"Listening" to all the chat here about pets, I was wondering how many of us have pets?

What kind(s) do you have?
How long have you had your pet(s)?
What is/are your pet(s) name(s)?
What will you do with your pet(s) while on the TOAL?

These were taken a few min. ago. I hope it's not too much TMI. You don't really see all the stitches on his knee. He looks sooooo sad.:sad1:

We have a Cockapoo (1/2 spaniel 1/2 poodle) hamed Rosie. We've had her for a few years now. She is definitely MY dog. She follows me everywhere & sleeps with me. She'll even come & put her head on my shoulder when I'm sitting on the couch. DH says it's "pathetic", but I think he's just jealous! ;)

My neighbors usually take Rosie for us. She loves it there just as much as here. We put her in a kennel a few times, but last time she wouldn't eat at all while she was there. I don't think she'd live through another kennel visit. She's very neurotic and shakes at the smallest noise. I'm glad my neighbor takes her but the only problem is that she gets a little too friendly (if you KWIM with out saying TMI) with my neighbor. She also follows her everywhere like she does me. I guess she is just "claiming" her while I'm gone, but she doesn't do it to me. Very odd.

Here is a pic I stole from the internet. This isn't actually MY Rosie, but it could be. It's the spitting image with rabies tag & all.

2 DOGS:
Casey - is a 10 yr old lab mix from SPCA. She was around 7-8 weeks old when we got her.

Abby- is a 2 yr old pure bred Bernese Mountain Dog. We picked her out from a litter at 8 weeks old and then went back to pick her up a week later. (We were going out of town for the weekend and asked the breeder if she could keep her for another week.)

What will you do with your pet(s) while on the TOAL?

Good question:

The last couple trips have only been a week or so. We have been using a pet sitter that comes over to our house three times a day and walks/feeds/loves/plays with the dogs. Since TOAL may be upwards of almost 20 days, I want them to stay with a person rather than sitter.
My DM already has one dog so maybe she can take one and maybe my GM could watch one. (and with Casey being older, you never know, i may only need to worry about having one then)

Family is preferred but they don't live near me. Sitter will be my backup plan i guess.

Note: The dog sitter will also take care of errant mail and turn lights on/off and stuff. Last trip i stopped the mail and most of it was held but somehow still got packages and mail on various days. :rolleyes1

What kind(s) do you have? Our ST has a cat, but it's more Hazel's cat.
How long have you had your pet(s)? 2 years
What is/are your pet(s) name(s)? Stefani, as is Gwen Stafani
What will you do with your pet(s) while on the TOAL? Still thinking this one over, if we can't find anyone to cat sit, she will most likely be boarded at our vet's office.

We did have a dog, who was MY baby until January 2006. He was a lab/shepherd mix and 11 and 1/2 years old when we had to have him put down. You don't know how much I miss my buddy, buddy........:sad1:

I haven't bought any peanut butter since the recall. I use chicken for training him and he will do anything for plain chicken. I will have to wait till DD gets home, I don't want him left alone.

Aren't brothers nice that way.:rotfl2:

It's what I would have done for my litle sister! :lmao:

I feel like a Willie Nelson song "On the Road Again"! We're headed to the camp outside Martinsburg, WV for the weekend (Women's Retreat).

We just passed Fredneck (:yay: Hey Kristina)

The good thing is I'll be able to post all weekend and be in chat :surfweb: (just late probably). Talk to you later.

For the past month our ST has said she wasn't going to the high school JR.-SR. prom on May 18th. This afternoon, our ST announces she was asked to go to the prom and that she needs a new dress, new shoes, a hair appointment made, a fingernail appointment made, and reserve a limo. My reply was, "OK, go out in the backyard." She looked puzzled and asked, "Why?" To which I replied, "So you can pick some more $$$$ off the tree." Needless to say, she didn't see any humor in that. Nor, did she like it when I said, "You won't be going anywhere, if your mother and I don't meet who you are planning on going with, first." I'm also at a disadvantage this time, the boy is not from our town, so I don't know anything about the family either. This ST of mine is getting slick..............

