I would like to echo this.... I am often credited with things like the website, etc., but I am just the "face" there are many others behind the scenes, who do the technical stuff. And the boards are great because all of you are cutting/pasting/posting on them.

Julie, I'm putting together a spread sheet of cruisers. I started with the pirates on the pirate zone. I'm also going to get names from that other sub-thread on pirate zone. I think it's called Pirates Introduce Thyself. Once it's done I'm going to email it to Crash. I know that there are more pirates receiving the news letter than have identified themselves on any of the boards. I guess we'll have to figure out what to do after we see how many names I collect. This is all new to me. I guess I'm struggling with alienation vs intrusiveness.

I wonder if anyone has a list like that already.....

Not that I could find . . . I think with all the worry early on about security issues, we never had a "roll call" like other threads do . . . generally you have a list of cruisers and their cabins on page 1, updated as more join in, and then later someone starts a FE list. But we never really had the roll call. You can see an example of what it is usually like at the thread for the 5 night cruise many of us are doing right after this one here:

Fish Extenders are getting confused with Secret Mickey. They are 2 separate actvities.

FE - when you sign up, you are commiting to at least 1 item per cabin/family. If you choose to do more, or add special items for kids, etc, that is up to you.

SM - you will be assigned 1 person, you will drop little gifts off for that person throughout the cruise. I believe there is a minimum of $25 spent (not exactly sure on the amount of this one).

Generally speaking, yes, when you sign up for FE you plan to put a little something -- can be very little! -- in each FE at least once . . . however, because a few people were worried about how many would participate and made noises about breaking up the list (which, to me, is sort of not in the spirit of the FE) I said that you only agreed to have an FE up. However, the basic idea, of course, is that you leave something at some point, and in return, find lots of fun surprises throughout the cruise! A few, however, may just give to their floor or something but we are not the FE police and will not be keeping track!



Maybe a little less . . . the PMs are slowing down quite a bit and I plan to make the list (if not the cabin numbers!!!!) more or less "final" by the beginning of June so that everyone knows how many to plan for . . .

Ok Thanks....I know we talked about a few different ways of doing it. ITA - it's not about keeping track - The post just confused me as to how *I* understood it was going to be.

I am going to *try* to be a bit more organized before the cruise and arrange the FE Gifts so that I am not walking up & down the same deck a bazillion different times - . I got more excercise doing that than the DECK 4 AM walks

I personally do not think there is anyting wrong w/ this. did anyone ever take on the ship model and the rooms listed task? Nope not volunteering- I have no idea how to do that.

Happy Friday One down, 2 to go ... New Year's Resolutions that is This year I resolved to 1) sell our house 2) find us a new home 3) get a new/better job

I am happy to report that I have been scarce around here this week because after a little bit of back-and-forth, DH and I accepted an offer on our house yesterday Only one teeny tiny issue ... the buyers want closing on August 29th Already told the Realtor, "that AIN'T happening"

Now I'll be spending my long weekend house hunting and resume mailing

I think this is a good idea especially for the FE and anyone that is going to do any specific gifts for a room. It would be good to know if that particular room has kids, if they are boys or girls and their age.

If people don't want to put actual names maybe something like
room number, 2 adults, kids DD9 DS11

......., i do,..in one of my many faults...tendency toward lecturing...

not that anyone here, needs it...crash~included, ...but if you

knew..what ..we experience..@ work...would help increase tolerance...
for..my por habit. . our work..is ,,by human nature..quite easy,
* if..one has the insights...for basic human pain & suffering..& (believe
it or crash?)....physiologly.

..the 2 major categorys....resulting in emotional pain, needing human
support...beyond...the avg. resources available? ..losses, be it via
breakups, funds-jobs, & esp death....& then there's the severe withdraws
..from lonliness.., psst, why,,,i try..to passed on to my children..
their most important goal..in life...is finding someone special ..to share
life with.

however, while....my job..is quite easy.... , those lacking
the basics...can result in..tragic losses..beyond....beliefs. case in point,
...reently...in texas...they opened..a mental health facilty..that closed
in one..week. [ they had 4 suicides ..in one week ]. just because,
common sense/s..are self evdient..more often then not...they are
ignored...til..death can occurred.

hollywood, tv-movies have diffulties..with reality. , however, there
are some classics..heading the mark..though , not by desigens.

terminator2 @...where she "in"..the physch ward...[ now there's a "good"
role...for dr. philly---where he can't do any harm-fantasy land]. ok?
...like all hospitals..there's only one door. not 20. , my co-workers...
are petite women, * but as strong...in mind...then..those "bodybuilders"
they went out and..gave...all white tees....nor do we carry billyclubs,
2 feet long, ..setting limits..& redirecting...let's say..we have
much refiner interventions...that are much effective.

