7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

I was sick with flu like symptoms from 3 am that last day of our cruise until about 24 hours later. We had to drive back across and down FL to Naples with me having to stop frequently to take care of things to put it delicately.
I'm fine now but still rocking when I walk :rotfl:
Planning the remaining payments on our next cruise and My DD24's wedding on Oct 28th.

Hope everyone is and remains well

Carol

Linda & teresa,
Thanks for asking. Kennedy's birthday was great. Rob and I are taking her to Disney this weekend for her birthday. Really because we need a fix.

Sorry to hear everyone was sick. I spoke to James. He's doing ok. Not great but ok.I miss everyone talking.
Keep in touch,
Debbie :grouphug:

Debbie...still having withdrawal, are you? Me, too. I'm on the boards constantly, basically trying to catch up on the repo cruise board. Just started on that one today and up through page 40 of 93. So far they've had a death on Castaway Cay and a big pin snafu. Obviously, the death is a very sad event and all of us pray for that poor family. I'm not into the pins and that whole story is really getting a bit old to me so I just peruse those postings quickly. There were some great pictures earlier in the cruise. We're all like a bunch of junkies, needing to get our daily fix. :rotfl2:

I'm starting my scrapbook. I obsess about that, too. I have two cameras left with unfinished rolls of film AND my regular camera broke with a roll left in it. Fortunately, I was able to manually rewind it. I've got to see if I can get it fixed because DS17 graduates June 5th and that camera has a nice zoom.

I, too, hope everyone is feeling better. DS13 went back to school yesterday. He missed ALL of last week with that stomach bug. His teachers are being very understanding, thank goodness. James...get well!

If anyone has some nice basic photos from inside the ship, would you mind sharing them? I was a little negligent in that area. Thanks.

Is everyone back to reality? Speaking of reality...any opinions on the Amazing Race, Survivor, Bachelor or Idol? Yeah, I know....I watch them all.

Let's try to keep in touch. Miss you, Debbie.
:wave2: Linda

Linda,
If you PM me i can give you my e-mail address at home. It will be easier to keep in touch. I'll go on the repo boards to read what happen. I've been missing ti to bad to read other peoples fun stories. oh well suppose to be working, so e-mail me.
Debbie

Hey all...

Just wanted to check in and say what a MAGICAL cruise we had! It was so much fun meeting so many of you, starting at Port (when DH, who reluctantly wore his lime green t-shirt, asked me why so many people were introducing themselves to him... LOL!) to the DIS meet and all throughout the cruise and ports. I think I ran into Suzie from Ormond Beach the most... it was kind of comical how frequently we bumped into each other. I ran into James, LostGirls and AlexAndrew quite frequently, too!

THANK YOU so much to James and DW for the fabulous pins and to the suppliers of bubbles and flashing pirate pins (I've lost track).

Unfortunately about 4 hours after disembarking our trip became much, much less MAGICal. We were due to spend the following week in West Palm with DH on business but decided to go to Downtown Disney/Marketplace for a few hours to soak up a little more magic - and, to get DH a Mickey necktie (one of the "business" ones). While I was in a gift shop (of course!), DH took DD3 on the Carousel. Simple, right? NOT WITH MY DH! I get called out of the gift ship because DH fell getting off the darn carousel and had to be carried to a bench - by guests, because the CM said he couldn't help, just stood in his booth. :earseek: Long story short.... he was taken via ambulance to Celebration Hospital with a serious knee injury. Didn't know what to do.... stay in Orlando for the night to figure out a game plan (home vs. continuing to West Palm?). Went back to Guest Services at the Marketplace hoping they'd help me with a room for the night (not necessarily free, but discounted?). NOPE... just handed me the phone with the number for reservations. Best I was offered was Grand Floridian for $470. Gee, thanks.
DH decided he better at least try to get to his conference in West Palm so we ventured off, with his leg immobilized and unable to drive. He made it through, with many "happy pills", to Thursday morning and then we began our trek north to my mom's in St. Augustine (4 hours). Since we had driven down from PA, with the dog!, this was leaving me to drive alone all the way. We managed to get flights home with Freq. Flier miles and DH's company had someone drive our car and dog home to PA. Thank goodness.
So, we just got home a few days ago and are slowly getting unpacked. DH still won't be able to drive for several weeks so I'm the official taxi service.
Still need to get pictures developed, etc, so I have much to do.

Oh, BTW, my DD3 also started getting sick, coughing, on the day we left the ship. It got much worse with a high fever and sore through and she's still recovering. Sounds like many of the little ones got sick.
Can't wait to read the trip reports! Anyone else rebook? We're on the 11/11/06 double Castaway cruise.

I just posted a trip report on the other board in case anyone is interested. It took me awhile to finish since we were sick after we got home. Hope everyone is doing better now.

My kid got sick too! He got sick on Friday (the last night) with croup. So did our friend's son. Maybe they picked up something in the kids clubs?????

