I put ketchup in the meatloaf before it is cooked. We use brown gravy on it along with the mashed potatoes. :) Today would be a great day for that but I have some scallops to fix...probably with a cream sauce on linguini.

Good catholic parent.....

Remember not to feed your son Meat today or he might tell his CCD teacher.

To cap it it all off, a lady standing outside the store made a rude remark to my DH as he was carrying my screaming DD out. I think she thought she was throwing a tantrum over not getting candy. Suffice it to say my DH's response was not too nice and once she saw the blood dripping off DD's foot, I think she felt very bad and embarrassed about being so snotty. Just goes to show that you can never jump to conclusions.

I hope that your DD is fine by now. I am stunned at why there are people who think that antagonizing the situation is going to help it. :headache:

of course i get to be the bad catholic this year because protein is one of the few things i can eat. (so i guess i get a pass)

But i promise...i'll eat the tuna for lunch instead of the beef stew i brought with me.

Oh! Can anyone remind me what those competitive school Lego teams were called and where to find out more about them? Thanks.

When my son did it about six years ago in middle school, it was called the robotics club. It was a Lego Mindstorms type of kit that they worked with, and there were specific tasks that they had to create the robot for.

Thanks for your response! :thumbsup2
I actually do very much enjoy spending time with everyone's kids...
and I never had any problem with it until recently. With all of the preperations for the adoption, we've been very busy. We've expressed this to all of our friends and family, and apologized if we seem to be ignoring anyone.
But the past few times we've been asked to babysit, we say no, and that we're sorry but we have too much stuff going on. And instead of saying, "Hey, we understand...you've got a lot on your plate.", we feel like we're getting the cold shoulder. I don't know, it could just be me. I might just be overly sensitive. And I will whole-heartedly admit that we've been a bit selfish with our time and energy lately because we simply want to focus on our family and what's happening with us. I know that sounds horrible, but I just feel like this is "our time", and some of our friends and family don't seem to understand...and maybe they shouldn't. Maybe we're totally wrong to be selfish.

This is really more of a rant than anything, and maybe I should have put it on my blog instead of here. (although here is the SAFEST place for it, since I know most of the people I'm talking about won't read it here...LOL)
I don't mean to offend anyone. I just needed to rant for a bit...*sigh*

OK, rant over. Back to your regularly scheduled programming...:rolleyes1

OK, they are upset because they are losing their free drop in sitter. TOO BAD! Stand tough. When we were expecting DS DH & I realized that our life would be changing soon and we appreciated that by taking advantage of the time we had alone. We had DS 13 months after we got married, though we wanted to start a family right away and were 30 when we got married so had the time to grow together before getting married. You are going thru the same process and it is selfish of those who are expecting you to drop it all to take care of their kids. YOU ARE NOT BEING THE SELFISH ONES!!!! :grouphug: We don't have family around here to watch the kids...not that there is anyone who I would leave them with in the family...so if we want to go out we pay a sitter. We don't go out very often at all...pretty much too tired after a long day and DH's hours at work. We like to spend time together as a family.

HI All, just a drive by posting to let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth but I've been really sick. Started last evening and continued all night into the early hours this morning. I still haven't had anything solid to eat and the liquids are going through me.

Anyway, I won't be around anymore today and I'm pretty far behind so I will probably rely on the summaries to get me through.

TTFN

Goodness...so many of you sick over the weekend. I hope that you are all doing better now. I am trying to ketchup with the summaries.

Laura,

I heard a CD at my mom's one time. The father on the CD was telling his DD's date he didn't have any problem going back to jail if the boy tried any funny stuff with his DD. I have used that line a time or two myself, you should have seen the boy's face, he didn't know if I was kidding or not, it was priceless!!! :lmao:

LOVE THAT LINE!!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I just received this from one of my cousins, thought I'd share, even if it is a day early..................:lmao:

I just ordered 2 sets of these. I hope it is fun. I had a GC for Barnes & Noble that I had forgotten I had.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Pirates Dice

Pirates of the Caribbean Pirates Dice. Think you can see through your opponent's lies? This dice set includes 4 pirate cups and 20 die that are similar to the ones shown in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The dice don't lie but you might have to in this fast-paced game of trickery and deceit. Do you have what it takes to be a real pirate? To stay alive in Pirates Dice, you must bluff or be bluffed. To win in Pirates Dice, you must double cross your way to victory. "Never trust a pirate!"

