It's a girl!
:cutie: :lovestruc :cutie:

Lauren Gabrielle
8lbs 5oz
19-3/4"
I'll have to work on resizing these later....someone needs a bottle.

Congrats to both of you on the arrival of your future rocket scientist.
Hope your wife got you that bottle of rum...

Oh, you meant the baby. Skip the rum then, it just makes them more irritable.

Are the boards moving slow for anyone else? Not slow like before, but slower than we've seen recently.

Could just be my connection though. Completely lost the internet yesterday, right in the middle of the work day. Came back after a few hours. But I'm thinking maybe they are still having trouble.

Sorry, I accidentally disconnected the Internet at work Friday.

(This is an inside joke in our department. In our main conference room, there is a small router that can be used by vendors to hook up their computers during meetings since they can't use our wireless network. One of the admins posted a note on the router: "Do NOT UNPLUG this. It will disconnect the INTERNET". We always joke around and unplug it and then go ask people if the Internet is down. Geek humor.)

There has been a lot of excitement on my street this week (not in a good way). I am not sure if this has received a lot of attention south of the boarder, but "DR HORROR" is/was my neighbour. Actually his house is right across the street from mine. His family moved in last April. We have had a media frenzy here for the past week. I am so happy that they finally caught him. He was the ringleader responsible for forcibly removing kidneys from at least 500 people. He would then transplant them in wealthy foreign patients. Most of this was done in India, but it sounds like he was starting to get patients here. I only spoke with him once. I went over to introduce myself, but he was not very friendly. Thankfully the rest of my neighbours are very nice!

Team him up with the (alleged) wife-killing cop in my subdivision and we're all set for a made-for-TV movie.

Seriously, that's pretty scary. But there are some days when I wonder what the going rate on a kidney would be. My wife doesn't save me as much money as Cheryl so I might need to consider this soon.

Hey all. Hope all are well.

A scarlett and gray birdie mentioned there was a new thread while trading Skybus ticket tips, but now a third:scared1:

I thought I'd check in while watching the Columbus Blue Jackets try to solve goalie Nabokov of the San Jose Sharks. Jackets have put up over 25 shots versus allowing 9 shots by the Sharks, yet are losing 1-0. It reminds me of a scene of one of my favorite movies, Christmas Vacation when Chevy Chase calls his family outside for the lighting of the house and nothing happens:

MIL "See kids, I hope you realize what a tremendous waste of resources this was."

DD "He worked real hard grandma."

FIL "So do washing machines."

Hopefully, we'll see some results.

I don't know how my DW's keeping up, she's teaching adjunct for 3 colleges right now and trying to knock of her PhD dissertation and keep up with mom duties. She had a setback when her computer hard drive crashed and lost her research. We had to send it away to a facility in Milwaukee for a nice $750 recovery fee. She may just go into hiding on the TOAL.

Meanwhile, I'm doing my best to help the economy and run up our car insurance premium. I hit a Yellow Labrador with our car. I couldn't avoid him and felt horrible. I tried to locate his owner with no luck and a sheriff's car drove by, but couldn't assist because he had a prisoner. Caused $1,800 in damage to the front spoiler/bumper. It gets worse, I got the car repaired and had it back for one week, then hit a shredded truck tire (4 feet by 10 inches according to the police report) that got thrown in my lane by a truck. I busted up the spoiler/bumper again for another $1,800 in damage. I had a $250/deductible on the first one because it was "comprehensive" for being an animal, but the second one was $500 because it's "collision" coverage. My claims agent thinks I'm an idiot (probably true) and DW is ready restrict me to the mini-van.

Oh...look at that...a CBJ goal...1-1:cool1:

You know, this is why I like posting here even though I am no longer cruising with you. No matter how bad my day/week/month/year has been, there's always someone who's had it worse. Misery loves company.

Try driving backwards next time -- at least you'll dent a different part of the car?

Cheryl;

You're a shopping MONSTER! Good thing Alicia doesn't frequent the thread or she'd be getting so many shopping tips from you an' everyone else that the kids and I truly would NEVER see her at home anymore!

As for the funy shoes with the MASI tribesman walking design - I think they're called MBT or MTB .... excuse me while I google it ....

MBT-new.gif

Oh yeah... here it is. AND NO, I don't think I've EVER seen her wear those things once ... and I believe she went and bought a 2nd pair already too. Or so it seems. Shebuys stuff and sort of hides it in the house sometimes - well, all the time - and I think I saw a 2nd shoe box somewhere. Chuckles..... and the funny thing is she does this but I really don't care if she buys a 2nd pair of this or anything and never uses it. :confused3

At any rate, no... I don't think shes' used them - but now that you mention it I might ask her about it today and lets see if she uses them at Disneyland today - and if she doesI'll get you a up to the minute report on 'em OK Cheryl?

