creamy it almost doesn't taste like raspberry either. It is quickly becoming my new favorite but maybe that is only because I already finished the Buckeye blitz. Yummy. And those huge chunks of chocolate are wonderful.

Okay, one bib is soaked. I had to get an even larger bib.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Is this place only in Ohio????

By the way How is DD doing???? Is the pain gone and is she still going for physical therapy yet????

Just a quick post before I do some ketchup. Had to show you what I got on QVC the other day...
P1000558.jpg

They're sterling and very light,I thought they were sooo cute.

Debi, you must stay away from QVC!!!!;) Did the ring come in gold too.:rolleyes1 My body does not tolerate silver so I need gold. I have too much something in my system and my fingers turn green. Can I buy it over the internet???

Remind me how old he is again? Mine is 12 and he is still crazy!

He's 10 & going to be a big 5th grader this year! Glad to hear yours is still crazy at 12...so there's hope! :thumbsup2

Awwww....

Diane, you've been good company. I'm sitting here in the hotel watching the kids experiment with sugar in water cups and jump from bed to bed as I wait for my spouse to return. Shes' due back any minute actually but has not called yet. We have to get home by 3PM to pick up an LCD projector from a business friend - and then she has a dinner to attend tonight.

So - it's been nice havin' you around to hang around with. You have, however, kept me from reading backwards any to catch up on old postings. I'm only at 70,800 (or 71,800). SO I still got a little ways to go til I'm back to the postings of Aug 1st when I last left town.

And on another note - today I saw there were 102,000 SAHDs versus some 5 million SAHMs. Thats' 50:1... leaving me in a somewhat small group. Sigh... how am I to interpret something like that? I am lucky to still generate a little revenue as a SAHD ... so what of it? I still get self concious at the parks in the middle of the day with my kids as other Moms sort of maintain polite distance.

<silent sighs>

Aw thanks Crash! It was nice having ya'll to chat with too. And look at this way...I know I'm not the only one who thinks it's great that you're a SAHD. Especially since we get to "see" so much of you here!

How fun!

They sure keep you young don't they?

I bought the ring. It is even prettier in person.

oooooh I can't wait to see it! I hope you have it on the cruise!

So sorry to hear your dish woes M! Have a hug!

Hey guys, even though I do not post much, I do keep up daily with the boards - that is until school starts! Here is my question: I saw on the newsletter under the PreCruise plans about booking the crowne plaza as a group rate. However, when I called to book they said it was too early to book for next Aug. Any thoughts?

I don't think the ring or the earrings come in gold. But you can go to QVC and check them out.

Graeters are in Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Indiana, Lexington, Louisville, Northern Kentucky and you can purchase from them online. 6 pints shipped for $50

DD started PT yesterday. She is sore from that and hoping to get off the crutches soon. She would like to start school without having to deal with that. Thanks for asking.

oooooh I can't wait to see it! I hope you have it on the cruise!

Oh I am sure I will have it on the TOAL.

So I always joke with DH that "on paper" there is no way we would be compatable. Yet somehow it works for us. Here is further evidence:

You can take the girl out of the party school, but you can't take the party out of the girl!! :rotfl2:
