Hi Everyone! This is my first post on this meet. We will be sailing with you all. We are a family of 4. My husband and myself and we have a boy(9) and a
girl(7). I have been lurking and have been encouraged to join the meet, so I am giving it a try. We have all our excursions booked and we are in a cat 6 gty. We have late dining but are wait listed for early. Is there any family out there who knows if you can share a table. On our past Disney cruise we were seated at a table for 4. I think it could be fun to sit with other people on such a long trip. Is there somewhere that the kids can meet (e-mail etc).
Thanks, hope to talk to you all!

Well I'm glad you joined in....I'm "new" also. My DH has been online for like 14 months but I just got involved about 3 weeks ago. We have a DD9 and a DD7 so if you don't go back and read the previous posts you'll find I'm stalking those with DD7s so my little bunchkin will have friends!!:cool1: WELCOME WELCOME.

Attention everyone -

I feel like carp today -guess its my punishment for making fun of DH getting sick on the last day of the cruise. Anyway, I am being forced to take a day of rest ( :rotfl2: ) as my throat is really raw but we shall see how that goes. After this post, I'm on my way to my mommy's house to see if she has any magic potion to calm this sandpaper throat of mine. Doc told DH that there is a very bad intestinal flue going around. Guess its better off the ship than on.

Anyway, here's the info:

PARENTS, IF YOU HAVE KIDS THAT WANT TO JOIN THE SM - PLEASE YOU - THE ADULT SEND ME A MESSAGE NOTING THIS. I JUST WANT TO BE SURE THAT YOU THE ADULTS HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS BEFORE ASSIGNING A SM TO YOUR CHILD OR YOUR CHILD TO A SM.

I have assigned just a few for the early birds but I will be cutting the deadline date by mid-June I believe. I will be working on this the next week and you'll be receiving your SM in batches. Thank you all for understanding. I have not forgotten - I wanted to see how the WB handled their SM and try to learn from their mistakes.

END OF SM INFO.

In a bit or later this evening - I will post some pictures of what Fish Gifts we got jsut in case any of you are stumped. But I will mention this - for the larger gifts, they got together in groups and donated a nice gift that way. My fish gift group gave out dry erase boards with marker - my infamous pen that was lifted on the last day. However, if you all decide to do this - keep in mind about cut-off dates.

Julie - you got my info right? ;)

Talk to you all later - going in hunt of throat lozenges. Or was that tea and honey? :scratchin MOM!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome onboard :flower3:

Call Disney, or have your TA do it if you are booked through one, and ask them to put a request on your reservation that you prefer a large table.

They got them, guaranteed! On the EB, the graphic was of the Magic at Gibraltar, on the WB, the Magic at Tenerife.

A little FYI - one litho of the EB Transatlantic went for $2000. How'd I know? Cause I bid on that one - and no - I did not win it - I let the other guy have it - figured I'd get my candy elsewehere! ::yes::

It was framed but for that price - I like my eye-candy much better.

Speaking of "a place kids can meet" i was wondering myself which thread young kids could join.......my DD9 (9 1/2 acutally) could really enjoy typing some simple/fun messages but not sure which thread is appropriate for the young ones vs. the teens......anyone who knows pass it on....I'd be grateful!

Welcome aboard neighbor :cool1: As Monica said links to everything that is important is on the 1st page.

OMG me too.. i have been trying to be more midship.. since i booked opening morning.. I think that DCL wants to keep me and my very low rate in the less favorable cabin and let another higher priced persons/ more profitable get the better location..

Trying to discern the workings of the wizards in revenue management is as challenging as interpreting the mystic ramblings of the Oracle of Delphi.

Do they assign cabins based on the inscrutable working of super-computers, endlessly pondering the image of Mickey swimming?

Do they use the same Bingo callers who later appear on the ship holding the hope of thousands of dollars, which ultimately ends up in the hands of some stranger, the subject if whispered tails for the remainder of the cruise?

Or do they listen to the blessings of the employees from the fairy-godmother department, bestowing upgrades on the worthy and deserving?

We supplicants must resign ourselves to living with the mystery, waiting until the day that they will touch our reservation, remove our GTY status, and grant us a "home" on the ship.... :worship:

Is it vacation yet?
My boss of 19 years announced his retirement on Tuesday... effective June 30th. :sad1:

I'm in full on find a new job mode...
I've never worked in one place, let alone with one boss for that long.
Maybe if they think you're leaving management will offer you some incentive to stay (promotion/raise):confused3

I just want to share this one with you all right now. It comes with a story.