Hi all
I am sorry I haven't posted since now and won't give any excuses.. I have got to say how much my DW and I enjoyed meetinng all of you.. I sure do wish we had of had a 2nd meet other than the pirate night so some of the members wwe missed could have experienced the MAGIC...Things finakky got back to normal after the earth stopped rocking for a couple of days.. We went to early breakfast and remembered the board post on meeting the porters at the side door on debarkation and went straight to the Radisson shuttle without any delay...Tera you guys really touched me in several ways that were special.. I can't believe how time flew and we didn;t even go to one show..I think we are going to give another cruise line a try and see if the posts on the lacoolk of the Disney Magic is true or not..I looked for everyone at CC but unfortunately we didn't see anyone..Man I can't believe that we had our old server and head server from our last trip.. For our anniversary on Thursday they even served us choclate suffle from Palo's :earseek: I will post a report before too long and try to give a fairly accurate account of the cruise.. Bee safe and God bless you all. P.S. my cat is trying to help on this report by walking all over the keyboard.Talk soon - James and D.Anne

I have been wanting to post a message since we got home, but still trying to get back into the scheme of things. It's so funny how my thoughts were so focused for so long on the cruise...and now it's over :sad2: The kids got out of school last Wed, so summer is in full swing here.
Being it was our first Disney cruise, I feel the need to get right back on that ship and replay it all! The time flew by SO quickly, but it was magical nonetheless :wizard: Looking back on it all, there were things we wanted to do, but didn't get the chance. We wanted to look into rebooking , but everytime I went, the line was long. I ended up rebooking after we got home, and now we lost Disney's onboard credit :guilty: I wish we could have met up with everyone more. And yes Donna, I think I saw you at least 3-4 times during the day! We were fortunate to be on the Stingray City tour with a few of you others, but DH was borderline sea sick and ds6 (who is a great swimmer) was terrifed of the whole experience. As for me....it kind of scared the bejeezees out of me. You'd think I would be used t these sort of creatures living in Florida? My other three though it was awesome!
Glad you all made it home safely. Thanks so much for all the information given before the cruise...it really helped so much :earsboy:
I'll eventually do a cruise report. I just got all my pictures organized.

James - Glad to hear your doing well. It was great fun hanging out with you and D.Anne and thanks for leaving the magnets on our cabin door. I have them on our garage refrigerator with all our vacation magnets :goodvibes

Debbie - How was WDW for Kennedy's birthday?? I have two pictures of her and Jessica together that I want to send. PM me your mailing address and I can send those to you.

Bratray - How was your daughter's prom? Are you getting back into the weight loss mode again? I've lost about 2.4 of my 3.8 and hope to have the rest gone by next week.

I did finally finish my trip reports and they are long and I tend to blab, so be warned. It helped writing everything out to try and remember what we did. I still can't believe how quickly the trip went by and THANK GOD for pictures or I would totally have forgotten stuff. I should have them ready to view soon.

Teresa,
Kennedy's birthday was good. We went to Typhon Lagoon. and the Wilderness Lodge for dinner. We had a lot of fun. I guess it's time to get back to normal but it's hard after the cruise. We got our Cd for DCL today. Any body else get theirs? I just talked to Linda. She got her's too. My DH is having the hardest time adjusting and he's the one that didn't want to go. :rotfl: :confused3

Well everybody please keep in touch. :grouphug:
Debbie

Although the CD about made me cry!!
Now I'm thinking another 7 day - maybe the Eastern - in 2007! How far out do they release the announce the sailing dates? :goodvibes
I need something to look forward to!!
What do you think Tera, want to try for that??? :)

Eastern in 2007 :cool1:

That sounds like fun. I heard rumors that they are adding different ports in 2007
Lets keep our eyes open. 2 days at sea right at the beginning does not thrill me but I would love to go to St Thomas and St Martin

Bratray???

Lynn,
That sounds like a good idea for 2007. I heard the rates come out in Sept. Not possitive though. I got the pictures fron the stingrays. I'll mail you some.

We are going on a 4 night in Sept, 2006 but I might be able to swing a 7 night in May 2007. It would be great if we could get alot of us to go. We could all meet again. :grouphug: I'm still having withdraw. Ant body else?

Debbie

I'm not thrilled with 2 days at sea either. But we do have time to plan! :goodvibes Maybe something new will be out by then. I could go for 2 days at Castaway Cay!! :teeth:

Debbie,
that would be fun! We'll have to all stay in touch! I still need to get copies of the Sting Rays for you - I'm running a little behind!

I am still having withdrawals :guilty: We got our CD too. I wish it was actually longer :teeth:

Debbie - I'm glad you guys had such a great time. I'll send those pictures to you hopefully within the next week.

Lynn - Nick would TOTALLY be up for Eastern in 2007. I hope they have do add some different ports, but I would love to see St Thomas & St Martin. I would KILL to have two days on Castaway Cay.

Lisa - WHERE did you find the receipe for the conch coolers? I would LOVE to have one of those about now :teeth: Disney sent out a package with a survey & your Castaway member cards with a music CD that is suppose to remind you of the cruise.
