I called Disney to ask about my downgrade (yes downgrade - as I am in a 10 and it is just me so could do with an 11 or 12). They said the ship is completely sold out and that had been noted in my account so most likely not going to happen. Oh well.

Isn't there someone who posted in the last 24 hours that their TA thought that they had a room to upgrade to from I think a 12 or 11? If anyone remembers who that was maybe your TAs can work out a trade with DCL???

Rillsung (Teri) I believe wants an upgrade from a 12

At least an hour. Just make sure that wherever you stand, you can see the castle and the Matterhorn. If you want a clear view of the castle, you'll need to be there 2 hours early.

Folks may be seating that early, but they will make you stand as it gets closer to the show, so take that into account when finding a spot.

:) Sounds like MK. We will plan to grab a late dinner and then get desert to eat while we wait there. Thanks!

You can always walk around the pools with a sandwich board ringing a bell?:lmao:

Here ye Here ye!

Chrissie

Of course, Christian could always be asked to add it to his daily updates over the intercom. :rotfl2:

Regarding the Disney Visa OBC, I just spoke to a very friendly & cheerful DCL rep & they tell me they can neither confirm nor deny whether I have that credit, that I have to have my travel agent call & they will tell them yes or no. "However, if there are any other questions that are not reservation specific, I'd be glad to help you"! Ah okay well thanks again for your superty dee duper hassle free information!!! :headache:

When I emailed DU a while back I was told, "If I booked it with a Disney Visa then I should have the credit & they can't tell by looking at my reservation". I don't have an actual DU agent assigned to my reservation so I guess I get whoever is available to answer my emails. Wonder if I should bother emailing them again & hope for someone to make a phone call on my behalf? I know once I get on board & it's not added to my account I am SOL at that point. :sad1:

There is an 800 number listed on your confirmation page with DU. You will talk directly to someone there OR maybe winotracy can help you out if you pm her since she is on this cruise. ;)

Anyone going on the Talofa Tall Ships in Cabo? Wondering if anyone has heard much about this.

I'm going on the Talofa Tall Ships. Only saw one comment from a trip report that was favorable. Frankly, I was astonished it wasn't more popular - I expect it to be one of the high points of the trip for me. To sail on a tall ship... what a treat!

Now about to turn 25dd told me that she has a *preconception* appt with her OB/GYN on Tuesday. :confused3 *preconception*????

Yes, that where you see a specialist who corrects you on some of the preconceived ideas that you have. In this case the most likely outcome is for her to come home saying "... and she told me it could happen on your very first time!!!!! I had NO idea!!!!....

The mickey one is the one that's blurry- plus charges two upload fees which I don't understand.
BUT I got an email about free magnets and tried to upload MY copy (saved on computer from your copy that you put in my account) to it to get the free magnets..... and it's blurry too! ugh ugh ugh
The other one- it's still cutting off the bottom half of our name part on the bottom left. vistaprint is getting on my last nerve and I need to get these ordered in order to get them in time! :(

THe mickey head? One upload is for the swirled MH and the other is for the black MHs that are in the corner. The magnets that are currently in your cart are not blurry when I pull them up and nothing is being cut off. The one with your names on them is the one I needed to crop. You do not have the image that was finally uploaded and is currently in your account on email. That is why the one you are trying to do isn't working. I had to crop it to get it to work and did that on the actual website so that it would not look blurry. The ones that I sent you via email were not print quality since they were a printscreen just to show you what they look like. If you order through ebates.com you will get the 50% off. Send me the code and I will try to get it to apply to some of the order for you.

THanks for the information. I am ordering a DL passporter to help us out there. Since we will only be at DL for one day, we are going to have to try to see both and just get the best view we can for Fantasmic. :) Just wondering if the view from the hub is the same deal as at WDW. We have found that trying different spots around the park a bit away from the center have been an okay view. THe first time we were told to sit in front of the castle where we were for the parade. NOT the best advised since most of the fireworks were out of our view behind the castle.

My regular area is actually in the hub, on the north spoke of the hub facing the castle. I am always right in the back part of that spoke/isle/whatever. Just on the other side of the brick line from the circle path around the partners statue. And also standing on the right side of the railing.

Reasons behind that exact spot. First off, the center of the hub is elevated vs closer to the castle, the further you are back (but not in the walk way, the better view you get without the castle blocking). Standing on the right because the fireworks are off center towards the left so by standing on the right helps to center them a little more (still not over the center of the castle though).

Also, on the very first night of Remember, I was in that area (a little more forward due to a stage set up for filming) and I was lucky enough to talk with Steve Davidson, the shows creator for 2 hours before fireworks and he mentioned he designed the show to have the best viewing from where the partner statue is. So get as close as you can without getting in the walk way.

