7 for 5 or AP?

Well the rumor is that they are going to offer 7 for 5 (instead of 7 for 4) for late summer. If this is true, do you think that deal or an AP discount, if offered, would be better?

I know I could do the math... but I'm too lazy.

I am wondering the exact same thing! Is the 5 nights based on rack rate and UPH for 5 nights and 6 days, or what? It seems that an AP rate and not paying for park admission would have to come out less$$! But only I have the AP so if I travel with three other people...

I guess it would depend on whether you already have an AP. If you do, then that rate would be a better one. If not, then the 7 for 5 (if the rumors are true) would probably be more cost effective if you'd be there a week or more.

I did the math and did the comparisons for what we already have booked and the possible 7 for 5 deal and found that we'd be saving about $700. Right now we have 2 room only reservations at the BC. One is for 8 nights/9 days for which we added UPH tickets. The other is a 1 night only since we're checking out early the last day. We have AAA discount applied and the UPH passes are already paid for and were bought with an advance purchase discount. So for us, if the rumor is true, it could save us a chunk of change.

I thought I was getting pretty good at this code thing and saving money on the resorts but now I feel confused. For some reason, I just don't think that 7 for 5 is a good deal for us. Isn't it cheaper for me when I get a good room only discount and then just buy our 4 or 5 day park hoppers on our own? What do you guys think. I am disappointed that it might be a Fairytale package again. I really was looking forward to a room only code. Should I just book ahead now and use AAA discount just in case? We aren't really into the UPH because we don't like to spend every day at the parks. Any insight would be great.

Thanks,
Kim

Well there could still possibly be AP rates and maybe even some other codes.... I was just disappointed to hear they might do 7 for 5 instead of 7 for 4. I really don't think that the 7 for 5 will amount for that much of a savings over buying rooms and tickets separate.

I agree, I think the 7/4 was a great deal. However the 7/5-- you're getting 2 nights free at the hotel (which a good code would reduce a rack rate to that anyhow). Then you're getting 1 day of UPH's for free (if I'm thinking of this right-- because you still always pay for the day you're leaving). So, the overall savings isn't going to be as substantial.

The only thing is, that w/ the FTP pkg last year-- they did have some AP codes but they were VERY limited!!
