5th Annual Christmas Shopping Thread

I got a lot more Christmas shopping done today with Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 free and free shipping (even to Alaska which is nice for sure). I'm down to some miscellaneous items for the kids. And I still have to figure out a creative way to gift DH beer money (he rates beer as a hobby). I do need to figure out stocking stuffers but am thinking of getting the kids new Disney place settings for the table and picking up a couple things when seasonal stuff comes out.

I'm planning to do Alaska themed gifts for family with Alaska chocolates, jerkies, honey and syrups.

Okay girls, I just looked at the Calendar and guess what? We are 100 days away from Christmas! Double digits are quickly aprroaching..for those of you in diff time zones, I guess you can say 99 already!!!!

I've seen cute things on Pinterest that people do with 6 packs of beer. One that jumps out is to decorate dark beer bottles up as reindeer and then you could somehow incorporate the cash into that....hanging from the antlers or something???

I just can't believe Christmas stuff is up already in the stores!!! :confused3 While I love Christmas shopping early for the deals, I'm not ready to see the decorations up in stores yet. I'd like to get through the next few holidays, first.

Forgive me as I did not read every page here but anyone have any ideas of with the hard to find toys will be? I wonder what new toys will come out. I said to my DH that I was going to get my kids things I know they need and things they want(toys they see now and ask for but do not get) but then allow for 1 or 2 of the "new toys". I just wish they would send out those Christmas Toy Books now. :)

I know...Wal mart and Target will have Trick or Treat and Santa up at the same time!:lmao: How goofy is that?

I crossed another little one of my list this week! I am a nanny and my 3 year old I keep is obsessed with Dinosaur Train. I got him DT Trouble, DT Memory and 3 DT books. All on sale at Amazon, free shipping...under $20!

I bought dd15 Wreck This Journal, which I think she will love! Also on sale at Amazon. We decided her big gifts will be a new TV for her room and an archery set.

My DS also wants an archery set, have you given any thought to where you're going to buy one at? I want something good quality, but not too expensive, kwim?

We went to Dick's this weekend to look at our options. We decided on a compound bow as opposed to a "manual" one! Bahaaaha! I have no idea what a regular one is called. My dd is tiny, and he suggested the youth size for her. It was a very reasonable $50. We'd get her a target and such too. Dh said he wanted to look online though. I will let you know if we see anything else he prefers.

Archery...please disregard what I said earlier! I had it backwards! Dh researched today and went with the Martin XR Recurve Bow Kit from Amazon
for $59.99.

One more Christmas gift down!

DD8 would enjoy an archery set - really into in after seeing Brave & then trying it out when we saw Merida at MK.

Picking up AG Kit movie & DVD on doing hair from AG. Also want to check out TRU games - she loves games!

Headbandz has a cute Disney version of the game that we like.

Keep the great ideas coming!!!!

Best Buy deal of the day yesterday was Johnny Cash cd for $3.99. So, I picked it up for my Grandmother.

I heard the Furby's will be a hot item this year. Thank goodness my DD does not want one.

Jumping on board to check out the "hot" toys and prices for my nieces & nephews.

We have decided to cut back this year. So the kids are going to get something they need, something to read, something to wear, and something they want. I will also fill stockings but I am not going to go crazy. They get enough from all of their grand parents, great grand parents, aunts and uncles. Half the time the stuff just sits there and they don't play with it. I am going to be realistic this year but it is so hard because I love Christmas shopping. :rotfl2:

our toys r us is moving to a bigger store and everything is up to 70% off. Went over the weekend and picked up some PS3 games for DH and some dolls and accessories for DD and some cars stuff for DS. Not a whole lot, but alittle bit. Found a Monster High Venus doll at JC Penney's for my niece.
