Good night MR:) Have sweet dreams

This goes under the category of better late than ever, but I want to thank whomever posted the recipe for brussel sprouts. I just tried making them today, and they were absolutely delicious! A little too salty, but I think I didn't have the full amount of sprouts required by the recipe. Thanks again for posting it.

Which recipe did you use. Mine was olive oil and lime juice.

MR,

Do you find 32" to be too big for a bedroom?

We are currently with a 13" but am looking at the LCDs. Our original thought was 15", but I'm thinking of going toward 20".

We have digital cable, so the picture should be pretty good, but not as good as the HD channels downstairs on the 50" Sony (although DW will probably have me upgrade the upstairs cable box). For that TV, we went with LCD Projection. Not at big or heavy as the other projections, but not as slim as the LCD or Plasma.

As for brand, it wouldn't matter to me either. My problem is finding one that has good viewing angles and tilts down toward the bed. Most only have the 110* viewing angles. The other problem I'm finding with the LCDs are the speakers on the smaller ones are no better, if not worse, than laptop speakers. :sad2:

We bought a 42" Samsung LCD last fall and paid $$$$$. It was disappointing until we sprung for HD channels from our cable provider. The HD channels look great .... so great I rarely watch the low def channels anymore :happytv:

We still have limited HD channels with our cable. Sometimes makes me wish I had stayed with sattelite. But I got so aggravated of not having TV when it rained or when the weather was really bad and you wanted to know what was going on.
We have 2 Samsungs. I really like them. But I get aggravated when I see the price has dropped on them. Timing......

Then i reached over and patted my husband on the back for a job well done.....how in the world could he have tolerated all those years married to me :rotfl:

Aw MR it must be not only because you are nice, pretty & you have a great sense of humor....but those feet? How could any man resist??? ;)

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

That is hysterical!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks Roger!!! Our doc called in two presciptions for Hazel, I have to go pick them up at CVS when they are ready. The doc said other than the IBS, she is in great shape, Hazel had a CBC done yesterday, and all the test results came back just fine!!! :goodvibes

Hazel is in bed resting.

Andy I hope Hazel feels better! Send her my best!

Of course in my Top Ten this is a must: Baby Got Back...SIR MIX-A-LOT

I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny............

:rotfl2:

Today was my post-op appt for the bone graft and I guess the 3rd time's the charm - to quote "it was very, very successful" - I gues that's why the guy from UCLA gets the big bucks (out of my pocket!!) However, I am so, so relieved - I'll get implants and have teeth again - otherwise I'd be going on the cruise like Granny Clampett!!
Chris

So happy that things went well for you! :thumbsup2

That's very true about Led Zepplin brack, I threw in King Crimson because it's a fav of his, not that he'd expect they'd be in the top ten.......

I too think the Beatles and the Beach Boys are a no-brainer, but we're no Dylan fans either, so I don't understand multiples.........And then, what about Elvis, didn't he change the face of music?

MR I knew I loved you for a reason!!! TG you said Elvis! I was quoting all these votes for Zepplin, Floyd, etc. & was going to say...Hellooooo what about Elvis but you said it for me! :yay:

That's the catch brack...Insignia (I think maybe a Best Buy Brand)

I just now saw an Olevia 32" LCD Widescreen HDTV TV advertised at KMart for $499!! I was RIPPED OFF, I'm returning my Insignia and getting an Olevia!!

NOT!!!!

DH would kill me.................:rotfl: :rotfl:

Olevia...that's what we have. Works great for a no-namer...so far anyway. We've had it about a year. Boy you guys got chatty again!

Don't even look at electronics pricing after you buy something. They always go down drastically. The guys at Best Buy said the best time to buy the electronics is in the early fall, right before they bring the new lines out for the holiday season. They always try to get rid of the old models.

I don't mind last year's model. It's like with computers. I never buy the most recent version of anything. I'm not a techy, so I don't need all the bells and whistles.

Well guys, DW just came up to go to bed. I think I'm going to turn in as well.

I could stay up and do more work, but I'll just be wiped tomorrow. Just have to get up at 5:45 anyways, so I'll do it then.

Good night.

Roger

Is there anything on the OTC market that helps stop or reduce vomiting? DS now has what I had and what I don't particularly like going through, I really don't want to see DS continue to suffer with.

TIA for anything!

Lorri so sorry this sickness is running rampant through your house. Hope everyone is feeling better soon! :grouphug:

DS has a 20" LCD in his bedroom. He wants a larger one. Alan & I have never had a TV in our room. We have ours all mounted on the wall, I think they have some adjustment in the mounts.

Good night Jeff. Have a great Wednesday.:)

I never look back on these things or I'll always be second guessing myself .... or never buying anything! :confused3

You guys know that I'm in HR right? Well in 2005, the first time I was involved with hiring someone born in 1984 I looked at him, a big strapping 21-year-old young man and thought, this is the human embodiment of my marriage. Now your probably thinking that's weird, I did too, but it was really an amazing way to visually quanitify my marriage and think about how long a period of time being married to someone for 21 years really is.

