Acapulco Walking Tour to Fort​

I have posted a topic on the Pirate Zone Form. Pdarrah and Micmse familes will be walking to the fort in Acapulco, If anyone is interested please leave message on board. We will be leave at 9:00 am.and meet in the Atrium of the ship. Hope we will have lots of DISers going with for a nice little walk.

You cannot miss the fort, the Magic docks right across the road from it, there is a 'newish' footbridge from the port directly across to the fort over the busy dual carriageway road, from the upper decks of the Magic you Will be able to take good photos of the Fort. Deck 10 etc.

I would do this but have booked a DCL tour at this time, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

DH2B changed our Palo ressie to CC night now. He didn't want to have to get dressed up again - 3 nights in a row was getting to be a lot, I guess? With the first formal night the next night, I'm sure it will work better. I'm just trying to not take over any kind of control with the planning, except for the packing and pirate antics. So I guess we'll miss all of you that night after all. But I'm sure you'll be able to pick us out at another time...or maybe not, based on the thousands of others on the ship. :

Christopher (KSDISNEYDAD) and I will be out there or in the gym. We'll watch for you or anyone else out there.

Oh, how cute! We will be celebrating 18 years on August 11th. Newlyweds are not the only ones that have those 'silly contented grins'. Shhhhh don't tell Christopher I said that!

Maybe we'll join you for a walk or two and maybe even the gym! We'll see.

Reading this board and all of the couples celebrating anniversaries on the cruise are inspiring. I can only hope that we'll be together as long, if not longer!

The more the merrier! Just didn't want to make it a scheduled event so we can play it by ear as to where, when and how.

Actually, I give him a lot of credit, he has researched this camera to death and is spending his summer refining his photographic skills rather than playing Halo on the XBox with all his friends

If my DH2B had the choice between playing with a new camera and playing Halo, he's choose Halo hands down. It's great that your DS has found a hobby outside of video games this summer. The weather has been so great lately that I'm sure he's had plenty of opportunities for some great shots.

Our last cruise Pikey introduced us as 'the DaCosta family from Washington state and the DIS boards!' It was just the coolest!

So sorry to hear this. I know exactly how you are going to feel. When we returned to WDW after my dad (55) passed in '05, I unexpectantly started crying uncontrollable as we approached AK. The last time we had been there was with him and the rest of the family in '02. I could not believe how the emotion swept over me! Prepare yourself and maybe it will go smoother for you.

Ruby's at a weird stage right now. She used to not care about fitting in and for the most part- like around kids at school and stuff she doesn't care ENOUGH to really change her personality and stuff like that... but in social situations I could see it happening. I mean it's not like she minds me really great to begin with- so it wouldn't take much to talk her into disobeying me is what I'm saying. LOL

They are doing a resort dive with Red Sail Sports http://www.aruba-redsail.com/index.shtml

Check the website, since your DH is already a diver he would be doing a completely different thing than us.

If anyone knows anything about this outfit please let me know. DS came up with it from his Scuba magazine and the reviews were mixed. We probably can't go too wrong since we aren't divers and won't know the difference if it's good or not

Oh yeah, Jeff wants to really dive. He doesn't even like the sound of the DCL excursions I've read where they say 20 ft deep and he's like what? that's a waste of time getting in the gear. LOL
His FIRST scuba dive (before getting certified here at home) was a few years ago at our Jamaica resort and he liked it so much he has been hooked ever since. So your DH/DS should have a great time....... and don't be surprised if they also become hooked on diving afterwards. hehe

And haven't we talked about a DIS meet at DL on that Saturday? Is there a thread about this with more info, on the pirate board?

So we get in on the Thursday before the cruise, and have a morning flight, I think we get in at 9 something. I'm looking for a rec for lunch at either one of the hotels or downtown disney for lunch. Anyone have any suggetions or favorites?

We enjoyed Story Tellers Cafe at the Grand Californian - we didn't need a reservation when we were there it was very nice and relaxing.

How could you do Dolphin Trainer or a day in PV? That's what we'd originally planned (me with Ruby doing trainer for a day, DH scuba diving) but it wasn't available to do it so we picked signature swim instead!

It was available today when I looked online. I heard that they were not going to do it due to the time we were arriving but then that changed, and it sold out quickly, but now (earlier) there was an opening and i don't know if I should chance it.

We got to go to Ringling Brothers Circus today DW niece work for Feld productions who put the show on so we got great seats. First time at a circus since I was a kid. It has really changed. There are now musical numbers, Circe de soleil acts along with the traditional animal acts. We had a great time.

We are going next weekend. Every summer the kids participate in the Summer Reading Programs at the local libraries, and one of the "prizes" that they got this year was a pass for a free ticket to the circus. Since my youngest doesn't actually need a ticket yet, we only had to purchase one ticket and got the other 4 for free! What a bargain! I'm sure the kids will more than make up for it when they want sno-cones, cotton candy, etc!

Your pictures turned out great. I wasn't sure if they'd allow us to bring cameras in.

Funny, we were told as long as the DV is used the credit is applied automatically due to the first 6 digits of the card.??? They were going to get a popup installed in the reservation computers that would identify the caller as having a DV. Wonder if it was ever implemented? Guess not! This discussion was last year before the Med cruises.

I'm glad you finally did get to speak to someone. I was going to say, I have never had a problem getting that info and have always booked with a TA. Must have been a new cm.

The code is DCC. I don't believe it is automatic yet. I have found out over time which CMs will help and which will not. I just call back

Isn't it true that you not only have to book with the card, but also have to pay in full with it??

All payments need to be made with the Disney Visa to qualify. Some of the CMs will add the DCC code automatically when the final payment is made if it's using the Disney Visa. Others expect you to ask for it.

There is an 800 number listed on your confirmation page with DU. You will talk directly to someone there OR maybe winotracy can help you out if you pm her since she is on this cruise.

I am more than happy to help any of the DU clients on this cruise with specific questions about your reservations. I'm on cloud nine right now
I've been accepted into the hoteling program at work. It's where I get to telecommute for 4 out of 5 days per week They will send my computer equipment home and I just have to set up a home office (go out and buy a good desk). I start training on the new software first week of August
I'll be working from home by the 2nd week
Working for the gov't is not bad at all. I'm a patent examiner.

The kids are thrilled too
Mom can drive them places now
