OK ... here are a few images from yesterdays' birthday party at one of the local Boston Zoos (there are several here). We had 80+ people in attendance for this 3 way Birthday Party ... and it was quite a crowd - but wonderfully pleasant too! I took 481 photos with many wonderfully charming images - but I don't have permission to post clear images of these children to the web - so I limited the shots to here to just a few basic ones with very few (if any) childrens faces exposed. However, this conveys a bit of what the day was like:

Great Pics - you bringing your camera Tuesday?

Any Pirates heading to WDW in the middle of July

Oh, I wish!!! Hope you get the chance to meet up with others.

You think the weather will be good enuf ta swim on Tuesday?

The weather forecast for tuesday shows T-storms and temps runing 74-59?

Ya gotta' plan "B" in mind?

The pool's heated baby:thumbsup2 . Seriously, unless it is pouring I'm sure the kids will want to swim. I have a three season porch so we can always move it inside if needed.

Edited to add: I just pulled up the forcast & they are saying showers in the am & then clearing so that should work out perfectly...if it's true!

And we all know, the weatherman are never wrong around here :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

BTW, bad news; the Gerbil Ball has a slow leak. Good News; I moved the air compressor downstairs for quick access if needed:cool2:

Sounds good... I had not looked at the hourly forecast for tuesday yet.

So - I got my driving route figured - I just have ta work on my "courage" now for hittin' your Boston streets with the wild drivers out here!

No worries, Crash. Just remember a few local rules and you will be just fine:

The yellow light is not, as commonly supposed outside the Boston
area, a signal to slow down. It is a warning to speed up and get
through the intersection before the light turns red.

Always look both ways when running a red light.

Turn signals are a sign of weakness.

Similarly, never attempt to give hand signals, Boston drivers, unused to such courtesies, will think you are waving them on to pass you.

When asking for directions, always ask the person to spell out the name of the street since you will not recognize it from their pronunciation.

If you miss your turn, never plan on circling the next block to get back. No
two blocks in Boston are parallel.

Learn to swerve abruptly. Boston is the home of slalom driving,
thanks to the Registry of Motor Vehicles, which puts potholes in key
locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them on their toes.

And last of all don't forget--the expression "You can't get there from here"
originated in Boston.

The rest you can learn along the way :lmao: :lmao:

Happy Father's Day to all Dads!

I ordered my wristbands on the pirate site, could someone please pm me to let me know you got the order? Thanks

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Thanks for your order.

How high would you say our chances of running into a hurricane or bad weather are?

Well with Tom31b's weather record........:rolleyes1

Nice day here. A bit overcast, but sunny. We went and saw the new Indy flick. It was OK.

A Cheryl, us Captain Dining pirates can party too!

DH and I were looking at lunch at Blue Bayou at 11:40 am on the 15th. (Yes i know it's a little early but they said our chances of getting seated by the rail are good and for me being an east coaster, my tummy will still be on eastern time.)

I tentatively reserved a table for 10 cause i was hoping maybe some other pirates would join us.

Update:All seats claimed for my reservation.

Others still welcome to dine around that time. However, you will need to contact Disney directly to see if any tables left.

I'm really happy for you.

Unfortunately, for me, the opposite was true.

I had a vacation scheduled in December and, for many reasons, the dates had to shift. I was able to get what I wanted at Disney, however, the change in ticket cost me an extra $173 -- $73 for the fare differential and $100 for a change in ticket. This is with American Airlines. They told me that was because I had purchased my ticket earlier than their cut off because now changes in tickets incur $150 plus differential. Oy ve!

:headache: Ouch!

I'm curious....how many people told you *Happy Father's Day* today ? ;)

How high would you say our chances of running into a hurricane or bad weather are?

What Tom (Captain Crash) said! Don't even mention the TS or H words unless they keep us on the boat longer!!

We IN!:yay: :yay: :yay:

That would be me jumping with joy. My DH decided to take the risk and on Friday booked the rooms for us. A big deal since in soon to be 20 years of marriage this is the first trip he has booked. I am the offical family travel agent.

The entire family is so excited and I have shifted into panic mode. - not really - but I usually start months out and I feel really behind. I am trying to read everything you guys have put out there. Which is an amazing and almost overwhelming amount. - what a great group.