" taking care of people's lives..isn't a game"..for real! & hollyhood...
isn't a support system...for any of us.

..movies..that are exceptional...examples...that do ....reflect..our human
needs..* one of my favorites..." good as it get", ...then there's
the "boys-n-the hood", .

...really!...a reflection....how weak..our society..neglecting..its duty..
to its citizens..., . * note, the only support the interacting
kids..got..were messages..of harassments/ worst-devalued...
me..no wonder..the "kids"..grew up....feeling..the other..were objects
of vile..nussiances..& no loss...if removed. [ i don't kno ..if they added
the hilocopters..flying over head...to illustrate..or just how the writer
remember it...but either..way, very significant..,& right on the point.
ok~~society?!...explained...the responsibility..for kids..getting
guns?! ..

which..is a direct reflection of our schools..not meeting our children
development needs ..not even close. , [ and why..i feel soo
bad..for lisa's fight. @ least...she recognizes..& cares..for the plight .]

..my younger..brother..is an award winner..school teacher...using
family values..to motivate those..that society...likes..to forget...
..[ he also was in the miltary..training..all the shuttles crew.....yes,
even the one..that lost..the school teacher, ....maybe, just
maybe,,there are values..from the dick & jane...readers...that are
timeless? what do we want..for children..& their happpiness?

so..sorry..steph5...i didn't pick...up..the ...hostile intentions...hiding
behind..the manipulation.....i read.., some....&i knew..by the strong
reactions..there were cross references..my, that's attention seeking
in all the wrong ways. however, i see..you 're strong....in recognizing
the dangers. you think?...on our cruise...?

i really..don't go on vacation...& havin to "work"...i have 2 things on

I've signed closing docs in remote locations at least twice. I bet we have a notary in our crew - you could close on the house from Deck 10.

I just wanted to share with everyone how completely cool, and astonishing, and gratifying this community is. There's no one "in charge",
yet everyone contributes what they can and no one feels compelled to do more than they are able. (At least I hope not.) We are each doing what we do best, and relying on others, with different strengths, to cover the rest.

Step back and look at what we've accomplished... website, topical forums, group clothing, group cruise navigators, activity books for the kids, special little surprises for each other, shared artwork, large and small group dining, loads of information on each port, shared excursions and experiences, more onboard activities than any one person could attend, and the list goes on, and on.

This is a huge undertaking and accomplishement for a group this size, and yet it has come together naturally. Growing and changing depending on the people involved.

We are such a testament to what a group of people can accomplish when they come together in a spirit of mutual understanding, support, tolerance, and yes humor plays a role. Yes, we've had our squabbles, but we've worked through them - gaining understanding and enriching ourselves through the experience.

I am so completely grateful to be a part of this community. And to have this experience with all of you.

Well, on the 11 night Med cruise I was on last year, which was incredibly well organized and everyone was a joy to be around, it was an ongoing thing, and as people got their cabin numbers it was updated (similar to what I am doing with the FE list) . . .

It was such a drama last time it came up that I've been afraid to ask about a publishing the list in the Pirate Navigator.

Well, every cruise I have ever been on, there has been a listing like that, but I HATE drama too, so whatever we do, let's keep the peace!

Barcelona has problems now, no drinking water, they are shipping it in.

This was posted on the Disneyland main thread -- it's an article by a guy who was one of the Captain Jack characters at DL . . . very interesting and I would be curious to hear from Todd how similar some of it is to what he experiences when he is in costume!

Very similar in alot of ways especially with the propositions , but of course I just smile and say they would probably chain me to a post and leave me for the Kracken, Pirates !! lol Halloween at the clubs here in Vegas was worse..and this is a disney board so you will have to ask about those when were on the ship ...LOL
