50's PT or SCI-Fi??

This will be my DH first time at Disney and I want to make sure he gets a good experience. I've been to both 50's PT and Sci-fi. I didn't find Sci-fi to be all that apealing, but I loved the PT Cafe. The more I think about it, however, I think I loved it because I was younger and with my parents and they got in "trouble." I don't know if it would be as fun with just my DH and myself.

So my question is this: Do you think we should eat lunch at one of these two restaurants or a different one entirely? And if one of these, which one? And if not one of these, which one? hehe.

Also, if you think a different restaurant, is it that much more expensive. (of course we're on a "budget".)

I vote for 50's Prime Time.

The Sci-Fi just isn't that appealing to me or DH either.

I would also suggest the Brown Derby. I think it is very "Old Hollywood and if you get one of those round booths - think Lucille Ball in I Love Lucy - it could be kinda romantic. Doing lunch maybe less expesive than dinner.

The Cobb Salad for 2 at the Brown Derby is excellent.

Good luck!

Been to both. Will continue to visit Sci-Fi, we're all done with Prime Time. We enjoy the cool darkened environment on hot, sunny days, and the burgers and rings we had were good. We didn't find the gimmick at PT all that entertaining.

We love PT! We had so much fun there! We ate at the Sci-Fi as well, but will limit that to dessert this time because hubby like the movies...

Sci-Fi. I love the atmosphere and the food is good.

I can't stand the 50's Prime Time. Bland food and getting yelled at while you eat, oh goody:rolleyes: .

Our kids thought the Prime Time was hysterical. If they are happy, we are happy, LOL! We didn't find our food bland, and food was ok at both places on our last trip :)

Out of those two, I would definitely say Sci-Fi. Prime-Time was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had ANYWHERE (& the food was just 'blah!'). I'd NEVER return to this place again, but I know most people love it! However, we always go back to the sci-fi.

BUT, if your budget can swing it, I agree with momxx5 who suggested the Brown Derby. We love this place & try to get back there every trip - if the money is still holding out! :)

Definitely the Sci-Fi.

The PT is ok, but our family always makes sure to visit the Sci-Fi whenever we're at Disney. The food is good (try the BBQ Chicken Sandwich! It's AMAZING) and the drive-in movie atmosphere is so cool. It's a nice break from the heat and crowded-ness of the parks on a hot day...
