It's been quiet for the last 2 days or so... DD is working on school work at the moment..we have a field trip tomorrow and one final quiet weekend before all chaos breaks loose here...DH is going to San Diego for a conference and DD and I thought about going to Sea World but I can't decide..

I leave for vacation in about 2 1/2 weeks for 10 days and am trying to complete everything before I go. I just realized everything i ordered by mail should arrive while I am gone :scared1:

luckily..DH is staying put and will pick up the boxes that arrive.

going someplace fun on vacation?? I always wondered where people that live in wonderful vacation spot places go on vacation..:confused3

but can we ship liquids like water or wine or such ???

Nope. Also no food inc formula (powder or liquid).

From MousePlanet:
Shipping restrictions appear to mirror TSA/airline restrictions. So no foods, liquids or powders. I realize that most things you carry on will need to be carried off. But if you're travelling with young kids and want to pre-ship diapers or other disposables, it may be an option.

They accept UPS and USPS, but prefer UPS.

OMG me too.. i have been trying to be more midship.. since i booked opening morning.. I think that DCL wants to keep me and my very low rate in the less favorable cabin and let another higher priced persons/ more profitable get the better location..

The funny part on ours is that my mom is already midship and has a cabin number..we are just trying to move her up a deck (which isn't a price difference per DCL) but they insist that all of those cabins are GTY status...it's not the end of the world if we don't get her moved...we just would have liked her to be closer. I just thought if her Cat11 isn't a price difference on whatever deck there was (and I offered to pay the difference if there was one) .. why not move her and let her cabin be a GTY instead?

We always pack diapers so that we'll have room coming home for souvineers... I'm still trying to figure out what to do with her perscription liquid formula... Maybe we'll have it shipped to the hotel.

We go places because we have been to the wonderful vacation spots to many times! :rotfl2:

We are going to Yellowstone, Washington state to visit family...to Tillimook, Or. for the cheese factory..and then down thru CA back to home..

Every summer for the last 4 years my Mom, DD and I have taken a road trip. Last year we went to Michigan for my mom's class reunion, year before we went to Mt. Lassen here in Ca...and the first year..through the Colorado Rockies..we have a lot of fun!

I'm glad it's been slow -- easier for ketchup!!:)

::yes::

The warehouse says they won't accept liquids, food, etc., but UPS does allow you to ship alcohol. Technically you have to disclose there is alcohol in the package and it must be signed for, but I have heard that this has worked in the past.

I'm not sure if I want to ship anything. Heard too many stories on the last Eastbound PC cruise of stuff not getting to the ship.

Me too! Hopefully if they change, they'll granfather us that already have tickets in...

That's what I was hoping for, but it didn't happen :(

Ok, I've just got ONE thing to say about this picture ... yum.

Any Stephanie Plum fans out there that see The Rock every time she describes Ranger :confused3

Hmmm... I picture Ranger smaller but still beefy.

OMG!!!!!!! My in-laws and I have been talking for years about WHO should play each of the characters in those books.....since you are obviously familar....they've discussed Sandra Bullock for Steph Plum and that lady from Everybody Loves Raymond who plays the mom as Stephs grandmum......

Just remember.................the next book SHOULD BE OUT in about JULY so we will all have a new book to read either right before or on the cruise!:cool1:
Good ideas on the characters but, Good News! The new book comes out June 14th and not July!! At least that is what barnes & noble told me a couple of weeks ago! Bill's already put on notice to expect NOTHING from me that weekend. We are going to have to celebrate Fathers Day early. :rotfl:

I have a friend that said she pictured Ranger as Antonio Banderas :confused3 and she insisted that if she were Stephanie, she'd stick with Morelli ... I told her to re-read the book and think "The Rock". She said, amazingly, the book was much better the 2nd time and now understood the confusion :lmao:

How cute! It sounds like your parishioners really love you!

Oh yes . . . I would have to agree with that.

Except for the minority. And it's always those few voices that any of us hear from more than all the ones who like us.

But, I think that's the case in any job/profession. The whiners and complainers . . . seems everyone knows them.

Speaking of which, where's Tom? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :stir:

(I'm going to pay for that one, aren't I?)

I have a distant cousin that works at the Tillimook cheese factory. They brought us a block of cheese when we got married! :lmao:

Hi Everyone! This is my first post on this meet. We will be sailing with you all. We are a family of 4. My husband and myself and we have a boy(9) and a
girl(7). I have been lurking and have been encouraged to join the meet, so I am giving it a try. We have all our excursions booked and we are in a cat 6 gty. We have late dining but are wait listed for early. Is there any family out there who knows if you can share a table. On our past Disney cruise we were seated at a table for 4. I think it could be fun to sit with other people on such a long trip. Is there somewhere that the kids can meet (e-mail etc).
Thanks, hope to talk to you all!

Is anyone else having trouble working with their cruise plans on DCL? I am trying to cancel my spa treatments and it keeps giving me an error.

thanks!

Welcome Aboard. :welcome:

We have a LOT of info on the first post. Check it out and let us know if you have any questions. Some of the links will take you to another website that requires you create a log in. Easy, painless process.

We are linking dining with our larger group. There is info on the first page, we've got one person working on late and another working on early.

Aw, we had one of those summers and sounds so familiar- although not from a trampoline!
My DS was 5 when he fell off the monkey bars at the playground (wasn't supposed to be going across without me under him- but he went across a few times with me under him and then was supposed to be DONE, I turn to go over to the swings to push little almost 3yr old Rita at the time and soon as I turned my back he went across again, tired from having gone across it so many times already, and fell...)
He also broke it at the elbow and had to have pins put in and the full cast- and all our entire summer was ruined. NONE of us could do things like water parks (or even the above ground pool in the back- didn't even bother putting it up that summer), or six flags or anything- because if he couldn't... none of us could. (no babysitter/jeff working almost every day except some sundays)
that was such an UN-FUN summer let me tell you.....
(It happened right at the end of May- he has great timing too let me tell you..... NOT!)

I know I'm way behind, but I had to comment anyway. Our DS's arm breaks do sound similar. DS actually broke his arm on a neighbor's trampoline. He and another neighbor boy were jumping together and my DS was either pushed accidentally or jumping too close to the edge...not sure but he fell off the side and landed on his arm. The really bad thing about this was the neighbor whose house we were at happened to be an ER doctor. Yet, he had no net around the trampoline AND he had the trampoline pushed up against a wrought iron fence (think spikes! :scared1: ) on the one side. Fortunately, that is not the side DS fell off of. I still shudder to think about what might have happened had he fallen off where the fence was. :scared1: DH and I were really surprised that, being an ER doc, he would have such an unsafe condition in his own backyard!

And, yes, since this happened on Mother's Day weekend, DS was also pretty much banned from the water for most of the summer. As a matter of fact, he was supposed to start swimming lessons just a couple weeks after he broke his arm. :sad2:

Couldn't get in at all yesterday. At least I can get in it today. But I'm not trying to change or add anything, just looking at what's available. That's all working fine though.

Thanks! I know I have time to cancel it..just thought I would give it up now so someone can grab it if they want it. Decided to do the rainforest instead..somewhere to hide out and escape!

THANK GOODNESS! People like me wait; no are desperate for; more Janet Evanovich! There is nothing greater than reading her new book. I knew last year we went to DW the last two weeks of June and I had both a new Janet and a new james patterson to read so I WAS SET!