Also, after the show, be ready to book it, you should be able to quickly exit behind you from the hub and head towards Frontierland. Usually after the fireworks, they hold people there and let Fantasmic exit a little and then let people in from Frontierland so you should be able to snag a decent spot for the second show if you can make a quick exit from the fireworks.

Also remember, Disneyland's castle is not as tall of Magic Kingdom's castle. Their castle size is to compensate for the lack of magic that park has.

Lisa,
My DD was terrified too when we did our first DCL cruise. She was 11 at the time and had also seen Titanic...so funny...went though the same thing. Had to explain the water was too warm, we couldn't hit an iceberg. Sometimes they are so cute....and then they grow up. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Debi

Well, I will admit that on our first cruise that thought was in the back of my mind. I did flash to the movie when we were all filing down from our deck 7 forward rooms wearing lifejackets wondering what it would feel like if it was for real. :(

Thanks Lisa! I ended up calling back & getting a very helpful CM & I'm all set. Someone else suggested Tracy too. I'm sure she would've been able to help me, but it all worked out! :goodvibes

I always laugh when I see someone post this..I have been on 3 Disney Cruises and they have never announced our name...I am not sure why..i know the first one, everyone was a little scattered from a hurricane but I dont know on the other two. Hopefully they will this time! :yay:

:lmao: My kids know the ropes and they will not pass by the CM at the end of the gangway without telling them our names. Last cruise we boarded with another family who was cruising for the first time and they made sure that she gave her name too. The kids lead the way with DS pulling the rolling cooler. :lmao:

We got to go to Ringling Brothers Circus today :cool1: DW niece work for Feld productions who put the show on so we got great seats. First time at a circus since I was a kid. It has really changed. There are now musical numbers, Circe de soleil acts along with the traditional animal acts. We had a great time.

What fun!!! I am thinking about taking the kids on Aug 15th.....

Thanks Stephanie, now I am REALLY scared....   :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Maybe a donation from them would be in order, yeah right...what planet do I live on?
Debi

:rotfl: :rotfl: I want to live on a planet that aldut children pay part of their way! :rotfl: :rotfl:

1 more - they just closed the doors on the plane, she should be leaving soon.

:yay:
Debi

:yay: :woohoo: :yay: I hate when evening flights get delayed!

She posted a week or so ago that her husband broke his knee wakeboarding and so they had to cancel. I decided that I should stop procrastinating on buying that trip insurance after reading that!

OUCH!! How did I miss that post??? Was it on this thread? I dont' read the Pirate board.

Anyone know where I can get a large package of bonine or dramamine? I have checked a couple stores, and the largest that I can find is 8 tablets...not going to go far with 4 people.

Also...what do people use for kids under 6 when it comes to seasickness? The pharmacist was trying to sell me on the seabands, but I know that my 3 year old will just turn those in to big fat rubberbands.
Carol

I bought a bottle of about 100? of Meclazine(sp?). You have to ask the pharmacist for it but, it is not prescription.

Honestly? I was being kind! They annoy the carp out of her! ;)

She is a huge House, MD fan! Go figure! :confused3

We've never seen House, MD so, I don't know what type of show that is..... We love musicals --we are a theater family though! LOL!

About Samantha- I could see that about her- not wanting to be in trouble. I told you she'd be a good influence on Ruby! LOL Ruby isn't a trouble maker- I could just see her -if with older teens- just going along with the flow if they were wanting to do anything against any rules (like maybe just against MY rules but not necessarily considered misbehavior on the cruise. KWIM?) just to fit in, not make waves, not look like a baby to them, etc. Yanno?

Oh those bathing suits are huge! You have seen me- you know my size.. and yet the size 8 disney swimsuit fits me? I'm so not a size 8....... not even close. LOL Well everything fits, including my gigantic hiney (ugh) EXCEPT FOR um..... the chest area. that part barely fits in there. LOL I'll probably just wear my regular plain ole green 1pc IF I even get a swimsuit. This time I might since it's a longer cruise. Last time I brought swimsuits and never put them on. LOL

Oldest DS would *follow* to fit in..... I don't think Samantha cares if she fits in or if anyone likes her.... :rotfl: She's like me in that way!

There are projections on the castle and the Matterhorn so you do really want to be in the hub. Unless you just want to see the fireworks in the sky, then in front of Small World is a good place to watch, but that puts you farther away from Fantasmic.

And remember, DL's castle is way smaller than WDW.

Um...you don't really want to know. Let's just say it's a drama about a brilliant, but inappropriate doctor.

I love old musicals! I'm a huge fan, but my kids & DH....not so much! I'm doomed to watch them in private I guess! :confused3