Whenever I am going on vacation (to Disney, of course! :) ), I always tell the people that I am going to go away for a week of therapy to the Orlando Clinic with Dr. Mickey and Nurse. Well, look what one of the parishioners made for me:

Adorable:cutie: :thumbsup2

Yes, easier for ketchup, but for the first time in a week, I have time to play on the DIS, and no one's talking :faint:
Murphy's Law:lmao:

Hi travelnfam:yay:
WELCOME ABOARD:banana:
So glad you got up the courage to post:goodvibes
You can sign up for linking dining and for kids email on the pirate website.
Pretty sure someone will post the link before I do;)

Our kids look to be about the same ages. I was just cheking out the kids thread, it seems to be mostly teens. My son would love to type some messages to "friends". It gives them something to do to prepare for the cruise.

while my DD9 is his age, she is a girl (yuck...a girl is hopefully what they they think at that age!), but I know many of the pirates on this thread have kids our kids age so keep an eye out and hopefully they will let you know who has boys that age. I DOOOOO hope they let us know if there is a place for younger kids to post....I'd probably not let my DD post on a teen thread, but a thread with 9-11 year olds would be great!

I thought I heard gargling with salt water was suppose to help a sore throat:confused3

Oh yes . . . I would have to agree with that.

Except for the minority. And it's always those few voices that any of us hear from more than all the ones who like us.

But, I think that's the case in any job/profession. The whiners and complainers . . . seems everyone knows them.

Speaking of which, where's Tom? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :stir:

(I'm going to pay for that one, aren't I?)

I'm in Kentucky...

:welcome:

We're also in late dining which we prefer so we don't have to "rush" to dinner each night. As Monica said, you can link dining to others. I'd encourage you to explore the dining links and everything else at the pirate zone.

We could start a thread for the younger group. I would like to see one with the 8-12 or 9-12 group or under 12..something like that.

I've also heard diluted apple cider vinegar works well. My DH swears by it.

I just checked with DCL on the passport issue again. The agent I spoke to said they are required for Columbia, but when she tried to verify it with her info online, she couldn't find anything about passports for the EB PC. Maybe this is why we're getting the old "they are not required but strongly suggested" line.

Also, they just got notification that all aboard is going to be 3pm, the safety drill will be at 3:30 pm and sail away is at 4pm.

Welcome! I see that everyone has already pointed you in the direction of relevant info, so I will just encourage you to join in and have fun with the totally irrelevant things we carry on about on this thread!;)

Laura, I got your info and sent you a PM back . . . hope you feel better soon.

I liked the EB transatlantic litho (Gibraltar) better than ours last year . . . I'm not surprised in some ways that one went for $2000 at the auction.

I've also heard diluted apple cider vinegar works well. My DH swears by it.

My MIL also drinks (yep no spitting) apple cider vinegar every day to help keep her from getting sick. She also does a bunch of other stuff, but seems to be sick all the time hehehe.

DH and I use Listerine strips and gargle Listerine if we feel so much as a tickle in our throat.

Might be that the passport is required to get off the ship in Columbia? Might be that they actually haven't figured it out yet?

Welcome! Don't let this crazy thread intimidate you:thumbsup2 It is pretty much impossible to always keep up - just read what you can and post when you can.

If you decide to link dining with this group, they can try to get you changed to early. I think they will also try to get you seated with another family if that is what you would like. I've never been with this large a group before, but I suspect that with so MANY tables of DISers that we are all going to be visiting with the tables all around us as well as those we are seated with!:rotfl2:

Our kids look to be about the same ages. I was just cheking out the kids thread, it seems to be mostly teens. My son would love to type some messages to "friends". It gives them something to do to prepare for the cruise.

I have a DS9 who is (sort of) emailing with a few other kids. I think all the kids have been pretty busy the last couple months (including mine) so there haven't been many letters, but I am hoping with the end of the school year that there will be more time and they can do a little more. I suggested to my son that he doesn't have to write a separate note to each child - the "To" field on that email can have more than one address ::yes:: If you think that your son would like to email, please send a PM and we can exchange email addresses (I have his email setup that he can only receive from email addresses that I OK)
