We are flying on Alaska. The fare from Seattle to Orange County leaving on Aug. 13 was $119.00 + tax, so total of $129.50. My DH can't come until Saturday, and his ticket went up. The fare was on their website.

Thanks, we're flying Alaska as well. Off to check our fares.

ETA: Went and checked. Our fares have gone up - approx. $150 per person since I booked. We fly to Seattle on the 13th and then to LA on the 14th. Are you flying home on the direct flight from Orlando on the 1st?

Hi Guys - just taking a quick break - but wanted to post here - will the person who lives in Washington DC and who's hubby works at the Smithsonian please PM me? I apologize but I can't seem to remember who that was.

There has been A LOT going on and I didn't mean to ignore you - just have a lot on my plate -

BTW - ROGER - DH went to the P.O. on Saturday to mail your package but it was closed so he is under strict orders to get it mailed out to you on Monday. Will pm you later.

I am now living out of Sheraton Premier at Tysons Corner - temporarily at least - unless I find something in town which I'm tempted to do. OK all - back to my regularly scheduled task - Later all - :wave2:

Where is everybody? :confused3

Been out playing in the lake all day, then dinner, then a compeditive game of pool FIL & DW vs. DD and myself.

Heading to just south of Myrtle Beach tomorrow.

Nite all.

Thanks for finding that Julie. I really appreciate it! You are all knowing and wise!::yes::

You are very welcome -- all knowing and wise :goodvibes I just did a google search . . .;)

For those of you that are driving / parking at the DL hotels the resort fee has just increased to $12 per night, plus tax = $13.80 per night

Thanks, Jo -- although in the big scheme of the cost of those hotels, the extra dollar a night plus tax is probably not going to be the deal breaker for most!:rotfl:

Ok..home from the BBQ...and I should be packing..but I was so excited..we went to Target today to find a pair of shoes I wanted...told Richard to check out the electronic section for the ever "sold out" Wii Fit....he got the last one!  As he was given the Wii Fit..someone else asked for one..said they had just called...it may have been Father's Day but I got the present!

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day and weekend..i am off to pack because contrary to Tori's belief..the packing fairy is not paying our home a visit tonight.

Oh, bummer. Yes, we are flying home on the 6 pm flight, non-stop to Seattle. Do you fly Alaska from Vancouver or Horizon from the island? I just happen to have a relative who might work for one of those companies which is why I am a little more familiar with their flights.;)

Attention.....Looking for mndisfam

I need some information from Kathleen. Anyone knowing this person........could you please have her contact me!! It is in regards to link dining!!!

Thank god summer break is here !!
DS11's team won the championship. The score was 2-1 & they played 6 innings in an hour. Quickest game I was ever at.
Congrats on the big win and short game:banana:

We IN!:yay: :yay: :yay:

That would be me jumping with joy. My DH decided to take the risk and on Friday booked the rooms for us. A big deal since in soon to be 20 years of marriage this is the first trip he has booked. I am the offical family travel agent.

The entire family is so excited and I have shifted into panic mode. - not really - but I usually start months out and I feel really behind. I am trying to read everything you guys have put out there. Which is an amazing and almost overwhelming amount. - what a great group.

We linked our dining this morning. If there are any other deadlines please PM me so I don't miss them.

:dance3: :dance3: Just one more happy dance before I post!:dance3: :dance3:
WELCOME ABOARD:yay:

I'm truly sorry to hear of this....

... as some may already recall - we've had a good friend who has been battling renal cancer - it was diagnosed a little over a year ago as advanced with what we understood to be a prognosis of something like 10% chance of reaching 2 years. Well... she took treatment and had surgery to remove one of her (kidneys?) ... and then they discovered the cancer had spread - and they found a lump in her head (brain) - which they removed. Fortunately, there appears to be no change to her mind or memories. That was a few months ago - and just a week or so back we learned they had found another lump growing in her head. So they're going to try some kind of gamma knife (focused radiation) then probably surgically remove it again. The chemo they've recently started is costing $8000 a month however, it is one of those "new age" medications which is "targeted". It has minimal side effects but is clinically proven to be effective for a significant number of patients. Fortunately, her health insurance is good and is mostly paid for by insurance (whew - Alicia works for the same company - so we now know the health insurance benefits are generous enough).

This has actually been very VERY sad for us and obviously tragic for them - however, we are soldiering on to be supportive and enabling in having good times as usual as much as possible with them. What can anyone really do in times like this... they have a young child and they're approximately our age! Gee... :confused3 ... I had been driving our friend to her clinical visits - having some long chats with her about all kinds of things ... enuf so to brings some tears to my eyes as I drove at times. Alas, that is how it is sometimes, eh?
I've heard good things about the gamma knife:thumbsup2
Hope things take a turn for the better:hug:

SCORED big time at Walgreens today.
I saw in the paper that they had my new best friend, Neutrogena sunscreen spray on sale. Now, the sale price was the normal Wal Mart price but.... they had a "free with purchase" suncreen stick which normally goes for $8.00 by itself. Then... when I went to pay I chose the 70 spf (can't be too sure) which had a free sample tube attached and..... the cashier gave me the price for the 45 spf (saved $1.00 per bottle) and wait that's not all... She also had $2.00 off coupons for each bottle!!! Soooo I got 3 bottles of 70 spf Neutrogena spray sunscreen, 3 full size suncreen sticks, and 3 samples tubes for a grand total of $16.50. Yay me!!!!

Went to Limited Too to buy some more clothes for the girls. Megan left for tennis camp this afternoon and I was scrambling to find enough shorts for her. Found out later there were about 6 pair of shorts in the ever growing plie of dirty laundry. Oops! Oh well- Got them on SALE w/ an extra 25% coupon!! :woohoo:
Last stop was Eddie Bauer. They had some nice wicking shirts on sale starting tomorrow. I went by to beg them to sell them to me today at the sale price and caught the manager marking them down as I was there so I got the hassle free sale price!! :cool1:

Lucky shopping day for you:thumbsup2
I'm still trying to catch up on laundry too:headache:

DH and I were looking at lunch at Blue Bayou at 11:40 am on the 15th. (Yes i know it's a little early but they said our chances of getting seated by the rail are good and for me being an east coaster, my tummy will still be on eastern time.)

I tentatively reserved a table for 10 cause i was hoping maybe some other pirates would join us.

Update:All seats claimed for my reservation.

Others still welcome to dine around that time. However, you will need to contact Disney directly to see if any tables left.

You will likely have to wait for a table close to the water... We always have. We usually send someone ahead to check in and everyone else is "in the bathroom"...

Have fun though! That's our 'must do' restaraunt, I'm so jealous!

Happy Fathers day to all Dads out there!!

I showed this to Alicia - and she had a good chuckle with a nice predatory shopping grin!

Just wanted to wish all the dads out there a happy father's day! Hope you all had a nice day.

Thanx!

In addition to some other nice little things .... I got one of these (black) for Fathers' Day...

I guess she thought my putzing around with my little 2 GB Sansas was due for a change... and I could stand for it too. I had hinted some time ago that I would not mind one these Zune 30GB players - but not the expensive Zune 80 or Apple 80GB players - as I have been known to be rough with my players - and I might feel glum about breaking or losing one of those snazzy and expensive players - alas, I could stomach an accident with a somewhat more modest Zune 30.

I sure hope so. The situation for our friend is ...growing increasingly difficult to put it mildly.

Great Pics - you bringing your camera Tuesday?

Of course!

The pool's heated baby:thumbsup2 . Seriously, unless it is pouring I'm sure the kids will want to swim. I have a three season porch so we can always move it inside if needed.

Sounds great!

And we all know, the weatherman are never wrong around here :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We'll be there - rain or shine!

No worries, Crash. Just remember a few local rules and you will be just fine:

The rules of the Boston roads below are hilarious - if it were not so berly TRUE! Why just today I was silently wondering about how my BIL never once was near the speed limit - and this evening I noted how he slowed a little and another car coming towards our intersection simply RAN the stop sign while we had no stop sign and we HAD the right of way! Bizzarre!

The yellow light is not, as commonly supposed outside the Boston
area, a signal to slow down. It is a warning to speed up and get
through the intersection before the light turns red.

Always look both ways when running a red light.

Turn signals are a sign of weakness.

Similarly, never attempt to give hand signals, Boston drivers, unused to such courtesies, will think you are waving them on to pass you.

When asking for directions, always ask the person to spell out the name of the street since you will not recognize it from their pronunciation.

If you miss your turn, never plan on circling the next block to get back. No
two blocks in Boston are parallel.

Learn to swerve abruptly. Boston is the home of slalom driving,
thanks to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, which puts potholes in key
locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them on their toes.

And last of all don't forget--the expression "You can't get there from here"
originated in Boston.

The rest you can learn along the way :lmao: :lmao:

....ed]....

OMG no truer words were spoken! Here's a few more:

Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under the wheels of your car.

When in doubt, accelerate.

The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you see. Grab it.

Never put your faith in signs that purport to provide directions. They are put there to confuse people who don't know their way around the city.

Use extreme caution when pulling into breakdown lanes. Breakdown lanes are not for breaking down, but for speeding, especially during rush hour.

Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right.

In making a left turn from the right lane, employ the element of surprise. That is, do it as suddenly as possible, so as to stun other drivers.

Speed limits are arbitrary figures posted only to make you feel guilty.

Remember that the goal of every Boston driver is to get there first by whatever means necessary.

Above all, keep moving.

Truer words could NOT have been spoken. I'm out here in Boston marveling at the truth in the humor of these sage words of "advice"...

We're on the same flight on the 1st then. The direct one leaving at 6:25. What are your plans for the day? We haven't decided what we're doing yet. Typhoon Lagoon is a possibility. We fly Horizon from the island - much rather deal with customs in Victoria @ midnight than finding my luggage in Vancouver/dealing with customs and boarding another flight.
