7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

We leave on Friday, right after school . Debbie ( from Pa.) is coming on Thursday to Tampa. We'll be at Radisson. Going to Grills too.

My DH is also being Grumpy. Sick of hearing about the cruise. Well I'm still excited. I can't wait.

great goofytoo- my DS6 can be kind of shy in large groups so it would be great if he could meet your nephew before hand!! :Pinkbounc

we leave 5/6/05- bright and early on an 8am direct flight- :cool1: we are staying at ron jons before the cruise and then staying at cocoa beach inn for a day after the cruise so DH can fish (he is a fishing nut) DH is more excited about his 3 day fishing trip in june then he is about the cruise :confused3 at least that is how i see it :guilty: ...oh well, he can't stop my excitement

we cruised about 5 years ago on the carnival fantasy and had a good time but it was only a 4 day cruise

mommommouse- you will know my DH because i bought him a hat that says "grumpy" :rotfl:

What time do you land?
we have a 8:30 flight out of Boston we should land around 11:44

we willl be wandering around the airport around the same time!

How was your carnival cruise?

hi gooftoo

we land around 10:15 am- then we are having a town car pick us up- we never drive anymore in FL....after a heated episode several years ago where we could see WDW but husband kept taking the wrong exit :rotfl: :teeth: round and round we went, by the time we got there we weren't feeling the magic :sad2:

i enjoyed the carnival cruise-lots of very flashy neon,(kind of overkill) great buffets, though i have nothing to compare it to- i am hoping DCL will be much better....it sure cost more :earseek:

i got my mini flashlights today to give out to the kids at the dismeet- i also have some extra pirate tatoos' if you nephew would like some :goodvibes

i am almost too excited now, and can't concentrate at work

They might as well count me out for the next 10 days.
No ,I am just kidding. But I know what you mean it is difficult to get stuff done!
always thinking how many days what is it that I forgot etc.
we have a Tiffany van picking us up.
We have about 10 of us in the party. hope all of the luggage fits :confused3
Mini flashlights that sounds like fun!

Disney is awesome!

that is why this is our 3rd cruise :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We were on the Carnival Fantasy last year and it was nice enough. We like the food, service, decor, and entertainment better on Disney. The Carnival ship seemed a little outdated. We were a bit concerned about the party reputation Carnival has, but we had no problems.

Hopefully we will be packing by this time tomorrow as long as my Doctor appointment in the morning goes ok. I can wiggle my toes a little more today, so that is good!

A few days ago I was convinced this cruise was cursed. I hurt my foot REALLY bad. It was agony for a week and I was on crutches over the weekend because putting my foot on the floor sent shivers up my spine.
THANKFULLY I WOKE UP MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER TODAY. This cold weather isn't helping though.
So..... we should start the limping, but still going chat room.
OKAY, EVERYONE, STAY HEALTHY, GET WELL, AND LETS GET PACKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See you sore footers in the hot tub!

I started tanning my flab today - just to get a head start! :goodvibes
We Washatonians are so white we're almost blue! Now that is bad!

I am sweating keeping the DD's healthy. My 3 year old just finished her 3rd round of antibiotics for an ear infection - went to the dr. today and it is gone. BUT she woke up with a runny nose! Man, I really don't want to go down that road again. I'm thinking of keeping her out of preschool next week, just to be on the safe side, but DH thinks I'm crazy. We'll see.
Are you guys bringing any sea sick meds for the kids? I didn't see anything for kids at the drug store I went to today, I may need to shop around. Any suggestions?

Did everyone get their docs? Stay off your feet and rest up!! :flower:

LostGirls...my boys are older but DH gets seasick  so I'm bringing Bonine and SeaBands for him. I've heard that you can get Bonine at the front desk on the ship. (Free, supposedly :earseek: )

I, too, have the guestroom bed stacked up with clothes. Haven't packed yet because I want to be sure to spread out everyone's clothes among the suitcases just in case one gets lost. Can you imagine losing one suitcase and it contains all of one person's clothes? Is anyone bringing wine? :drinking1 I've heard that's ok on Disney, just to wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in your carryon. We have a favorite and I just would rather not spend a fortune for wine on the ship. Besides, then we'll have room in that bag on the way home for souvenirs. :cheer2:

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: We're really getting excited! I can't believe it's less than two weeks. Even DH says he's excited. He's one of those people you have to take his word for it because he shows no signs. :rolleyes1 DS17 is beside himself though I don't know if it's the cruise or missing the next to the last week of his senior year of high school. DS13, who couldn't care less actually showed some enthusiasm...he's saving his money to buy a sombrero in Cozumel. :cool1: I guess, at least, he's resigned himself to going! :rotfl2:

Gotta go check another list. All of us obsessive, compulsive planners may have to have daily meetings, like AA. :rotfl:

:wave2: Linda

We Mainers are almost blue as well .
I have been tanning too!
as said on previous occasions Tan fat looks better!
It makes it easier to put those shorts on.
As for sea sickness stuff I always bring Bonine and sea bands.
I have not had to use them yet. It is sort of sad I but new box everytime because they expire.
I know they give out free Mezcaline(dramimine) on the boat

I am not a queasy sort of girl but,I know the time I don't bring it I will need it.

