Does anyone like the early dinner times? I have 8 year old girls so we are eating earlier. Are there any benefits or disadvantages to eating that early?

we often take 5pm dinner PS's on the days we do a big breakfast (we love our character meals) then we can have a really light lunch (or even just a snack) and be nice and hungry for a 5pm dinner.

With 2 little kids our nights usually end about 9-10pm anyway so an early dinner is fine for us.

I feel as if I posted this :rotfl:

We do the exact same thing!!

Restaurants are much less crowded at 5:00pm versus say 7:00pm. Many times you can walk up and get in a sitdown restaurant if you are willing to eat that early. Also, you should have an easier time making a PS. Of course, during the busiest times of the year you will still encounter plenty of people dining early. The last time we were at WL, WC was booked for the evening so we just showed up right at opening for dinner and got seated right away.

Advantage to an early dinner is a less crowded restaraunt, and when you're done other people will be eating so the lines will be shorter.

I like 5:00 PS's since you'll get seated right away. If you're at a buffet, you know the food will be fresh. Also, I really like 5:00 for character meals. It's less busy then and you aren't competing with as many filled tables for character time.

Count me in as another fan of early times (either dinner or breakfast). It seems less crowded, definitely less chaotic at buffets.

We always do the first lunch and dinner times we can since we aren't breakfast eaters. An early day in the parks, a sit down lunch and usually a lighter dinner works for us.

We usually eat earlier too-no later than 6pm...we save room for the later in the evenings snacks!! ha!

We typically eat between 5 and 6 at home and try to do the same at Disney. Many dinner only places (e.g. Cape May) don't open until 5:30 or 6:00, so we're there at the opening bell, albeit usually with a PS because I like to have them needed or not! Never a problem getting a table, and often you get a good one.

Every single dinner PS we've made for our upcoming trip has been for anywhere from 4:30(fantasmic pkg) to 5:40(PSD :) ).

If you eat a huge breakfast and then get a snack at lunch then you'll be hungry for an early dinner and then you can make it with another snack before leaving the park. We do this because a.(you get to sample snacks from all the parks, and b.(you only pay for one big meal a day. Seems like there's a little more freedom this way you're not so confined by PS's.

Move your ressie up to 4 pm and take advantage of the much cheaper prices that they offer on practically the same food. We have always try to eat before 5 pm especially at Epcot. I'd ask what time they cut off the lunch prices. Then you have room for a snack later on.

Thanks everyone for replying. I was second guessing my PS's for the trip. We will be starting out early in the morning. Probably Cereal and the like for breakfast in our room. Lunch at or around 11:30 (counter service). Then an early dinner. We have the MYW with dining. We were hoping to eat early and allow our children to stay at the parks till 9 or so. Except when we see wishes we will let them stay later.

Thanks again.....

You guys as usual are great! :sunny:

When we dined at PT Cafe last May, dinner started at 4pm, and the latest lunch they offered was 3pm... maybe it changes from restaurant to restaurant.

We often dine around 5pm or even a bit earlier because we do a big brunch a lot of times and aren't hungry again until then - then that leaves us time late at night for the munchies!

THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

Kinda sounds like a Napolean Dynamite quote. I shoulda used "I'm studying to be a cage fighter". Darn it! I missed my chance....