Then i reached over and patted my husband on the back for a job well done.....how in the world could he have tolerated all those years married to me :rotfl:

Joke_PatBack.gif

I don't think I quite mentioned this yet - but I have not been "with" my spouse 22 years... she recently reminded/corrected me and we have actually been together 24 years... and I have been correct about saying we've been married 12 years.

So I believe our history has us at 24 years, 4 months, 5 days, 1 hour and I guess about 26 minutes since our first date.

And I am still waiting to get a pat on the back. :confused3

LL-Pat%20on%20Back.gif

Edited in at 12 midnite... I read this posting to my wife and I finally got my "pat in the back" from her... sigh...

The best thing that I recommend form personal experience especially considering children would be Ginger Ale. I have lots of stuff at work but all prescription (Zofran, Compazine, Anzemet, Phenergan) but over the counter meds just do not cut it. Unfortunately he has already started vomiting. Ginger Ale works for nausea but hard to stop vomiting. It would be an option once he starts taking liquids. Just make sure that he does not get dehydrated.

Oy, I remember whenever I was sick, My mom would come home with coke syrup from the corner store and make me drink it .:faint: I can't remember anything as awful, except a cough syrup they used to give me called terpenhydrate(?) Now that was awful. But you didn't dare cough again.
Both my husband and my DD have Zofran. Her kids have a condition that warrants they keep their meds down when sick. My DH toook it during his Chemo and never had a problem. We take it on the ship with us as well.

Yet another ode to full figured loveliness and a classic by Queen:

Are you gonna take me home tonight ?
Ah down beside that red firelight
Are you gonna let it all hang out ?
Fat bottomed girls
You make the rockin' world go round

Ya know how to combat that dontcha?

Bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like

Board is too slow. I'm done for now.

You know I am sitting here (well laying here in bed) contemplating my new TV. The TV that died last night was an 8-year-old 32" Sony Trinitron. It was somewhere over $1,000. Now I may have mentioned a time or two that I'm cheap. Well that salesmen hard-sold us into that TV. It was more $$ then I wanted to spend on a set. Top of line.....long life....blah, blah, blah...and we bought it. Mind you, our 17-year-old Sharp and 22-year-old Zenith still work, but the Top of the Line Sony is kaput! So last night I didn't want to be SOLD anything. We went in for the TV on sale, period. We wound up with a LCD flat screen 32" widescreen HDTV TV. It is pretty neat too! It is an unknown brand, but hey, it only cost $599. If it lasts 5 years, then dollar for dollar we did better than we did with the Sony.

That is all we have in the house now is LCD, I have a plasma in the den. Prices on TVs nowadays are great compared to a couple of years ago. Hope you enjoy! And hopefully you will get many years out of it.

Don't even look at electronics pricing after you buy something. They always go down drastically. The guys at Best Buy said the best time to buy the electronics is in the early fall, right before they bring the new lines out for the holiday season. They always try to get rid of the old models.

Yeah...

... as some may recall, I just bought a 30" 16x9 ratio screen - near HD with 480i lines - not 720p... but I have a medium sized HD 3LCD RP TV... and this one which was picked up last week or so was to replace a TV in the family room. That TV died LAST YEAR but we got by without one for all this time - and when I saw this one - it was a $799 MSRP unit which usually sold at Best Buy for $599. THey had it marked down to $399 with a $200 gift card thrown in to sweeten the deal. I gave a soft shoe dance request a better deal so they upped the gift card to $250... making the net cost only $149. WHat a bargain.... and I have it in the family room now and it is the 2nd least costly TV I have ever bought - not counting the 3 video baby monitors I bought. One I bought then sold on ebay... then we had a 2nd child and I bought a matching pair of monitors from Sharper Image Outlet - and aside from these - the $149 Toshiba I bought is the cheapest.

How can I complain? For that price it cost me about $1.35 a pound!

I just got back from taking Angelina to her school musical practice, just as I returned the phone was ringing, it was the manager from B-a-B, he wants to see Angelina tomorrow afternoon at 4pm for a more in depth interview. He also said Angelina did quite will with the 100 question survey she took this afternoon!!! :goodvibes

Now, if you could keep good thoughts and say prayers for Hazel. She started having severe IBS attacks after we arrived home from dinner tonight. Hazel has an appointment to see our family doc this Thursday. She first starting having IBS attacks in December 2004, then they stopped in February on 2005, never had anymore problems until just a few weeks ago, now they are getting more severe again. :scared:

I wanted to post something earlier but - well - I just sort of watched and followed the progeress. I know you stepped out at what looked like 10PM your time to see the doc. I was wonderin' whether they actually had hours that late!? At any rate... you certainly have our hopes and well wishes for Hazel. I don't know what IBS is - but I hope it is managable this time around.

With somber well wishes....

I don't know if this was before or after the doctor visit - I'm somewhat confused - but this sounds like Hazen is doing better. And that is great to hear of....!