Kaykels I am glad everyones Boo Boo are getting better!!!!
My MIL ankle is getting better too I guess we will have to stand in line at the terminal with everyone else!

9 More days!!!!!!
:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

No phones!...that's what I'm looking forward to. And relaxing and sunshine and not making the bed and not cooking or cleaning or yardwork and meeting all of you!!! :)
Linda

We're known as the whitest white family around here. Irish heritage, I guess. You'll all recognize DH because he always wears a hat and long-sleeved shirt due to prior incidences with skin cancer. DS13 and I don't tan...our freckles just blend together. :rotfl: DS17 is the only one who tans nicely. Don't know where he got that from. I've been trying to use the self-tanner stuff but I always look orangish. Maybe because I don't really tan naturally, just burn. Oh well.
Linda

Hey! I live in Florida and I'm probably just as white as you all. :rotfl2: We really haven't had the weather to tan. For us it's been cold. I'm going to try to go to the pool this week. I guess I'll have white flab.

There is an all natural product for the kids. The natural food store should have liquid Ginger. I've heard it's works good but I've never used it.That's what I'm taking this time. DH gets sick so he got the patches from the doctor.

Everytime I think I'm ready, I think of something else I need. Pretty soon I'm going to need a steamer trunk. Now I know why they needed them.

Glad to hear everyone is getting better. My hip is still hurting but I 'm hoping it stops soon.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

We all need to BELIEVE in the medicinal qualities of sea air!!! Everyone's going to heal once they get on that ship...you've got to BELIEVE...after all, we'll be on the MAGIC. :genie:

lostgirls i don't think your crazy  for thinking of keeping your kids out of preschool next week....i'm keeping my DS6 out of school........yeah i know its bad:confused3 but he is doing so well in kindegarten that it really won't make a difference and i discussed it with his teacher- i am going crazy trying to keep him well...they just had their third bout of strep throat in his class in 10 days and i can't take a chance on him catching it before we go :scared:
DH doesn't know yet that DS6 will be home next week....he wont be real pleased :guilty: but i'm just going to take DS6 to work with me (very laid back office)

9 DAYS .....9 DAYS.....9 DAYS.....9 DAYS!!!!!!!]
 :Pinkbounc :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Bratray,
If you put things into perspective, a week or two missed in Kindergarten isn't going to matter one bit down the road. Yes, they do learn in Kindergarten but it's more for social acclimation and he will get that with the other kids on the cruise. Keep him away from all those little germ carriers so that he will be healthy and able to enjoy the trip. When our boys were small, we took them out of school all the time for vacation. They always kept a journal and the experience was well worth it. In fact, we'd get their schoolwork ahead of time and they'd finish it on the plane. That really sums up how much they actually missed! Now that my boys are older, I can tell you without a doubt that those weeks spent with family are remembered far more than any week at school they may have missed. Make sure your son purchases some little reminder of each of the places he visits, something specific to that country. He'll have it in his room and years later it will spark his memory of the trip. One of the things we always buy from our travels is a refrigerator magnet. Then, it's right there to see everyday.

I think that I am looking forward to the warm weather the most. It is 47 here in Ohio today with rain for the next 5 days. Last weekend it snowed for 2 days in a row... so my family and I really are in need of some sunshine.

And to think I was complaining about a trace of rain in Vegas last weekend. :earseek:

Here's to warm weather, clear skies, and lots of fun for everone in less than 2 weeks from now. Can you feel the excitement building??? :goodvibes

Bratray - You do what you have to do to insure a healthy kid and a great vacation for your family. My youngest DD 10 wanted to walk to school but it was raining ("I have my umbrella") :sad2: I said no way she was taking the chance of catching a cold (I know I know... colds don't come from the weather, but she doesn't know that :earboy2: ) My kids sick VERY rarely, but I'm not taking any chances either.

9 days till we leave :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I'm hitting Walmart this evening to get all the final miscellaneous stuff. We're all set! :sunny:

Tera- Hit Walmart last week and found some good buys. A five piece Skyline luggage set (1 Big Roller, 1 Medium Roller, 1 Rolling Duffle Bag, 1 Day Bad and 1 Shaving Bag) for $48.00. Also found some good toys to amuse the kids, and bought myself an Obi-won Kenobi lightsabre to boot (I know, I'm a total dork). Have fun, and find those bargains!

Flying to Orlando on the 6th!!! :flower:
