In 2005, this cruise went into very rough seas, we went through the tail end of a hurricane and missed Cabo San Lucas, going into port the following day at Manzanillo.

The ship did 'move' a lot in the active seas,(Cabo day) and out of LA it was cold first sea day.

We had some rain in Acapulco, arriving in a storm, but then it turned out nice, following that we had good weather for the rest of the trip, but we had a storm at Castaway on arrival, and Hurricane Katrina was doing her worst in New Orleans when we were in the Southern Caribbean.

Its a risky time, but I hope we have a better trip this time.
Let's hope so! YIKES!!

I'll let you know on September 1st...:rotfl2:
:rotfl2:
ZERO...

... the ship always sails away or around bad weather, however... if you meant to say - how likely it would be for our voyage to BE INFLUENCED by bad weather while enroute? Well... it IS hurricane season while we're sailing - and as we draw into the Carib the season is waning... I would say it is minimal however a remote possibility. However, any hurricane would have to directly cross our path at about the right time! Whenever possible - they would simply adjust the port rotation or route - and we'd be mostly fine I'd say... however... here is some data for your consideration:

SO - may I simply suggest you consider the following...

You are right! That's EXACTLY what I meant to say! Thanks for the charts and figures!

I am so excited! I happened to go online to our airlines webiste and our tickets had actually dropped $30 a ticket from Seattle to Orange County. I called the airline and they are giving me a $90 travel voucher to be used within one year! I love to save money!:cool1:

Does anyone know if they charge to park at the Grand Californian? It is the first time we have stayed there and I don't know. We are vacation club members, does that make any difference? Thanks for any information!
WOO HOO!!!
Ok..home from the BBQ...and I should be packing..but I was so excited..we went to Target today to find a pair of shoes I wanted...told Richard to check out the electronic section for the ever "sold out" Wii Fit....he got the last one!  As he was given the Wii Fit..someone else asked for one..said they had just called...it may have been Father's Day but I got the present!

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day and weekend..i am off to pack because contrary to Tori's belief..the packing fairy is not paying our home a visit tonight.
Lucky you! I'm still looking for my Wii Fit!

I am officially packed and ready to go! :yay: I will have my laptop with me and try and ketchup at night when we get to our hotels.
See you Saturday!

Hope you are having a great time in Boston!! Are you going to walk the Freedom Trail???:confused3 :confused3 Don't forget lots of pictures from the mini meet and make sure Diane and MaryAnn have a drink for me!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :dance3:

Hola Cheryl from beautiful Boston!

It's raining modestly today and - predicted to rain tomorrow. We'll not push the wandering much as we'll just hang with my niece and do light weight things.

As for the times we're having out here - yup - it's always a warming experience to hang wih dear family members - and to see the little ones as they grow up. Plus our kids pretty much "run amok" together - but in a nice way!

So... yup - I will post some nice pictures from our meet on Tuesday. And here is a little something I posted earlier that may bear reposting... as I'm fishing for a single party of 3 to join our Cartegenia tour - our I'll get a smaller vehicle.

tour-booth-complete.JPG

My group is doing tour #5. We might have a spot for a family of 3 too... as one party in my group apparently is not going. Our price is aproximately the same as the lowest posted price (or $1 or $2 less since my bus is slightly larger and full). Anyone interested in joining my tour (#5 with gold museum) - just PM me and the 1st party of 3 is in. No INNOCENCE required to tour with us.... :smokin:

Oh believe me I got the bright light out and interragated her on this one. The main thing was that I would be able to qualify for the flu shot that will be coming out this year. She said that this is the last month to take last years shot, so what the heck. With our luck:rolleyes1 if we didn't get them we would catch something.:rotfl2:

We just had our flu shots last month (work pays anyway) but I'm not sure if ours are 6 months ahead or 6 months behind the US - I figure it doesn't hurt anyway.

I've been getting them for the last few years and so far I haven't had the flu since getting the vaccine - sure I've had the odd cold but not one of those put you to bed for a week flu's.

Oh well..it will be here when I get back home. DH just said unless he sells it on Ebay..what a hubby!

Thanx!

I guess she thought my putzing around with my little 2 GB Sansas was due for a change... and I could stand for it too. I had hinted some time ago that I would not mind one these Zune 30GB players - but not the expensive Zune 80 or Apple 80GB players - as I have been known to be rough with my players - and I might feel glum about breaking or losing one of those snazzy and expensive players - alas, I could stomach an accident with a somewhat more modest Zune 30.

Oh you will love it. Got some really good accessories off the net.http://store.accstation.com/index.htmlTake it everywhere I think there will be a wait(drs office) and just watch some videos or try to keep up with the dis podcast.

I showed this to Alicia - and she had a good chuckle with a nice predatory shopping grin!

That's funny. I was thinking of Alicia when I was bargain shopping. :rotfl:
My DD said "Have you ever paid full price for anything?" Of course I have but try not to. ;)

Last week of August

Us too & if I remember Esteri was also on that trip. We actually enjoyed it altho' I hadn't researched any of the ports and didn't take my passporter. We also had a trip to the med centre in the middle of the night when youngest DD (14 months at the time) developed a middle ear infection. Hoping for an event free trip this time!

well only 8 weeks left to i start my vacation. will be heading to vegas first.
now its crunch time to lose weight. got to lose weight so i can gain a lot of weight on the cruise.

We have an Alana too!

How old is your ALANA? Is she accompanying you on the cruise? Our ALANA will think it very cool if another is also on-board.

BTW, how do you pronounce your ALANA's name? We pronounce it a-LAWN-a.

Oh my gosh! I was watching Good Morning America this morning and they were talking about what killed Tim Russert. Dr. Oz said that it was his belly fat. They said to take your waist measurement at your belly button. If your waist measurement is more than half your height, you are in danger.
I knew I was over but it surprised my DH was slightly over as well. He is not overweight. He is 6'2 and has already had a heart attack and open heart surgery (still, always been "thin").
Guess we have sojme work to do too.

We've been eyeing MP3 players since we got hooked on podcasts a few years ago. Right now, my laptop and DHs flash drive are our MP3 players. We use the laptop in the car and I use it around the house. DH takes his flash drive to work and uses it there.

Just a quick post and we are out the door! Hope everyone has a great Monday. just remember..2 months exactly from tomorrow and we will be getting on the ship!

I will check in tonight from Utah.

2 months and 1 day! :scared1: That means too late for either gastric bypass or liposuction. Hmm- guess diet and exercise will have to make whatever dent I can in 2 months.
Well- that is after lunch. We went to Macaroni Grill yesterday for Fathers Day and I have leftovers. I normally do not like that place but had Carmelita Rigatino (or something like that). YUM!!! Grilled chicken and carmalized onions over rigatoni in a creamy marsala sauce. That was very good!
