6/13/2009 Western on Magic- Our Cruise Chat Continues!

We're hoping to get up early to see it too! We are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott airport location the night before (get in late and plan to get up exta early!) Can't wait!!! We're going to eat breakfast afterwards, then stop by a store for any last minute things. Hope to be to the terminal by 10 or 10:30am. Where can I find FAQ's about the shuttle launch?
What do you want to know?

My DH & I guess I will too, get up early & see the lauch from the swan. The kids are a no go, they will sleep in. Dh is a science nut! :) I told him we could rent a car & go down, but he doesn't want to go that far :)

I hope he wants to go to the coast to catch the boat?:lmao:

So I am a horrible mom... now that Jayde has her license; she needs a job in order to put gas in her car (I give $20/week when I receive a child support check). I emailed a company she previously applied to (hasn't heard from them :confused3) BUT know they are hiring and filled out an app for AMC movies. I told her she needs to get a work permit, also. It is too bad she can't work at a bookstore (B&N & Borders ~ you have to be 18). MRJ theaters you have to apply in person.... oh wait, I have another one ~ White Castle is opening right by us.

Hey, when her car is on "E" she will understand!!! :rotfl2:

Actually that makes you a good mom. :goodvibes It will be a great life lesson.

I thought all of you with second dining might be interested in this bit of information that came across my TA desk today....

New Option: Dine and Play
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a great new offering for families assigned to second dining! The Dine and Play program allows children to get their meals quicker and adults to check-in a child for Youth Activities without leaving the dining room.

Dine and Play

•Available on both the Disney Magic® and Disney Wonder® Cruise Ship.
•Offered during second dining in any of the main dining rooms - Animator’s Palate, Lumieres, Tritons and Parrot Cay.
•Open to children ages 3-12.
Here's how it works: Your Client arrives in the dining room and informs the server that their child would like to participate in Dine and Play. The dining room team brings the child's meal first while serving the adults at a more leisurely pace.

About 45 minutes after seating begins, Youth Activities Counselors arrive in the dining room and sign in the child to their respective groups in Disney's Oceaneer Club or Disney's Oceaneer Lab, eliminating the need for your Client to escort the child to Deck 5.

Adults are then able to enjoy the full dining experience with the knowledge that their child is having a great time in a safe, fun and comfortable environment.

I read that it was available again.... it was suppose to be on a trail basis only. And if you called DCL about they were told to strictly say absolutely nothing about.

I am sure parents w/younger ones may take advantage of it.

They must have decided to try it again as this came today directly from the Disney TA Website. It sounds like a great idea for the kids and adults! Let me know if any of you try this onboard and your thoughts so I can pass on to my clients.....

That dine and play almost tempts me to change to late dining. Go see the show, eat, send the kids off, and enjoy my dinner! Fran and Nikki, what do you think?

:goodvibesI think I'm gonna stick with early- but if you want to that's fine. I don't know how much Jordan will like the kids club- so we don't want to chance it. Last time she liked it so-so. I just didn't want to eat that late. :thumbsup2

BTW- her crown fell out today(from her tooth- LOL), so now we have a dentist appt tomorrow on top of everything else we're trying to do.:scared1:

I would rather stay with main dining. We did late dining on another cruise line in April and afterwards we decided that we preferred main dining. Also, without looking at the navigators agains, I think the kids would miss some of the good activities that be going on when we would be getting ready for diner.

If you and/or Nikki decide to switch, let me know and I will remove the link.

We'll stay main. Can't wait to dine with you both!!!!

I now have my magnets done and all the weird/misc things packed (door hanger, extension cords, etc). Sat is my only other day off, so that is my day to pack clothes. Then next Wed will be gathering medicine and all the little items you can't pack until the end (stuffed animals, noise machine, etc). Still have to go buy pillow cases and a mat frame for signing and a few other little items. I think I'll try stopping by Michaels on my way home from work on Friday am.

Now I'm off to get DD in bed (just got home from VBS) and then make my FE bags. IS THE FE LIST ON STEPHANIE'S WEBSITE COMPLETE? I am making stickers for the outside, and I need to know before assembling since some items are for specific ages. Any changes????

Wow. Rob has a dentist appt on Monday and he has one last baby tooth left and it is lose. I hope it comes out before next Friday, although he wants to wait until we are on the ship. He is hoping for Disney Dollars again like last summer.
Funny. I think Rees will lose a tooth while gone too. And Davis and BK's are really wiggly as well. Tink may be busy on the Magic!
