As I've said before, I am more than happy to buy my own Champagne!!!! At any rate, we are on Traitor's seating this time . . . so I won't even be able to admire your antics from across the room . . .
I'm glad you liked my picture -- I thought I was extra attractive in that one . . :goodvibes
Your always attractive, therefore you can't be 'exta'!:lovestruc
But that was Sallies and Jimmy's trick, they were on late and didn't want to be on it, so they linked up to mine, and got main!

There isn't any 'back story' to wanting to be on our own table this time, we had a 'family' discussion' and voted to be on our own, unless DCL, decide different. We have a request in for table and rotation for this and the 2009 Eastern Cruise.

At dinner, there is loads of things we wanted to do and have our own agenda, sometimes its a bit rude, to leave early, for example, and the kids sometimes felt a bit embarrassed, ordering things.

I paid off a lot of the 2009 Cruise this week, the day before the UK, reduced interest rates and our exchange rate started to slide down.

I think we have peaked for the time on £/$, but its hard to tell.

IF my DD manages to finally get ready, we MIGHT still find something worth buying at Penney's....... :sad2:

Hey all. Hope all are well.

Meanwhile, I'm doing my best to help the economy and run up our car insurance premium. I hit a Yellow Labrador with our car. I couldn't avoid him and felt horrible. I tried to locate his owner with no luck and a sheriff's car drove by, but couldn't assist because he had a prisoner. Caused $1,800 in damage to the front spoiler/bumper. It gets worse, I got the car repaired and had it back for one week, then hit a shredded truck tire (4 feet by 10 inches according to the police report) that got thrown in my lane by a truck. I busted up the spoiler/bumper again for another $1,800 in damage. I had a $250/deductible on the first one because it was "comprehensive" for being an animal, but the second one was $500 because it's "collision" coverage. My claims agent thinks I'm an idiot (probably true) and DW is ready restrict me to the mini-van.

Oh...look at that...a CBJ goal...1-1:cool1:
Be careful!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
Glad you weren't hurt.

It is beautiful, I hope to see that for myself this December, but it may end up waiting until 09. Have to see how far I can stretch those vacation $$.

Good morning all. Finally had time to ketchup and find we are on a new thread and already into page 5. Life sure gets in the way of my computer time. :lmao: I told my Mom if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. In a matter of a week someone hit my car, our garage door broke and we had a leak in our ceiling. Fortunately everything was minor, but such an annoyance to have to deal with. And last week while my front desk person was on vacation a boatload of reports had to be completed, so I actually had to do some work. :rotfl2: Some good news, according to our local groundhog spring it on its way.:worship:

Great job with the first post and all the links Tom. But where's the poll?:confused3 :lmao: :lmao:

Terri, hopefully your dealings with murphy are over for a bit:goodvibes

Someone's off handed comment in chat last night (I think it was Peter) got me thinking...

You know how there is always a clump of people waiting to get into the dining room & a big line forms outside the door before they let us in? Well, how cool would it be on pirate night if we all just started singing as we file in...very slowly and quietly at first...

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the colors high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never say we die.

How freaked out do you think the 12 non-Disers in our dining room would be??? I so want to do this!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I didn't realize that was how you had linked dining with them . . . believe me, you don't have to apologize for wanting a table of your own, I always ask for that.

Congrats on the payoff! I paid off all my cruises this year in January with my weak little dollars, but with no advantage like you had . . .

And thanks for the compliment . . .

That's not a bad idea:thumbsup2

How does the Fish Extender thing work:confused3
The number of DIS people on this cruise is making me think twice about signing up:confused3
(How long would it take to distribute something to everyone:eek: let along the luggage space needed to transport stuff:headache: )

I thought someone said something about breaking it up into smaller groups:confused3
That would make it much easier:confused3

Probably answered already, but.......

Not everyone who is part of our group actually participates in the fish extenders. We'll have a sign up closer to sail time. Those who want to play (not required at all) bring a small little gift for each fish extender (FE). Doesn't have to be per person in the cabin, just per FE. People have gotten very creative, especially on the repos where we are already dealing with luggage restrictions.

On the Med repo some of the stuff I recieved were:
Personalized post its with our Med logo
Map of our cruise magnet
Candy (lots of regional candies - i.e. Cadbury chocolate from England, Jelly Belly's from CA)
Stickers
Postcards from folks hometown
Mini beach balls
Temporary Tattoos
Bookmarks
Disney pencils
Emergency cruise travel kit (included clothespins, bandaids, rubber bands - the kind of stuff you end up needing but forgot to bring)

IF I could sing, I'd love it. I could lip sync though while the rest of you sing. :rolleyes1

Yes 09 is chopped down to a manageable $3k now, from $7k -something, so protected against any fluctuations in exchange rate, I have other priorities now to sort out.
We will see lots of Dissers out and about, but this is our family holiday as well.

No John was not smart enough to do this!!!!

Subject: MARRIAGE SEMINAR
At Saint Mary's Catholic Church they have a weekly husband's marriage
seminar. At the session last week, the Priest asked Luigi, who was
approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes and share
some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman
all these years.

Luigi replied to the assembled husbands, 'Well, I've a-tried to treat-a
her nice, spend the money on her, but best is that I took-a her to Italy
for the 20th anniversary!'
The Priest responded, 'Luigi, you are an amazing inspiration to all the
husbands here! Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for
your 50th an niversary.'
Luigi proudly replied, 'I'm a-gonna go and get her.'

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We went on the 10 night and had about 75 families(which was well over 275 people). Sometimes I would give a gift to the family as a group. It all depends on what you are giving. Most people only gave out their fishy gifts once but seems like everyone did different days so there was always something in there. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Just a thought on FE gifts---I have been ordering some and didn't pay attention to how big they were, so now I try to look at the sizes--I still messed up the other day when a package came---what in the world was I thinking:confused3 :confused3 :lmao:

All the wenches are encouraged to stare at the Monkey paw ...I wouldnt be a true Jack if I didnt make the offer ...LOL

Actually i think it would be really neat if we had characters and then everyone else dressed in old garb like the people at the beginning of POTC3.

That would be great......

And my son wants to dress as the royal navy so we'll have at least 1 person trying to herd us toward the noose.

I always break my vacations into smaller chunks makes them much easier on the pocketbook:goodvibes

I just read through 35 pages in about an hour, so it was more like skimming but I think I did okay. I was at the 25-page mark when I realized that there was another thread I had to go through.

I am very happy to hear that there is a Pirate thread for all of our DD's and DS's. I will show my DD when she comes in from the snow. It may be a challenge getting my DS involved, but maybe he will surprise me??

Congrats Debbie on your promotion and more importantly your pay increase!

I am always envious when I hear about all of the sales in the US. I want to save over $800.

There has been a lot of excitement on my street this week (not in a good way). I am not sure if this has received a lot of attention south of the boarder, but "DR HORROR" is/was my neighbour. Actually his house is right across the street from mine. His family moved in last April. We have had a media frenzy here for the past week. I am so happy that they finally caught him. He was the ringleader responsible for forcibly removing kidneys from at least 500 people. He would then transplant them in wealthy foreign patients. Most of this was done in India, but it sounds like he was starting to get patients here. I only spoke with him once. I went over to introduce myself, but he was not very friendly. Thankfully the rest of my neighbours are very nice!
