Andy, so glad to hear Hazel is resting and feeling a bit better. Good luck to Angelina tomorrow!!

*SIGH* Meteorologist says that we're about to re-enter the roller coaster that is weather in St. Louis.

One more day on the 70's, then it's cooler and thunderstorms for the rest of the week, into the weekend. (figures...I have to WROK on the good days...LOL)

(I meant WORK...LOL)

So I missed "Substitute Lisa" by just a few minutes earlier...
Hmmm...

My DH would expect to see Led Zeppelin and King Crimson in the top 10.

On New Years many Classic Rock stations will play the Top (any number) Songs of all time. Most will list "Stairway to Heaven" at Number 1. It's hard to believe that the band who plays the number one song doesn't have an album in the top 10. :confused3

The board is running so slow I thought it must be my connection. So I ran a speed check and found it to be over 8mb with a excellent rating.

That's very true about Led Zepplin brack, I threw in King Crimson because it's a fav of his, not that he'd expect they'd be in the top ten.......

I too think the Beatles and the Beach Boys are a no-brainer, but we're no Dylan fans either, so I don't understand multiples.........And then, what about Elvis, didn't he change the face of music?

O.K. all caught up. Looks like the pace really slowed down again.

Guess I'll start doing some work.

I'll keep checking back.

brack I have found it to be running slow since around dinnertime....now it's much worse though!

Thanks Paula. She is a pretty incredible woman. She lived on her own up until last August when she broke her hip. She is pretty much completely healed, but Aunt (her daughter) who lives in the SF area feels more comfortable leaving her in the Assisted Living home since she is not here to look after her. My father passed away 11 years ago, so he's not here to put in any comments. She would be back in her own house, but it is a two-story and the only bathroom is on the second floor. My grandfather actually built that house in 1938. Didn't have the foresight to put that second bath in - and they had 3 kids.

She takes one day at a time and doesn't let anything get to her. She'll remember the past but not dwell over it. I remember when my mom died (5 years ago), she didn't want to come down and see her. She later said that she wanted to remember her like she always was, not sick.

She says I don't have the Belgian blood in my. I told her thanks, guess I'll be gone by my mid-70's like all the other men in my relation then.

There are a lot of assisted living centers that are very nice. My Nana wil be 89 in May and still lives at her home, but really needs to move to an ALC. She has taken many tumbles, but luckily no broken bones. She also has a multi level home. I can't imagine being faced with having to leave my home, but it was wonderful your grandmother was able to stay in hers so long.
Have fun at the party. She deserves a big one!:)

This goes under the category of better late than ever, but I want to thank whomever posted the recipe for brussel sprouts. I just tried making them today, and they were absolutely delicious! A little too salty, but I think I didn't have the full amount of sprouts required by the recipe. Thanks again for posting it.

You can rinse the sprouts before cooking and put less salt into the recipe. I like salty food so this would never bother me.

MR, How do you like your new TV? Did you get a fancy one?

I think it has been very slow today too.

I like Friday night chats.....much faster.

You know I am sitting here (well laying here in bed) contemplating my new TV. The TV that died last night was an 8-year-old 32" Sony Trinitron. It was somewhere over $1,000. Now I may have mentioned a time or two that I'm cheap. Well that salesmen hard-sold us into that TV. It was more $$ then I wanted to spend on a set. Top of line.....long life....blah, blah, blah...and we bought it. Mind you, our 17-year-old Sharp and 22-year-old Zenith still work, but the Top of the Line Sony is kaput! So last night I didn't want to be SOLD anything. We went in for the TV on sale, period. We wound up with a LCD flat screen 32" widescreen HDTV TV. It is pretty neat too! It is an unknown brand, but hey, it only cost $599. If it lasts 5 years, then dollar for dollar we did better than we did with the Sony.

Wow Paula, I was typing this as you were asking.....Great Minds and all that!