We linked our dining this morning. If there are any other deadlines please PM me so I don't miss them.

:dance3: :dance3: Just one more happy dance before I post!:dance3: :dance3:

:welcome: My DW, June, and I are starting to hit panic mode too. I don't know what we would have done booking so late!

Awesome gifts....I was looking at both of those at Sam's club yesterday. Let me know how the book is. My favorite Buffett CD right now is the Live in Anguilla CD/DVD. Wish one of our ports had a Margaritaville.

Congratulations on both accounts! LOL!

It is an exciting/panic feeling, isn't it? :lmao:

Congrats on your DS's wedding! I am sorry it was outside and hot!

Cute!!! We made a Chocolate Fudge cake for dh!

:lmao: That is COLD! LOL! I hope y'all have a great day!!!

My niece is coming up from Florida for a wedding in Gloucester (right by the ocean) next weekend & she asked me what the weather forcast was. I told her it was suppose to be sunny with a high of 77 & she said, "Oh darn I bought a strapless dress to wear, maybe I better rethink that." Whatever! This is a girl who grew up in Massachusetts, but she's turned into a thin blooded Floridian! ;)

My kids will definitely swim, even if it's 50!

Nope NEVER!

A slow leaking gerbil ball is better than no gerbil ball! :cool1:

OMG no truer words were spoken! Here's a few more:

Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under the wheels of your car.

When in doubt, accelerate.

The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you see. Grab it.

Never put your faith in signs that purport to provide directions. They are put there to confuse people who don't know their way around the city.

Use extreme caution when pulling into breakdown lanes. Breakdown lanes are not for breaking down, but for speeding, especially during rush hour.

Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right.

In making a left turn from the right lane, employ the element of surprise. That is, do it as suddenly as possible, so as to stun other drivers.

Speed limits are arbitrary figures posted only to make you feel guilty.

Remember that the goal of every Boston driver is to get there first by whatever means necessary.

Above all, keep moving.

I didn't realize they had raised the ticket change fare as well.:scared1: I am so sorry. I was very shocked the price had dropped. I have never had that happen before. Glad you were able to change the dates, but sorry for the extra unexpected costs!:worried:

I am so excited! I happened to go online to our airlines webiste and our tickets had actually dropped $30 a ticket from Seattle to Orange County. I called the airline and they are giving me a $90 travel voucher to be used within one year! I love to save money!:cool1:

Does anyone know if they charge to park at the Grand Californian? It is the first time we have stayed there and I don't know. We are vacation club members, does that make any difference? Thanks for any information!

deal_or_no_deal.gif

Good DEAL!...

... on snapping up the $90 in savings! We fancy ourselves to be happy "efficient fishers" too! As for the GC parking... I can't say that I know about this. We've only stayed there once ... and that was soooo many moons ago I hardly remember what it was like. Wierd but true.

I know that they charge for parking, all the DLR hotels charge for parking, but I don't remember how much it was. I would venture a guess of somewhere between $10-15/day. It is pretty much the same as parking for the parks. I also don't know if DVC gives you any benefit. :confused3

The girls and I just wanted to wish all the Dad's a Very Happy Father's Day.
Especially Roger the Nutmeg Man, who had to work. We Love you!

I believe all the DL hotels charge a $10/day resort fee that includes parking, internet access, and fitness center access . . . at least that was true at the DLH when I was there 2 summers ago.

Where can I park my car?

Valet parking is available for $14/day. Self-parking is free, and the lot is located across Disneyland Drive. If you're checking in and wish to self-park, it's easiest to proceed to the resort's entrance, tell the attendants you are checking in and wish to self park, then go inside and check in. At check in you'll receive a parking pass, and at that point you can go out and move your car to the self-parking lot. It's about a 5-minute walk to the hotel entrance.

What is this "Resort Fee?"

The $11.00/day resort fee covers the daily newspaper delivery, local calls, self-parking, high speed internet access and use of the Fitness Center.

Jet blue raised theirs from $40 to $100....

Good thing i cancelled dd's ticket before May 5 and rebooked. Otherwise most of the fare we originally paid would have been eaten up in change fees.