Let me know as well.We may be seeking out a store to try them on. For some reason DH is intrigued with them

You'll just have to come down to check it all out for yourself. It's a little hard to believe when you see it. They call this place the Pleasure Island for the 55+ group.

Barbara

We were thinking of driving up for a look see. I'll let you know if we do.

As many of you know, my dream WDW job is Tinkerbell. I want to fly to Tomorrowland during Wishes every night in a light-up costume! (2nd choice is the spinny bird lady in Festival of the Lion King)

I was crushed a few years ago when I found out that the height requirement was 5'1" - I'm 5'2".

Anyway - you folks on the 1pm PV zip line are in for a treat. Just wait until I show up in a glowing ferry outfit! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Seriously, I am definately getting a Tink tank top for the occasion and DH is threatening to buy me the wings they sell for the little girl costume. :rotfl:

Hmmm, now where did I put my wand....

One of the Soccer Moms on the DGD team was Tink!!!

Shannon,

For what its woth, I will werar my tux if I lose enough weight to actually fit in it again. Otherwise its a dark suit.

Kids, 9&11 at time of. Cruise, growing like weeds. Will NOT get tuxes for them. Will probably just do blue. Blazers for them.

But I'm probably in the minority (and just too cheap to buy wear it once suits or tuxes).

No, we are still going around with this one. Still haven't made a decision yet either.

Bit chilly here today. 50 at the moment.Have a good day everyone.

Aren't empires usually pretty large? I'd hate to see anyone wearing the "Roman empire" waist...

You're in luck, J.R. Omar the Tentmaker specializes in Ottoman Empire waisted garments.

One of the Soccer Moms on the DGD team was Tink!!!

Oh how cool! I so want to do that!

DH was helpful enough to point out that I should start shrinking any day now, so I'll eventually be 5'1".

I think it was 7 rooms. I wonder if we can get everyone's attention and find out for sure??

Hello? Calling all Doubletree pre-cruisers!!

We need a head count!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
That might get their attention.......;)

You have me down for 2 rooms, right?

I would consider whatever is easier to get to the port. I have the Marriott at Lax booked and DCL transfers. I am coming in on Saturday morning. Have you figured out how to get to Doubletree from LAX??? I would be willing to switch.:rolleyes1

Oh come on, we gotta be a big enough incentive to move on over. :lmao:
We are taking Super Shuttle from LAX to San Pedro. We get in at 2:50.
We could get to the port earlier and have dinner with us. They have a free shuttle to the port.

After reading all the problems on the WB thread, I'm glad that at least for two of the ports we have things booked!

I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday when I read about all the problems.

I do not know how people get used to typing on laptops. I am a bad typist to begin with and this tiny keyboard is awful. I do not bother to drag my USB keyboard in if I am only going to be in the office for 1 day. If I am this bad on LP I am never going to try to postfrom my IPhone. :)
I had to come in the office for a meeting and to pick up my loot and booty I won on Friday. I was going to trade in the camera I won for another one but don't you know the one I wanted after much research is already being discontinued. :sad2:

Happy Monday!
Coral

QUICK QUICK - a tink-sized bottle of Patron Silver for the first one to get me a picture of M in this - ON THE ZIP! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Don't forget the camera. I'm SERIOUSLY considering taking a small printer so that I can print pictures to post all over the ship of this! :rotfl: ;)

Yeah, and for those who don't know Laura already, SHE WOULD DO THAT!!!!:lmao:

As a Lenten activity, I had several of my 7th grade PSR students over last night to watch Passion of the Christ, and then we had a group discussion for a couple of hours. It was a "heavy" evening to say the least.

So....I'm looking for some light-hearted entertainment this morning. Can you all turn up the jokes and sarcasm a notch for me? :goodvibes

My kids really like ordering from the adult menu on the cruise.

hmm It's the opposite at my table. I have the waiters bring me a kid menu too every night as i would rather have some of the stuff from there.

I am weird :upsidedow that way and usually will ask for a couple substitutions on an adult meal.

I love Mickey shaped pasta lightly buttered and cheese sticks and sometimes would just rather have the fruit cocktail.

NO PEANUTBUTTER CUPS????

Oh the humanity.... :sad1: Need someone to mail you some Paula.

Do you know why the University of Michigan football team should change its name to the "Opossums"?

Because they play dead at home and get killed on the road.

No opossums or wolverines were harmed during the creation of this post.

Just what I needed....now I have to email that one to everyone in my address book!

Thanks!

I loved the waitstaff we had on our cruise! My DS10 can be a picky eater and they were determined to find him something he liked. Finally settled on the broiled chicken, which they had prepared even when it wasn't on the menu.

Of course, there are a few in this group that are tight with some of the cruise directors and a few who are pretty good at computer skills... so we can either hack in or get the CD to post the pics on all the monitors on the ship (and jumbo tron between movies?)