Adapt.
Evade.
Survive.

Some of the basic principles of SERE training! Has she considered a career in the military? If she comes to the academy here we'll keep an eye on her for you. ;) Perhaps she's training you for the eventuality when she goes on dates and you won't have the option of meeting the guy!

I rember looking at my mom like she had 8 heads when she asked if I got permission from the parents of my Military Ball date to take her? I told her "No, never eve met them. Then again, I'm taking her out, not them!. If they don't think I'm a decent enough guy for their daughter then perhaps they chould have trained her to better weed out bozos!" :teeth:

Nevermind what their sweet "innocent" daughter was up to later :rolleyes1

We're driving west on I-70 between Frederick and Hagerstown, MD. We are going at a snail's pace. :scared1: There must be an accident up ahead.

A Ford Excursion just passed us with the license plate that says:

CYANWDW

My DW figured it out first:

C - YA - N - WDW
:thumbsup2

They also had a chrome Mickey head cover for the hitch.

Do you think they DIS? :lmao:

What kind(s) do you have? 2 Miniature Dachshunds, 1 kitty passed away several weeks ago :sad1: she was 14
How long have you had your pet(s)? 4 years, 5 years
What is/are your pet(s) name(s)? Zoe and Oliver
What will you do with your pet(s) while on the TOAL? Certainly NOT the PetsHotel because they would be way to expensive! Local kennel or maybe we'll leave them at my parents' house when we see them before embarkation?

bwaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

Well my battery is getting low and the inverter is not hooked up so I'm signing off until tonight (or later in the afternoon if I can sneak on-line) :surfweb:

If they don't then there's even nuttier people out there!

Nope, a different fellow. This might sound complicated, this boy, is the friend of Angelina's friend's date for the prom. So, a friend, of a friend, of a friend is the best way to describe it, which makes this dad a wee bit nervous. That's why Hazel and I want to meet him first. Of course, we are being overly protective "AGAIN" according to our ST.

The fellow from the movies the other night, turned out to be just a friend afterall, ST said there wasn't any bells or whistles going off between them.

Have you seen She's Out of Control with Tony Danza? :thumbsup2

"Doug Simpson lives alone with his two daughters Katie and Bonnie. Katie has just turned 15 and when Doug is out of town on a business trip she gets herself treatment at a beauty parlor. She removes her braces and her thick glasses. Without those, she is a beautiful young woman and the boys line up outside the front door to date her. But Doug won't accept that his *girl* is seeing *men*."

The culmination of the movie surrounds the events leading up to the prom!

So DW and DS made it into Philly okay. I guess the flight was rather smooth. I'm assuming DS slept the entire way since the flight left at midnight. BUt that was the end of things going smoothly :(

Airline lost DW's suitcase. :headache: And the baggage officer person was probably more concerned about the dead bug on the bottom of her shoe! (Welcome home sweetie :sad2:) So DW has a phone number to call (no claim number mind you) and she has 24 hours before the bag is considered "lost". :sad2: Did I mention that DS' diapers are in that suitcase? Granted we're not using the cloth pocket diapers right now but it's still a pain for her to have to hit the store just because of these bozos!

No Skycaps at the baggage claim area that timeof day (0530) but hey, she had only one (not two) suitcase to deal with alsong with the baby stroller and the baby in his car seat. At least we have that attachment that turns the car seat into a piece of rolling luggage.

No car rental shuttle. They finally came and got her....but no car!!! Silly silly DH set up the rental for 5/1 but the overnight flight arrived on 5/2!!!! :guilty: Of course they were totally out of cars! They did scrounge up a Chevy Aveo....hmmmm DW, DS, DS' car seat, big duffel bag, plus 2 other friends and their crap heading up to Nana's house?  No way. Instead, they gave her the keys to a brand new 2007 Jeep Commander! :woohoo:

So now they are at our friend's house and she's trying to relax...kinda hard to do when you don't have anything to change into!