I picked up the POC set at Target that has the dice game, chess game, & checkers for DS. It will be one of his Christmas gifts this year.

Don't think I'd do Zumanity with a 7 y.o. We were thinking of Ka or O if we come out this fall. DW and I saw Mystere already and would see it again, but would like to see something different.

Didnt realise that a 7 year old would be involved ...You have to be 18 to see zumanity ....Maybe I read something wrong , sorry didnt know you would have the child with you ..

Helloooooo Everyone and Happy Monday!!!!

Guess what???? I came home from work, exhausted I might add, turned on my TV and it's fried, kaput, finito.

Ran to Best Buy to buy a new TV :scared1: :scared1: at the prices of TVs now :scared1: and while on the way to BB, ran over a nail and got a flat.

I think I better go to bed now :rotfl: :rotfl:

:surfweb: Hello all!

I've got lots of reading to do here, but not nearly as much as if I'd missed a few days a month ago.:rotfl:

Andy...Congrats to Angelina!!! I'm sure she'll have a blast working at BaB. And I hope Hazel feels better speedy quick!

Lorri...hope you and your son are both doing better. DD has missed 3 days this week with 103.5* temp but I think she's on the mend now.

Okay...now to go back and read some more. See you soon!

MR,

I was thinking that - many of the top people out. Are we saying that Lisa, J. R., Mark and Lorri talk too much? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: It's kind of like work, the bosses leave and the workers just slack off. :rotfl:

OK...now I know how you feel.

Tomorrow my DH is having MOHS surgery on a basal cell carcinoma on his left temple. A specialist referred him to yet another specialist in Princeton NJ because the lesion is laying on the nerve that controls the forehead. Now he's had a few lesions removed over the years, so the surgery isn't scaring him, but he idea that he may no longer have control over his forehead muscles has him concerned. Well I am worried about him and my first reaction.....fall into a dead sleep! Please keep good thoughts for John tomorrow, the procedure may take many hours. Thanks!
:grouphug: Your family is in my prayers! Lots of pixiedust: for all of you!!!

I just got back from taking my DD (12) to get her hair cut. She had over a foot of hair cut off & she donated it to Locks for Love. It was down to her lower back & is now just below her shoulders. Wow what a change!

The other day we went & got her ears pierced. It's funny because she was holding out & adamant that she was "Never getting holes" in her ears. Well out of the blue she comes home from school and says, "I want my ears pierced!" Okaaaay. :confused3 I guess she looked around in school & she said, "Mom every single girl has her ears pierced! And I mean every one! I didn't see one girl that didn't have holes in her ears or earrings on!" Along with the piercing, we had to buy big silver hoop earrings, "because that's what everyone wears!" She can't wait till the 6 weeks are up so she can put them on. What the heck happened to my little girl? Who stole her? :scared:
How old is your DD? When my DD, soon to be 8, was in Kindergarten, she had hair to the middle of her back. She decided to get it cut...to chin lenght. I wasn't prepared for that. But, my Mom was a cancer victim, inclusive of hairloss, and DD wanted to help in her way. So, to mark the 1 year anniversary of my DMom being an  DD had her hair cut and donated. Certainly one of my prouder moments!!! And we, too, had the very same dialogue about earrings. Just this January she decided she was over it and wanted them pierced. Oh, where does the time go?

BIP -- Shelley -- let us know how you are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shelley...hope you're well!!! Still in our prayers! pixiedust:

Hi All --

Just checking in today. Art class got cancelled (again) so I might actually have some freeier time this afternoon . . .okay, well not so free, but at least it seems like that right now . . .LOL

Lisa, Jeff and I have been emailing and he's working on the final steps to finish up the website password stuff. I'm so thankful for the help!!!

So how is every one doing on this fine St. Patrick's Day Eve . . .

Just stay out of my photos, Brack! ;)

I also get up early and wander. Not 3 am, but the ship is still empty between 6 and 7 when I usually roam. Well, not empty, that would be weird, but all the pesky people I don't know and don't want in my pictures are either tucked away in their rooms, or passed out on Deck 7.

Great photos BTW!

ROFL! It sounds like you guys will have a pack roaming the ship in the early hours. Add DH to the list. :rotfl:
