8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 15

This is just about how I felt when I got home from work yesterday afternoon, the cartoon below was in my morning newspaper this morning..........

I went to bed at 9:30 last night and slept straight through until 6:30 this morning.

It was 64 for a high here yesterday - downright COLD!!! Today is pitcure perfect and I have to finish painting ceilings. I hate painting ceilings - UGH

Morning

Eric got up this am to go to Football and he came and told us that the freezer isn't working, it is warm and the ice cream is melting..

guess we have ice cream for breakfast.. so I am not sure what the problem is but both freezer and frig is too warm. Luckily, I have an old frig in the garage so i moved everything there and thought I'd stop by on my way to look at frig repair sites..

That happened to me TWICE, except in my case DD left the freezer door open in the basement. Second time she did it she had quite the punishment handed down. I don't think it will happen again

They were good weren't they! My kids can make some good smores, y'all.




I have no idea how to just get in from here. I am logged in here all the time. Oh there is a chat button up there- that takes us right to it? Well why do people always put links? I thought we had to go by the link and I eventually put the chat room on favorites after hunting down a link a few times. Maybe that's why it makes me log in.

What I can't figure out is how people just make up whatever names they want in chat- I can't do that! It will only let me in with my username here AND password. I can't just go in there willy nilly as any name I want. LOL

I don't know how you can post under one name onthe thread and another in chat either - I asked last week in chat but must be a closely guarded secret

Been some time since I posted on this board, but yes we are still travelling with you. Now that we are just a little more than a year out, maybe I can get back in and try to keep up with you. Keep up, yeah right like that will happen.

When we booked this trip, it seemed so far away, now a year doesn't seem so bad...lol.

Andrew Great pics from your cruise. We were supposed to be on that cruise, but had to bale out earlier this year because we knew DD was going to SS for chemistry. But our friends we met on the Mexican Riviera cruise in 2005 were on that cruise, and they had a wonderful time.

..something..i used to feel ..even on land , . iam afraid of
such..conditions..i'm allregic to pain& sufferings. * we always book a
week @ wdw...after our cruises..however, we will not be able to do
so..due to the length & going to disneyland first. forget sea sick...i
get the feeling we'all going have a bad case of "magic fever" afterwards.

* i heard the treatment is to drink a' plenty of rum and ignore work duties.

A couple of things came up in chat last night that I thought worth repeating on the main thread. Since Monica leaves on Monday we started discussing last minute tips. One was to either make copies of your passport, DL & credit cards and leave them in your room safe, or scan them & put them on a memory stick. Another was to make sure you're aware of pickpockets in foreign ports - make sure you don't carry your wallet in your back pocket. If you carry a camera or bag, it is a good idea to get a slash proof bag or strap. A couple of good sites (in case you don't already shop there):

Andrew if you have PCD, then I have PCE - Post Cruise Envy!!! Great pics by the way. 2009 Med would be good - dreaming of Northern Europe maybe Scandinavia/Russia departing Southampton! I would say departing Reading, but I think the Magic would struggle in some of the locks on the Thames. It would make a pleasant change not to have to worry about air fare.

Busy day today as it was Hermione's first day in "big girl knickers". I think we had more hits than misses, but am just off to put the washing on so I know we won't run out of knickers tomorrow. Lauren is busy packing as she has Brownie pack holiday. It will be the first time away from home where she is not staying at family, so it will seem a little strange.

It came to the UK, the only place to accomodate it would be Southampton. Yes there are other ports but to go to Northern Europe from USA its ideal.

Hopefully you can get it fixed. And it seems you caught it early--which is a good thing. We had to replace our freezer in the garage last year---I had to throw away a ton of things.

Pamela, you can call me Sara (like everyone else does). I haven't read the book, but my dad went a couple of years ago with his wife & a couple of friends and it sounded like a blast. I'm thinking of going sometime when my DD is older and a little more able to appreciate the trip.

Hi Sara - I try to use people's names, but I really have a hard time keeping track of DIS names and real names! I'm not that good at names anyway and 2 names for each person doesn't help at all. If I am at all unsure, I use their DIS name since I don't want to offend anyone by calling them the wrong name. For past cruises, I was always able to look at the list on our website to help me remember - they were much smaller cruises and I setup the websites. Hopefully, we'll get to have a list of some sort for this cruise once all the security concerns are covered. I'll try to remember - your's should be somewhat easy since your name is in your DIS name!

No way man. I don't spike my smores! I don't have alcohol in the house. I don't really drink. The last time I had a drink was wine on the LAST CRUISE over a year ago. Ya silly. LOL

HI Everyone - Happy Saturday!

Sorry I missed chat last night. My main computer stopped working on Thursday evening. I went to turn it on and ... nothing ... not a light, whirr, hiccup - just nothing. I suspected it was the power supply since its fan had been making funny noises for a few weeks (which of course I tried to ignore rather than do something about it ) I ordered a new power supply from Gateway on THursday night. (I usually buy parts/pieces 3rd party, but I wasn't totally certain that Gateway wasn't using a proprietary part sized special for the case.)

Of course, there are 3 other computers in the house (plus DH's work laptop) so my PC being dead isn't really a good excuse - I was just cranky about it and didn't feel like doing anything. I vegged in front of the TV with DS8 and watched "What not to wear"!

Amazingly, FedEx brought the new power supply a couple hours ago. I just finished installing it and everything works! Yay!!

I guess I was the PC was only "down" for a day and a half - so I didn't really have an excuse to be in a funk! Of course, I didn't expect Gateway to get me the new power supply that fast...
