Well, for non-barking dogs I would tell you to get a husky but they require A LOT of exercise and sometimes the howling gets a bit loud. But once I spayed her - she was ok with it. I've been lucky in that our 2 dogs don't bark but the down side - they are NOT watch dogs. But they do look scary.
Also, if you don't have a good vacuum (boy that looks funny????) don't get one - one of mine is 41 lbs - and that with gaining weight from being spayed and the other one is 58 lbs. Both inside dogs more than outside but actually very good dogs. They got out once - due to DH not locking the back gate but they didn't make it far before someone in the neighborhood recognized them as neighborhood dogs. Got them back only about 45 mintues after they left. Good thing was that I have them microchipped. So whatever dog you get - make sure you have them micro-chipped.
One of our neighbors has a husky. I love how they look too

How much is a lot of exercise

Luckily my DS doesn't mind vacuuming (Now that does look funny
