6/13/2009 Western on Magic- Our Cruise Chat Continues!

Ok ~ so I need to decide if I want to ship my FE gift & finish them on board or finish them & just bring another suitcase (we are allowed 2 per person & it would be a small one). Another suitcase would leave me room for extras gifts to bring home.
Any suggestions?!?!

I think the price it would cost you to ship them would help you decide. Do you know how much it would be? If it's only like $5 I would say ship - if it's more than $20 I would say pack another bag.

Hi Donna,
Is your TA, Chuck from A**Seasons Travel? If so, he is ours also. We will be on the June 5 Repositioning and the June 12th Inaugural Baltic cruises too. If it is Chuck then I can't wait to party with him on these cruises.
Faith
Yes A**Seasons is the Travel Agent for myself, Donna (Morgey24) and DisneyPoly I think. I can't wait to meet Chuck! We need to make him buy a round of drinks HA HA!

For us, I have decided to just bring another bag. It is going to cost me either way I go, but that way I would have room for the return trip and all of our goodies.

U.S. Border Crossing Requirements Are Changing - Get Compliant by June 1, 2009!
www.getyouhome.gov/html/lang_eng/index.html

Simplify your travel checklist!

On June 1, 2009, U.S. citizens returning home from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Bermuda, by land or sea, will be required to present one of the travel documents listed below.

Many of these documents are already available, and obtaining one now will ensure that you are ready on June 1, 2009, when they will be required.

U.S. Passport – This is an internationally recognized travel document that verifies a person’s identity and nationality. It is accepted for travel by air, land and sea.

U.S. Passport Card – This is a new, limited-use travel document that fits in your wallet and costs less than a U.S. Passport. It is only valid for travel by land and sea.

Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) – Several states and Canadian provinces are issuing this driver’s license or identification document that denotes identity and citizenship. It is specifically designed for cross-border travel into the U.S. by land or sea.

Trusted Traveler Program Cards – NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST enrollment cards can speed your entry into the U.S. and are issued only to pre-approved, low-risk travelers. The cards are valid for use at land or sea; the NEXUS card can be used in airports with a NEXUS kiosk.

Special Groups – Information for Children, Groups of Children, Native Americans, "Closed Loop" Cruises, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, U.S. Military, Merchant Mariners, Ferries and Small Boats, and Boaters.

Knowing what documents are required and having them ready when you return home will help streamline the entry process and ensure your return to the U.S. is as smooth as possible.

Congrats Morgan ~ good luck today!!

Definitely know about the shorts (I call them coochie shorts); Jayde is all legs so the short shorts are way to short. Maybe we should hit Target ~ we had some luck at Rue 21 (her new fav store!). I am trying to talk her into cutting her jeans that are too short into shorts... no such luck so far!

Go Wings ~ 13 down, 3 to go!!

ok this is Spooky... We were on a camping trip last weekend, and to pacify my daughter, I took her to the outlet mall, where she discovered Rue 21, which she went nuts for. (personally I tell her 1/2 the stuff in there looks like things I wore in the 80's... bad 80's!).

She was also looking for jean shorts, thankfully she likes the peddle pusher length. I told her let's cut off some of your jeans that are too short... I can't wait to tell her that's what other moms say too!!

I 2nd that!:drinking1
He's sold 106 cabins on the June 13th so that's a lot of commission!!!
We used them too for our 2 cabins. Seems he should be buying all of US a round of drinks or having a party on the ship since we made them so much $$! :thumbsup2I do wonder if there might be a little get together ?

I am looking forward to meeting Chuck in person, along with his wife and kids. We have received amazing service from them over the years and can always count on them to get us a suite.

I have no idea how TA make money on cruises, is it based on cabins sold-or cabin price?

If he had a suite I'm sure there would have been a get together, but as of right now I know he does not, but I am sure they will do their best to try to meet everyone

completely finished my FE gift bags..now I am thinking about putting them in a bigger suitcase (med to large) so they are not squished.

I made Jayde help & she asked if this is like doing goody bags for a wedding ~ I said "yes". Her response "I am not getting married". :rotfl2:

Hey Everyone,
I had the completion of my first root canal this am (that is a long process but the endodontist was great and it was fairly painless!) and DH will finish the crown when he comes home tomorrow from Alaska. I consulted with another ENT today and he said the swelling could take awhile to subside in my face and neck if it was related to the tooth (which the endodontist doesn't seem to think it is from - no infection in the tooth). I have an appointment to see a rheumatologist in July when we return from vacation (we'll be gone thru July 5th). So hopefully might get some answers then. Still a mystery.
DH shot a 300 lb black bear this weekend. He took it down with a bow and arrow from a tree stand - he said it was trying to come up the stand!:scared1::scared1::scared1: I would attach the photo but don't know how. He's bringing it back with him to do another mount - oh boy! The last bear he shot, he did a full mount and donated it to an elementary school since their mascot is the grisly bear (although he donated a black bear). They were thrilled! DD is not happy - she's a vegetarian and animal lover.
I, like everyone else on this board, am SO ready for this vacation! Ready to just chill and not think about any more drs or tests for now!

I had a root canal too for the first time last year- I didn't think it was bad at all either.

Well, I went to the tanning salon after work today. Since I am the color of paper, I wanted to get some color. I went 8 minutes in a high pressure bed, I got quite a bit of color- I am going 4 more times before next Wednesday. I still won't be that dark- but at least I won't get burnt in that hot Florida/Caribbean sun. :yay:

We have decided to leave Wednesday evening to get through the dreaded DC beltway- we're going to drive a couple of hours that night, stop at a hotel, then drive the majority of the way on Thursday, stop again, then be at the Radisson by around lunchtime on Friday. I am so excited!!

We leave in 8 days!!! So much to do- sooooo little time.

Oh my  I feel like I am forgetting something already. My weekend is busy with Ariyana's 10th birthday party so I packed 95% this past weekend. I just have FE gifts, booze, water and odds and ends to pack.

I finished my 3 nights, but go back in a day. Only 2 days off between now and next Thurs when we leave. I haven't even started packing, but will try to tackle a lot of it tomorrow. Work was really bad last night (24 weeker that's not going to live), so I've had a rough day with no sleep. And I went back to the Dentist this am to have more repair work. I'm waiting for DD to get home from VBS with a friend, and then I'm headed to bed. Please pray I make working all these nights and can get everything done that needs to be.
